Seeing this camera everywhere now. Canon M50 was previously my ideal vlogging camera to get, but the Z30 is definitely looking like a very solid option!
I think the Sony ZV-E10 has better autofocus. I’d love to see a comparison.

@7:32 there is a way to get something similar to log in any Nikon camera even in some previous DSLR cameras. Nikon have a Picture control software which let you create custom profile look. i also created some custom Log profile for my D750 using Flat profile as base. i able to make custom log profile which let me keep slightly more details in highlights and shadows.

Nice video. Any issues with overheating while recoding video? I have heard that this camera (and other similar camera's) could have issues with over heating, especially in hotter places.

best video on Z30 so far! Thanks! Ordered Z30 but not having Z30 kind of makes me think twice about my purchase. So far the hand held videos I've seen aren't impressive and too shaky for my taste. My old DJI Action has better stabilization minus of course the better quality on bigger sensor camera. I wish my Z6 had a flip out screen and that would have been a perfect vlog/self video camera.
Maybe a DJI pocket 2 is the best alternative for quality image but very stable
I use a DJI RS3 mini. You can also use Zhuyun crane.
What is the gimbal that you are using
Hi Jeven. What do you think of the Nikon Z6 and Z6II? Do you think its good for content creation as a B roll camera? I use the Sony a6500 since 4 years and think of upgrading to a newer camera this year. Or do you think the Z30 is good enough for B roll shots?
Upgrade to A 6600. Nikon DX - Z mount has no good lenses.
@@XYZ-qb5gc All the Nikon Z lens, even the kit ones are very good to exceptional. Even Dpreview said that the Sony one is crap compared to the 16 -50 in the Z30. What Nikon doesn't have is true pro Z dx lens as Sony. Its only Fuji who has some kind of pro level dx lens. Now as soon as you go less wide, you have some interesting ff lens like the 28 2.8, 40 f2 etc that are really good and if someone wants to upgrade to FF, they can keep them.
Nikon should introduce a z6iii next. I would wait a little bit for that as it should be class leading in that range.

What’s that tripod grip you’re using? I just bought a smallrig one but it feels pretty flimsy, they threw in a telescoping neck and it destroys the structural rigidity. The one you used looks interesting, the controller looks better too.

@@JevenDovey Hey hey-I sent it back because on my channel ChokerTV Modified I was trying to upgrade to 4k video. Now on my Canon m50 the picture I think is outstanding but after going through the menus many pages, the screen wasn't touch screen, and even using an external mic and after adjusting the sound levels I just got frustrated and said " let me find something a little more simple and user friendly.There were other issues so I said-ENOUGH! LOL Btw love your videos very helpful!
I also have been in situations when its time to shoot I have to be confident that when I upload its going to be right and after uploading several times with Sony I couldn't use video!

shoot on Flat profile and then grade as you wish. Flat profile gives excellent headroom for grading.
@@economicdevelopment5972 Yep, more so that this was shot mostly at the worst hours of the day for lighting.
I just watched the latest video from Barry Mountfield - he says the Z30 is very difficult to use outdoors because the screen isnt bright enough.
What lens is that?
M6 Mark II is another great camera with 32 mp. only bad thing about is the screen flip up hitting the microphone and will need to buy a smallrig accessory and also you need to have an adapter for it to expand your variety of lenses. this nikon camera looks great! but maybe I will still go for m6 mark ii. idk idk lol
It reminds me of the canon m50 but much better. Nikon must have taken the m50 as an example and improved on everything. I like the built in microphone being so good. Unless I am missing something, this camera will take over the market for its class. If I did not already have an m50, I would get this Nikon. Canon will have to come up with something to compete. I am not clear on the 4K video capability of this Nikon. Is there a crop issue? This camera has me excited. I want to hear more.

@@XYZ-qb5gc there are many good Z lenses covering most of the focal ranges and because Z have minimum flange distance compared to any other mount so you can literally adapt any les mount on it. recently a company released gen 2 adaptor to adapt Sony E mount lens on Z and review suggests it works really good.
@@JaspreetSinghArtist Please let me know some DX- Z mount good glasses. They market this camera as a vlogging camera. The only wide angle DX lens they have is 16 - 50 mm lens. Those who vlog would know 16mm is not enough for vlogging. And when you adapt lenses, autofocus won't work well as native lenses and cameras will be heavy.
@@XYZ-qb5gc The 16-50 kit lens that it comes with is really good. The Z lenses from Nikon are amazing. The fantastic 14-30 f4 that Nikon has would work too and has a little more reach but no VR. In addition, there is a 12-28 DX lens coming which would be even better for vlogging. But the kit lens you can get with it is pretty great.

Is there any active stabilization like on ZV-1 & ZVE-10?
Yes it has VR (lens) plus Electronic (same style as ZV-E10 active) but catalyst browse is way better than active but you'll need that 11mm sony lens (or 12mm samyang)
How does it compare to the Sony ZV1?
Nikon's lens and mike is much better, colors are better too. All touch menus are intuitive and you get no recording limit of 30 min, also can be powered from powerbank.

Hi Jeven. What a nice video again! I was hesitant to buy the Sony ZV 1 or the Sony E10. And then I just watched your video on the Nikon Z 30. It is very convincing! What a dilemma! What camera would you recommend?
E10 if you need it now. New ZV1 rumoured to be coming out soon as well.

What is up with the colors in this video every clip feels graded so different than the next.
I can only assume it was the first time working with Nikon clips, which do in fact work slightly differently, which makes it a bit tricky to adjust them to others. Canon and Sony have their own ideas about colour, with Sony being the most accurate and in my experience, the footage reacting most predictable. When I used LUTs with Nikon footage, they always looked different to what they were supposed to. So... a bit more tricky. The footage is great, but the colours really react differently.
It might just be coincidence however and I may be talking out of my butt... ;)

nah, better to take any old full frame camera, A7S I (2014) for example and in my opinion looks video better.
No ibis, shaky as heck , only useable footage with a gimbal or a tripod as you showed clearly in your video, pretty much useless for a vlogger, you didn't take more than two steps hand held, don't try and tell people you can get useable footage with this hand held, you cant and you know it that's why there is almost none in your video. This camera is trash and I'm a full time nikon shooter

@@TheLinesEnd LOL, I have the action cam and it is completely different image quality compared to my Apsc and FF cameras. It has a minuscule sensor and the second the light gets complicated image just fall apart.
