Of course they always deliver; that's why they are G.O.A.T
One of my favourite albums.
Man....I'm 66...and haven't heard sing this since I was a kid. So many thanks😊
I'm 71, and I've never heard this one. I'm guessing this was not one of their hit single ?
@stevejoshua9536 I was 8 when this song came out and it was one of my favorites. I don't think it was a single, it was on Beatles VI here in the US, although I do remember it being played on the radio. Great song.
This has always been one of my favorites that only people who have the album know about. I ALSO love "EVERY LITTLE THING" from the same album.
👏🏽👏🏽 This song is in my top 10 favorites. Obsessed with it.
This is one of my favourite under-the-radar Beatles songs... it reminds me of their cover of Buddy Holly's song "Word of Love"... Ringo and George contribute great things, but it's mainly a Paul song... I've read that Paul doesn't think much of this song, which shows that you shouldn't pay too much attention to what artists think of their work!
I have always felt that this is a really underrated Beatles' song. I love Paul's vocals in this song.
Hi, Jay! You're the first reactor I ever listened to. I appreciate everything you do. As for the Beatles? There's never been another band to change direction if music. I'm in my 70's and when they first came on the scene all I heard from grownups was how that music was going to ruin the world! Now you hear them in elevators, doctors offices and at senior dances! Thank you, Jay. Merry Christmas and I hope you gave a great and healthy 2024.
the drums and the guitars is fantastic...
Another great Beatles reaction.
Nice to see you back on your feet again. Hope you’re feeling a lot better.
note the sound of the 12 string electric guitar.
I always loved in the third verse when Paul sings “Please” that John and George goof on the backing vocals and sing “You’ve”. Then on the next line Paul sings “You’ve” while John and George sing “I”.
You're looking much more yourself❤!
Luv U young lady.
Absolutely love your reaction on the Beatles ❤
Everything they did was a new frontier!💖
Ringo plays a packing crate for the percussion on this song
Just boys having Fun.
Excellent!!!
'What You're Doing' was the final song recorded for the Beatles For Sale album. Which explains why the Beatles never repaired the 1st word of each line of the 3rd verse 'Please' (you?) 'You' (I'm?) They simply didn't have the time. In the mono mix it could be buried but the stereo mix is clear as a bell. What You're Doing is also the first song that shows Paul's growing dissatisfaction with his actress girlfriend Jane Asher. Jane had resumed her acting career, much to Paul's chagrin. In 1965, Paul would write no less than 5 songs continuing this theme. (Another Girl, The Night Before, You Won't See Me, I'm Looking Through You and We Can Work It Out). All to no avail. Jane kept right on acting anyway. RNB
Absolute crap! See above
❤❤❤❤
PAUL!!!! Enough said...👍🏾
Thank you..at 61 yrs old..weavers...want to see more of Sweet momma (J)
Michelle. …….. another beautiful song you need. X
Lyrics seem clichéd to me.
I'd rather hear these clichéd lyrics by the Fabs over and over than any MAINSTREAM top 40 song within the last 15 years.
That's what kids wanted back then, simplicity and fun, and it was a filler song for the albun they were constantly unde rpressure to deliver. Expectations here a out of context from the era now compared to then.
On aime bien votre sensibilité bohémienne, capacité, analytique, et intellect engagé. In other words, Madame/Mademoiselle Jayy: Walt Whitman would get your multitudes! Coolio vibey but also grad-school analytic; multicultural chic but also coffee house intense, as if Nuyorican Poets Café pulled up stakes and relocated to Uptown, Oakland, where it properly belongs, anyway.
Quite a few react to the Beatles and do a good job analyzing their gender-fluid, World Music, Left-wing working-class rebellion. But you GET them -- and that is a whole other level of understanding.
I'd love to see you groove on some Prince, who I think is the one among that small group of great rocker-artists who came after the Beatles who most closely understood what the Beatles did and had the same sense of wild musical diversity, multicultural aspirations, and wonderful weirdness those bros from Liverpool did.
I mean, a number of great guitarists did excellent versions of George Harrison's While My Guitar Gently Weeps. But PRINCE'S take had George's son(who was playing on stage with Prince, Tom Petty, and other legends) literally breaking out smiling in joy, and why not? Prince's solo summoned the spirits of both George and Jimi Hendrix himself: everybody wonders where Prince's guitar went when he threw it up in the air, as it never came crashing down. George and Jimi. S'all ima sayen'...
So, loving your takes on everything you do. George and John are watching your joynts, because, hey, you GET it, and I look for, well, as the Fab Four would say it, "Every Little Thing You Do."
