- Kate Keeps on Trucking in her Freightliner! 2021
In today's video I drive the big tandem Freightliner truck full of wheat to the commercial grain elevator! Yes I drive the big rig on the freeway again! I get to drive up to the scales and get my ticket. Then I have to drive the truck into the building where I unload all the wheat. My Dad said teaching me to drive truck is why he has white hair! LOL . I also tarp the grain and untarp the grain mostly by myself. I really have to try hard to work the clutch. I love driving the tandem truck. It sure has a lot of horsepower! Dad gives me driving tips on the go. I use my mirrors a lot more today. Driving on the freeway is really exciting. I'm learning how to make turns too. Using the brake is a big of a challenge today. I am really excited to be learning more about driving truck. It is a lot harder than it looks. Dad is a great teacher and I am grateful he takes time to help me. I hope you enjoy the video!

My Story…
Hello. My name is Kate Stephens, and I am a 16-year-old 4th generation farmer. My family has been farming wheat in north-central Montana since my great grandfather immigrated from Denmark in 1912 and homesteaded our land. My family has been teaching me about farming since I was two years old. I run one of the combines on the farm at harvest. I believe that it is important for everyone to know where their food comes from and the families who produce it. I love our farm, and I hope that my Farm to Fashion and Farm to Table products can help educate people about where their food comes from in a fun way. That is how Kate's Ag became a reality. I hope you love my products as much as I do because this is an extension of our farm and the grains we have been growing to feed other families for over one hundred years.
I Like How It's A Little Stressful & Your Taking Direction.... And Still Give That Little Smile!😊
Thank you so much for your kindness and great comment!
Kate, this is one of my favorites, you happiness is really apparent. Imagine when in 50 years, your grandkids asking you what you did on the farm when you were there ages and you being able to say, "Well, let's look at the UA-cam videos, I drove the freightliner and the combines." The kids will say, "Oh Grandma, you had it so hard you had to drive your own trucks and combines back then, We all have self driving trucks and combines now."
Thank you for your kind words! LOL!! You made my day!
Your Dad must be very proud of you. Very courageous and learning some very difficult tasks. Please give him my hearty congrats for raising a wonderful young lady!!!
Be proud of Him too!!! Father of the century 😊
Thank you for your wonderful and kind words!!! I am very grateful to be able to spend time with my dad!!!!
it's beautiful to see the love of this father with his little daughter, and she is very smart and dedicated, a little princess who drove a truck and agricultural machines, I'm in sung with this girl, I love watching her videos, congratulations Kate
Thank you for your wonderful kindness!!!!!!!
Kate is the best dressed Farmer I have EVERRRRRRRR seen,,, I love how she is super focused then turns and smiles,,,,,,,, Keep it up Kate,,,,,

Incredible Father and daughter relationship:-) World's number one dad!. God bless you all !.
Thank you so much for your kindness and blessing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your dad is so cool to be teaching you. Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much for your kind words and great encouragement!
Hi Kate. I have a Kate also, she is 42. You are a mature young lady and your folks are doing a great job of rearing you. Your dad is a stoic Dane. My grandmother from Norway was also stoic. He wants to see you succeed and do things the right way. The engine is connected through the transmission and that makes the truck move. The clutch disconnects the engine from the transmission. The engine and the brakes work against each other, that why there's a clutch, to allow your truck engine to keep running while you're standing still. I was 20 when I bob-tailed a semi across town, my first time. I don't think the poor thing had any teeth left on the gears. At least I can drive my Ford diesel now upshifting and downnshifting without the clutch. It only took 55 years of driving! Thank you for giving us our wheat and showing us how it's done Kate. Blessings to you.
Thank you for your kind words. Hello to your Kate!!! I appreciate your great story!!!
That is something Kate you will always cherish with your father something you’ll never forget good job
Thank you so much for your kind comment. I always cherish time with my dad!
You grandfather must have been a brave individual to live out in the middle of nowhere back in 1912. I can only imagine how he would marvel at the modern machinery you use everyday. I bet most of his labor was long hours of backbreaking toil. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for your great comment! I agree and it amazes me too!!!!!
God bless you and your Dad, the memories you two are creating.... Priceless. 🗽👍👍🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Thank you so much for your kindness and encouragement!
What a wonderful young farmer and great dad teaching her how to operate semi-truck. We need more young farmers like you in great USA. GOD bless our farmers who work tirelessly to bring food to our kitchen. Good luck to you.
Thank you so much for your kindness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OK, my grey hair is turning silver...lol...Actually u did quite well...it's a muscle memory training exercise...15min to half an hour in the yard every day for a week u will be a pro. Driving to/through the grain elevator adds another level of stress. You did not run off the road, run into anything or anyone, or get banned from the grain elevator, and your dad is still talking to you, so I call that a win. Great job! Two thumbs up!
LOL! Thank you for your hilarious and terrific comment!!! I really appreciate your kindness!!!!
Dad, you are a very brave man. She is a scary driver... LOL I drove manual transmission 5 ton beet trucks when I was 6, but I was big for my age. I did have to slide forward on seat to shift and push in the clutch. It was out in the field and on private farm/canal roads. Seriously, I love this kid like a daughter. Keep it up Kate.
Thank you for your story!!
What a great team, you and your dad, absolutely top!
Thank you so much! I totally agree!!!
Kate you are so lucky thete is no better teacher then your father just ne calm and don't rush your not in a race hunny i drove trucks for 38 year's its do fun... Just pay attention to your surroundings st all time you will make an excellent driver don't get excited great video god bless ,, 🙏🙏🙏💚
Thank you so much for the terrific advice and your kind words! I agree that Dad is the best teacher ever!
You doing great Kate 😀👍
Great father too!
Thank you so much for your kindness! I will let dad know and he will smile!
Kate you have a great Father & Teacher
I agree!!! Thank you for your kind words!!!!
Coolest Dad/Driving Instructor ever. He clearly wants you to be an excellent/safe truck driver. Fun to watch, thanks!
Thank you so much for your kind words! I agree Dad is a great instructor.
Kate, may I make a suggestion about situational awareness? I know it is incredibly tempting to want to "live" inside the "cockpit", in the plane and the vehicles, but try to stay "outside" a bit more. The speed isn't going to change very much once you reach your cruise speed unless you add or decrease your foot pressure on the pedal. Just keep scanning the mirrors and look around - enjoy the beautiful view you have in Montana - you are luckier than you can ever imagine with the experience you are building. Enjoy the journey. Love your work, young lady. You make so much look so easy and your vlogging is top-notch! Fantastic!
Thank you for your kind words and great advice!
My second youngest daughter and me used to truck a lot together and the memories you and your father have brought up I can’t thank you enough
Thank you so much for that great story! I really appreciate it. You made my day!!!
Driving a truck like that is a big challenge. Good job, Kate. It helps to grow up on a farm and start learning to drive tractors first. Driving the combine has helped you.
Thank you for your kind words! The combine really helped me learn to drive a car too.
Congratulations 🎉👏 for your 10k subscribers..... Keep going my friend.... I'm with you.
Thank you so much for your kind words and great encouragement! I really appreciate it. This is so exciting!!!
You are a very impressive young lady, your parents should be very proud 💙

Your Dad is a brave man. I was stressed teaching my daughter to drive a car.... great job Kate!!!! You'll do fine, practice makes perfect.
LOL! I agree that dad is brave to teach me truck driving! Thank you for your kind words and great encouragement!
When I was teaching my wife to drive, she rolled back into a Rolls Royce, JUST avoided contact !!!
@@johnfellows2867 that would have been expensive
LOL! I can't even imagine how expensive that would be!!!! My grandma (mom's mom) backed over my grandpa's brand new Gold Wing motorcycle (twice actually because she thought she just ran over the flower bed). Then she called him and asked him if material things were important to him. LOL There was silence and then he said "no". Then grandma told him what she did!!! They never spoke of it again!!! The bike was taken away on a flatbed and a new one showed up but it was never parked it the driveway again! LOL
@@KatesAg OMG. That's a great story!!
Kate, your voice and your brain are perfectly designed for Radio or TV BROADCASTING. You have such a sweet spirit and honest heart that people can't help but love you. You could easily sell ice to eskimos (a lot of ice)!!
LOL!!! Thank you so much for your great and inspiring words!! My mom agrees with you!!!!
Proud of you for getting in there & running the big machines. Proud of your dad for being patient in teaching you. Just like I would do. My dad was a agriculture teacher & FFA advisor
Thank you for your kind words and great story!
How great, I remember when I was 10 years old and had to stand up to get the clutch down on the one tractor on our family farm in Brown City, Michigan. Your dad is a great man.
Thank you for your kind words and great story!!!
Your dad must be proud of you

Dear Kate do not get discouraged keep going , it is Ok . Your father is a great teacher , you will succeed .
Thank you for your kind words and great encouragement!
Kate, lots of comments here. When I was learning, my Dad had me go out in an open field and practice the things that I was having difficulty with. Clutching, breaking, shifting, starting and stopping. Just a thought. Happily many more miles to you. 😎
Thank you for your kind words and great story. Practicing in the field is a great idea.
Achieving competence sucks. Owning it is priceless. Brace yourself for a truly awesome life. Every limit will be of your own making. Few live fully. Show the way, Kate. The universe is on your side.
Thank you so much for your amazing and kind words!!!! Again, really made my day!!!!
Great job kate you'll be a fine truck driver give it time.
Thank you so much for your kind words and great encouragement! I really am excited to learn more about the big truck!
I bet the Dad can’t believe he has such an enthusiastic daughter that is so useful on the farm.
LOL! Thank you for your kindness
Don´t forget that practice makes perfect . It will only get easier and less scary . If it really was your second time out than you did a great job .
Thank you so much for your kind words! This was really my 2nd time driving this truck. My mom said my dad should have me practice around the farm, but my dad didn't agree. LOL
@@KatesAg I am taking Dad's opinion as a compliment, and he knows you are ready for the road!
You hang in there! Keep up the great job as you learn, Kate! Proud of ya!!
Idea: See if Dad would agree that with the clutch out, you will be moving. 🙂
Thank you!!! I will see what dad says!!! LOL He will agree with you.

Good job Kate, Keep it up. See you next time and thanks for the video.
Thank you so much for your kind words and great encouragement!
Kate when you get in the freight liner truck set your seat back and the seat so that you can reach the stering wheel without having to barely reaching the steering wheel. Well Kate just make the seat comfortable for you. Cause girl the more that you drive the big truck the more you are going to learn. Because you have the best teacher teaching you. Your Dad Your father is not going to teach you anything that is wrong on driving a big truck like the freightliner. Budd R Hicks
Thank you so much for your great suggestion Mr. Hicks!
Oh Kate, you are so talented. You drive big combine,s, tractor,s and big truck,s. You have so much fun Kate. Keep making the video,s, ok.
Thank you for your amazing kindness and great encouragement Mr. Atchison!
Before you know it you're going to be driving that truck all by yourself you're doing a great job
Thank you for your kindness!
Kate, you handle pressure quite well. It's very refreshing watching your videos. What a wonderful World it would be if all young adults were as enthusiastic as you. Your dad must be very proud of you. I'm betting your subscription numbers will hit 500K in no time. You go Girl!
Thank you so much for your kind words and great encouragement!!! You made my day!!

Keep learning Cariño you doing so good
Thank you so much!
Kate I love your background music and I can't say it enough you have the nicest dad. When are we going to meet the rest of the family. And driving that truck is very tough. I drove my Mac Tools truck from 1987 until I retired in 2015. Before that I was a Mpls Police Officer. I had two boys and I would of loved to have daughter like you also. Were looking forward to getting your bag.
Thank you so much! It is so nice to hear that!! Also, thank you for your service in the Police Department because that is very important!!!! I appreciate your kindness!!!!!!
You Go Girl, great driving:)
Thank you so much for your kindness!!
Nice job Kate. Very brave of you to take that on. Very stressful but you did well for your 2nd time. You'll be hauling a lot more grain for Dad soon. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much for your kind words!
Sorry... Yeah, that was me. (In retrospect this was maybe not such a good idea...)
I just find it amazing that you replied to, like, 99% of the comments. Never seen that before.
I felt it was deserving of ~420 likes.
As for my comments: I like how you used the Tropico music. And, I haven't heard anyone say "Brake!" as urgent as that since I was learning to drive! Lol! ...but that was a car... You driving a Big Rig. Well done miss.
Good luck with the channel. I am sure it will be a great success.
PS: I would also really struggle with that clutch!
Thank you so much for your kindness! I really appreciate that you take the time to comment. I try to reply to everyone because I am very grateful that people take the time out of their day to write comments. I'm really excited to learn to drive the big truck! My dad is very patient, except for the " brake" he might have panicked a bit! LOL!
@@KatesAg Awesome! I got one too! You keep well Kate. God bless you and yours.
Thank you. I really appreciate that!
Cutest little truck driver I ever seen your doing great kate
Thank you for your kindness!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are brave to film this as I'm sure that inside you must be quite nervous. How-ever in spite of that, you're doing a fine job, & like others have said, soon the instructions from your dad will click into place, and you'll be driving that rig like you own it.
I say they are going to have to strap a block to that clutch pedal so she can reach it. Then she’ll be fine. Just be careful it doesn’t fall off and lodge under the brake pedal.
@ DarkFlamage Thank you so much for your kind words and great encouragement!
@ Mr. Vicarri Thank you for the great suggestion. It is tough being small!!
Watching and listening to you and your dad takes me back to learning how to drive with my dad
That is wonderful! Thank you for your great story!
You learn quickly and are not even nervous about driving the heavy truck ...🙂 ok, it's not on the road in the middle of new york city 😉
Thank you for your kindness! I am certain my Dad wouldn't even drive in New York City!! LOL
@@KatesAg i would also be afraid 🤔
Have a good trip Kate!!!!
Thank you for your kind words!
I started watching you when you were operating the combine, and really enjoyed it, now I am enjoying watching you learning to drive a truck. Keep up the good work
Thank you so much for your kindness and great encouragement! I really like driving the combine, even though the hours are really long. The truck is very challenging because I am so small!!!!
What a cutie. Love the enthusiasm and just remember, with time comes experience and wisdom. I'm not a truck driver, but this applies to all things. Be safe out there.
Thank you so much for your kindness and great advice!!!!!!!!!!!!! I totally agree!
Szuper Kate 💪👍🙂🤗🚛
Thank you so much for your kind words and great emojis!
Look at you go Kate. You're learning. We all went thru the same stuff. They'll come a day when you give your dad tips on driving from things you learned on your own. Good job !!
Thank you so much for your kind words and great encouragement!!! I hope that day comes!!! Dad is a really a great teacher.
Вы такая умница,у вас лицо доброе и глаза красивые
Спасибо за вашу доброту и большую поддержку !!!!!!!!!!!
Ha! Got such a kick out of watching your face when you first started out. Pure focus, and trying to do what your dad was telling you every few seconds. I could just feel myself in your position. And your face was so focused and intent, and then you'd remember to give a smile, then back to intense concentration. ha. Loved it. You did well I think. I know you'll soon be doing it like a natural. There's some things you have to just kind of learn by experience with heavy trucks. Turning, backing, braking.... all a little different when you have a few tons riding behind you. But bet you'll come to really enjoy it.
LOL! Thank you so much for your wonderful and kind words! You made my day!
dont worry it will come to u !
Thank you so much for your kind words!
Amazing Kate, I know how you feel, I drove a large city bus for 15 minutes first time ever, then told to take to bus and do the ROAD and CDL TEST. WOW!! Passed and drove for 20 years no accidents. Kate, you will be fine, if I can I know you can the very best to you. Keep the wheels and videos rolling.
Thank you for your kind words and wonderful story!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@KatesAg Thank you KATE, also Thank you for all the amazing videos I learn something from each video, the very best to you.
Hello Kate try lowering your seat and pull-up the the back of your seat to give you back support you will find it’s so much easier to clutch and brake. God bless
Thank you so much for your wonderful suggestion!
Yes.. :) Greetings from Denmark. respect to the young lady..
That seat adjustment will make all the difference in the world with clutch and brakes. You are starting your braking from a bad location as your body must travel backward just to get to the point where you can apply pressure. As you move backward you must really super-extend your leg to apply pressure to the brakes. Both you and your Dad have incredible patience - obviously born of the love between you. Great job with handling the truck, Kate and getting it down the road.
Hi Kate,
I’m a trucking enthusiast from New Zealand and am 35yrs in the trade
Watching your energy and keen willingness to learn reminds me of the first time I
Fell in love with the industry.
Like you, I learnt by my father, just tagging along In the weekends at first then eventually allowed to drive.
Back then I was age 13yrs and full of questions, a lot like you.
Ride alongs with dads are somewhat outdated nowadays due to insurance and the fact that some kids would rather play video games or become IT programmers.
In Australasia, learning to drive heavy machinery is missing the intricate things dads install to ensure us and others around us to be safe before we go for CDL.
So a huge kudos to your dad for giving the patience and love of the trade and caring for your and our safety.
With teaching like his,
he’ll be retired in no time…..
I’ve subscribed and look forward to following your growth.
Hello from Montana!!! Thank you so much for your wonderful story and kind words!! I really appreciate the encouragement! It is a big learning curve for me and I am very grateful dad is willing to teach me. Truckers have a huge responsibility that I think a lot of people are not aware of. One of the biggest things I have learned is that it is really important to be courteous to truckers on the road. They have a lot to worry about and we should never try to make their job harder that it is. Turning corners is really different in a semi-truck!!! Thank you again.
Couldn’t have said it better myself…
All the best
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
