I love how everything is all crammed in there and yet from lots of views, it doesn't feel crowded or claustrophobic. It's really well done. Congrats on finishing the ride lineup! The Mack is a great addition. :)

This coaster packs some punch! You've managed to squeeze one hell of a ride into a relatively tight space! The launch building doubling as the entrance to the area is genius!

Pretty decent, innit? I'm quite happy with how that one turned out in the end.. it just sorta.. came to life! It has had a couple of layouts, though..

@@leemainwaring6439 and space saving too.. I needed a way to have a second laugh ch next to the first and still get the path under it.. that was my solution..

love how it came together but may I suggest some netting under the airtime launch

It is a good suggestion.. I did consider it, but didn't bother. The park is done now, so it will go onto the workshop without it....

Yet another smooth, well-landscaped and realistic coaster!
In terms of the Thorpe style park, will it have the same sort of thing as Thorpe where some rides are amazingly themed and others look cheap and unloved?

Yep... and our Mack coaster will actually be open too... :D

I am curious, what kind of smoothing technique did you use for this one? Love the long layout winding its way through the park. Well done!

How much of your park design is pre-planned and sketched out vs improvised during the "fill-out" stage? Like, you decided on the fly to make the small lake with effects only after placing the Mack, but did you know in advance that there would be the one centerpiece coaster (of whatever type the poll chose) taking up all that space, and that everything else would have to be built around? What about the groupings of flat rides and coasters? Did you decide in advance for coaster A you'd definitely have flat rides B & C, or just that you wanted two flat rides to "support" the coaster but made the decision about _which_ flat rides they would be for the actual build-out?
I guess I'm hoping you might one day do a video around "How do I *plan* a park?" I realize that's mostly going to be useful for Sandbox mode, which I never play (I'm a Challenge Mode junkie), but if any of those planning and design tips can be applied to challenge mode as well, I'd love to learn!

Really good question - and the short answer is: "A bit of both".
The slightly long answer is that I roughly know what the profile of the park will be - and with it what types of attractions it will have. That's based on some golden rules that Merlin follow. Nothing more interesting than "try and avoid duplicate ride experiences where you can" - but it is a guide, not a rule.
For Beachy, I roughly knew what coasters to put against each other in the poll to fill the slot and the scenario was one I designed previously, so already had an idea of what I wanted in there. So, stuff like "a hyper", "a woodie", "a boomerang" etc..That then leaves me with my chosen hyper, woodie and boomerang. I roughly knew where stuff was going to go, but that often changed based on how the area feels and flows.. The hyper, for example was going to be where the invert / launched coaster is now. Many designs also came and went based on the park. I rejected 5 hyper layouts, 3 multi-launches, 3 floorless and 4 woodie layouts. I say rejected, the good ones get saved as blueprints for future suitable parks,
For my "blank" parks, I roughly know what coasters and attractions I want. I have an idea for the overall park "feel". I have an idea for a rough layout and some ideas on themes. But that is it, the rest of it is organic. Wilderview Mews is a prime example of this.. That park feels cluttered and disjointed because I kept changing my mind all the time. I knew what I wanted, but where I wanted it kept changing. so, as long as you know how many (and what) coasters you want, what attractions support it and roughly what size your park will be, the rest just sorta happens.
