Steel Curtain I can handle, but lil' phantom? That's where I draw the line with roller coasters
lil phantom goes too wild 🗣️🔥
“You ready to go again?” YEEEAAAAAAH (lil phantom)
Just went to kennywood after 30 years finding out about it. It is such a unique park. So much history. Love all the rides.
We yinzers really are lucky to be so close to the great Kennywood park!!
This yinzer agrees
Kennywood is such a little gem of a park. My first visit as an adult was a few months back... Nice and small, easy to knock everything out in less than a day if you wanted, but also packed with enough things to do in such a small footprint you could spend all day there.
Love all the historical rides. Park for sure gives off those old timey vibes but in a great way. And the coasters are really top notch.
It would have been amazing to have footage of the original Phantom that caused so many injuries! I felt like my retinas detached at the bottom of the 5G turn on the bottom of the 220-foot drop. So happy it was re-imagined!
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing to have Steel Phantom POV also. The elements on that looked fun, but dangerous with it coming at those inversions at 80mph
Every time I rode it I couldn't tell when it went upside down
i was barely tall enough to start riding it before it went away, my head bounced back and forth so much i got massive headaches, then the new one comes out, there is nothing holding my shoulders back, nothing to hurt myself on, and i try to duck when it goes under and smack my head.
@@empyrrhics9264 I still hurt myself on Phantom's Revenge on the airtime hills at the end the lap bar kept hitting me in the stomach or my stomach was slamming into the bar...either way my stomach was sore when I got off.
I remember it being fun as long as I remembered to press my head back against the seat. It was intense and I remember it took a few minutes after the ride was over for me to feel normal. I haven't been to KW since 1995 moved from the area in 1998, so I was bummed to find out it changed through yt and that the Log Jammer is gone. Glad to see the woodies are being preserved though.
the steel curtain looks intense.
wow.
It's a lot of fun. Yes, it is intense going upside down 9 times, plus the inversion right off the lift hill! The hang time you get on that Zero G Stall...wow!
Yes it’d be great if it wasn’t always broken down 😢
I rode that it was insane. I loved it. But waiting in line for a couple hours that parts not worth it, but the ride is!
Shut down for the WHOLE ENTIRE SEASON
I love the Exterminator video where it was a split so you could watch both in the dark and with the lights on. Also liked the audio on it too.
I’m 74 and in Chicago. Never heard of Kennywood, but I’m going there for a weekend.
Try out some tides tell me your experience u didnt see me even though i was there
Fun fact, oldest roller coaster here was the first roller coaster I’ve ever been on
I love how the opening verse of "Renegade" plays on the chainlift of Steel Curtain. I wish it kept going though through the rest of the ride.
No you don't... you hear it for two hours while waiting in line to get on! 🤣😅
Going to Kennywood today, looking forward riding the coasters :)
The thunderbolt is definitely my all time favorite roller coaster at Kennywood.
Same here. If you categorize it by steel and wood, Thunderbolt #1 woodie and Steel Curtain #1 steel
Same
thunderbolt os the best!
@@TheJoeml85 it sure is!!!
No phantoms revenge
I love kenny wood
Thanks for this! The Jack Rabbit was the first coaster I ever rode, almost 60 years ago. I was 15 or 16. Wahoo!
Me 2 I have not been there for like 10 years
"Sky Rocket" is an underrated coaster! Sure, it's not "huge", But man it's a "rush" to ride! 👍😊👍
It's the second hill that make your heart drop
Went for the first time in 15 years recently. I'm not huge on 'big' coasters, but Sky Rocket and Steel Curtain seems to be formidable additions. Will always love Thunderbolt.
Kennywood is my top places to Go to
My favorite ride is Phantom‘s revenge it’s so tall and I love it:D
Lived in Pittsburgh my whole life. Been to kennywood too many times to count. My first coaster was the jack rabbit and decades later it was my sons first coaster, too. Wonderful place to make memories with the family. ❤
Went on every coaster, in real life. Always has that perfect combination of smoothness and thrills!!!
Coming out of the station at the beginning was like a whole ride in itself, before the actual ride!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Huh?
Best coaster would have been seeing the Log Jammer still up and running.
We go every year. Best theme park you can go to. ❤
I've never been to Kennywood while the Steel Curtain was open. I'm floored at how long it seems to last compared to the Sky Rocket. It looks like a very distinctive and unique ride. I'm not afraid of loops, but I do have to say, I prefer the Phantom because it's a bit more scenic. Giving you cool views and angles of the park without the neck jerks, allowing you to smoothly take it in. However, I love the part at 13:15, where it almost touches the water. And a nice aerial overview of those sitting areas on the left. I also admire the view at 12:39. That's gotta be one of the tallest views in Kennywood-after marveling at the view from the top of the Phantom, this is a cool new perspective. 12:47 had a nice straight soaring motion that looked satisfying. I look forward to trying the Steel Curtain at least once in my lifetime.
Happy National Rollercoaster Day 🎢 Kennywood
This makes me so homesick!🥺
*LOVE* the paint job on the Phantom's Revenge.
Planning a Pennsylvania park trip next year so I’ll likely get to check these all out
The worst part about the Phantom's Revenge is that it's too short lol. Will forever be my favorite amusement park ride of all time. Probably based on nostalgia alone. There's something ethereal reminiscing about a warm summer day in my childhood, standing in line, looking to my right and seeing the glorious river and mills. Then seeing everything from far above at the coaster's peak. Riding so close to The Turtle ride-which I once rode before I was tall enough to ride the Phantom, and always longingly gazed at from below. The parts dipping under the other roller coaster, or the loop at the end surrounded by greenery, are forever engrained in my memory. I think I came here on an uncrowded weekday once, and was able to ride the Phantom over and over again until the park closed. I haven't been to Kennywood since 2016 but I've thought about it every summer since.
The concept of racing 2 coasters is one I'm VERY suprised hasn't been duplicated more in other parks. Looking back on the concept it's so ahead of it's time
It always feels so much longer when you’re actually on it
Missed the Laser Loop --an oldie but goodie.
Going to Kennywood tomorrow, excited as heck
That is a long wild mouse with the best theming ever.
The wild thing to me is that "Phantom's Revenge" configuration has been around almost two and a half times as long as the original "Steel Phantom" configuration, but me and my siblings STILL call it the "Steel Phantom"! This is the equivalent of an older person calling the Thunderbolt; "The Pippin"! 😳
I remember being terrified of the Jackrabbit when I was younger, now Im about to ride Steel Curtain and (maybe) Phantoms Revenge when I go to Kennywood in two days
went to Kennywood 3 days ago
Wow wasn't there when the Steel Curtain was open yet!! Looks like an upgraded Sky Rocket!!
I never seen the car that far behind on the racer in fact the one behind in the beginning usually wins.
Both times I went on Racer was on right side, once as blue and once as green. Both times I went on it green won. And both times we were in front of the other train lol
I wish the Steel Coaster was open. Everytime I go it's closed. 🥺
I've ridden it once and it was amazing. But the last 3 times I visited it was down. It's just to expensive to go when your fave rides are down.
Thunderbolt was rough when I went the other day
I love Kennywood! I had a great time 4 days ago
I went 6 days ago, omg I wanna go again
@@chachaarealsmoothh get a season pass next year
Thunder bolt is the best coaster
Yes
I'm gonna go on it tomorrow for the first time
No
Says gp
Frrr
Kennywood Amusement Park is located in the Borough of West Mifflin!!!
The Thunderbolt didn't exist until at least the `60's. Before that, it was a completely different coaster called, The Pippin. It was the only coaster to start on level ground and then go DOWN instead of up.
Unless they've changed it, that's not how The Thunderbolt starts! The first dip is IMMEDIATELY after the ride starts! There's no lead-up to it!
Kennywood was my favorite place to go as a kid. The Potato patch fries are the best,no other amusement park fries are as good. I just wish that they would lower the price,Cedar Point is surprisingly cheaper.
My two favorites were jack rabbit and thunderbolt
I love Kennywood so much
What a great lineup
Old and new. Steel and wood.
I love roller coasters
i’m excited to go this thursday when the band goes for my school and i’m gonna try the exterminator, then i would of been on every roller coaster there.
I went on the steel curtain last year BEST RIDE EVER! May or may not over blacked out 😅
You blacked out on it the thing is force less to me 💀
@@Lightning-rodenthusiast I blacked out bc I was really scared
For some reason as I get older the Thunderbolt becomes more fun. I love the Phantom and Steel Curtain, but there's just something about Thunderbolt.
i remember going on the jack rabbit so many times when i think i was 4-6 years old (2014-16)
probably about 30 times or maybe more and when i came back when i was 9 i started crying maybe i missed it since i moved to florida
I love Jackrabbit, Phantom’s Revenge and Exterminator 😁
Me too! The exterminator is underrated.
@@justlandon001 agreed
@@justlandon001 idk I feel like it would be cooler if I could see literally anything to orient myself. It's just pitch black and hurts my sides. Maybe with some glow in the dark bug-decor I could get in board with the theming but for rnn I just skip it.
Pennsylvania is the best state
Really wish the exterminator audio was able to play that audio makes it seem so much more fun
i love kennywood sm
I love your roller coasters
I know it's not a popular opinion but imagine if thunderbolt became an RMC hybrid.... Kennywood would have 2 hyper coasters an incredible RMC and 2 classic wooden coasters and a launch coaster...it would be a world class collection of coasters
And please get a better motor for steel curtains lift hill ..lol
Yessss
Kennywood would never do that to Thunderbolt or any of its other woodies. They love their classic coasters.
Kennywood is an historic park known for it's woodies moreso then it's modern additions. As much as RMCing one of them seems feasible, it'll be a mythical moonshot in terms of chance if it would to ever happen. ;)
Hi kennywood I love jack rabbit
Wanting to head here, knobels and Hershey park hopefully within the next 2 or 3 years.
Exterminator and Steel Phantom are my favorites
Making that roller coasters in Minecraft was fun😊
Where was the Pippin, Thunderbolt, Laser Loop & Log Jammer? I consider the Log Jammer a water roller coaster. The Thunderbolt is the best!!
Thought the Track for Phantoms Revenge was Green? Did they Paint it recently? Haven’t been out there in ages.
steel curtain is flashback 2.0?
How was the steel curtain
I’m going today! 🎢🎠🎡
My ranking:
#1: Steel Curtain
#2: The Phantom’s Revenge (this was close for #1 and #2)
#3: Sky Rocket
#4: Thunderbolt
#5: Jackrabbit
#6: Racer
#7: The Exterminator
#8: Lil’ Phantom
I’m sorry but phantom is more thrilling will steel curtain may look the tallest in height it actually isn’t phantom is reaching up to 235 feet
@@Lightning-rodenthusiast I’m entitled to having my own opinion, also, it says “My ranking:” not “Your ranking:”. You don’t control my opinion or my life, why should you control my ranking of rollercoasters?
@@TotallyNot_Jakewastaken it was an opinion 💀
@@Lightning-rodenthusiast yet your saying mine isn’t valid 💀💀💀
@@TotallyNot_Jakewastaken and your saying I’m entitled I never said you were entitled bro 💀
They sound less enthusiastic.
*Turns to Kennywood*
*WHAT DID YOU DO?!*
I went today for the first time. Phantom’s Revenge is great. The 2nd drop is a MFer. Sky Rocket was a instant rush but that 2nd half is snoozefest lol. Of course Racer and Steel Curtain were closed 🙄. Thunderbolt was ok.
i was just there i rode the jack rabbit 3 times
When did the audio for the Exterminator change? Or is that manually added for the video?
Why does the track change halfway through skyrocket? Did they have budget cuts or something lol
Why is the lift on steel curtain so slow?
I’m going to fright night any tips?
KENNYWOODY
Hiii #JACKRABBITISICONIC CHAIN also i preference past and present, phantoms revenge is fun, racers, jackrabbit, My first upside-down one was Skyrocket, I loved it I wish there was a seat belt because I get lifted up more than the jackrabbit does on the double drop plus the phantoms revenge. Lol, I was ruined after that
This the good stuff PBS don't show you
I had the same announcer for Jack Rabbit too
Fun fact I’m actually 1 day older than sky rocket
I’ve been on the steel curtain, it was only black. (I fainted)
Steel curtains track is so wide it almost looks like the b&m dive machine track
Only 3 of these look exciting
I remember my first time on the exterminator and me and my friend were screaming for our lives
ok here’s my ranking:
1: Phantom’s Revenge
2: Steel Curtain
3: Sky Rocket
4: Thunderbolt
5: Exterminator
6: Jack Rabbit
7: Racer
8: Lil Phantom
Yeah let's all go to Kennywood so we can get caught in the crossfire of Gang Banger shootouts.
Fun for the entire family!
Ah snap, then let's go to the bad neighborhood back home and witness the same thing! Double snap!
They need a new coaster again an rmc coaster and new room
They wouldn't be able to afford an RMC, plus they wouldn't RMC their historic woodies, they would have to have a single rail or hybrid from ground up. They probably couldn't afford it, but wouldn't mind a B&M Floorless or Invert there.
Ok is it bad that I didn't really like the steal curtain
I have a story to tell I was lost and never rode on a roller coaster before and my sister was at the jackrabbit and I axidently went on the steel certen and when I got of I told her that was the worst beginning roller coaster of all time and this also happened to my friend
My question is how he keeps the camera so still on the rides
Probably a device called a gimbal
Wrist curls
The POVs could be mounted to the cars?
I like Racer
Who here remembers the "Laser Loop"? Anybody other than me?
Exterminator looks like it needs a bug update next season
Great content know body's talking in the background
you is feel like ur gonna hit ur head the whole time of steel curtain 😭
Frrr tho I was like what happens if u hit ur head😭
What about the thunder bolt
