This is one of those movies I think should be required viewing. First, the direction is gorgeous. Then there's the casting. Denzel captured how intense Malcolm's speaking was...still is. The cinematography is nothing short of great art. And then there's Malcolm, himself: his parents, his crimes, his imprisonment, the Black Muslims, and their eventual betrayal of their own goodness in Malcolm's eyes. And, perhaps, their murder of him. This is an amazing life story. And it's all right there in the movie.

If it was made today, it would’ve been a 10 part mini series. I’m glad it wasn’t. We needed a 3 hour Malcom x movie
