Your Dad must be very proud of you. Very courageous and learning some very difficult tasks. Please give him my hearty congrats for raising a wonderful young lady!!! Be proud of Him too!!! Father of the century 😊
Kate, this is one of my favorites, you happiness is really apparent. Imagine when in 50 years, your grandkids asking you what you did on the farm when you were there ages and you being able to say, "Well, let's look at the UA-cam videos, I drove the freightliner and the combines." The kids will say, "Oh Grandma, you had it so hard you had to drive your own trucks and combines back then, We all have self driving trucks and combines now."
it's beautiful to see the love of this father with his little daughter, and she is very smart and dedicated, a little princess who drove a truck and agricultural machines, I'm in sung with this girl, I love watching her videos, congratulations Kate
You grandfather must have been a brave individual to live out in the middle of nowhere back in 1912. I can only imagine how he would marvel at the modern machinery you use everyday. I bet most of his labor was long hours of backbreaking toil. Thanks for sharing.
OK, my grey hair is turning silver...lol...Actually u did quite well...it's a muscle memory training exercise...15min to half an hour in the yard every day for a week u will be a pro. Driving to/through the grain elevator adds another level of stress. You did not run off the road, run into anything or anyone, or get banned from the grain elevator, and your dad is still talking to you, so I call that a win. Great job! Two thumbs up!
What a wonderful young farmer and great dad teaching her how to operate semi-truck. We need more young farmers like you in great USA. GOD bless our farmers who work tirelessly to bring food to our kitchen. Good luck to you.
Great video Kate, nice to see you learning to drive the truck and seeing all your different facial expressions when things get a little difficult! Keep trucking and i had a smile remembering when i first drove my first truck!
Dad, thanks for the patience you showed teaching your daughter how to do things there on the farm. Kate you're absolutely adorable thank you for taking us along as you learn new things.👍
Driving a truck like that is a big challenge. Good job, Kate. It helps to grow up on a farm and start learning to drive tractors first. Driving the combine has helped you.
Kate you are so lucky thete is no better teacher then your father just ne calm and don't rush your not in a race hunny i drove trucks for 38 year's its do fun... Just pay attention to your surroundings st all time you will make an excellent driver don't get excited great video god bless ,, 🙏🙏🙏💚
Proud of you for getting in there & running the big machines. Proud of your dad for being patient in teaching you. Just like I would do. My dad was a agriculture teacher & FFA advisor
Kate your dad is the best!! You are very determined and will be good at anything you choose. Dont be embarrassed when you make mistakes, that how we learn. Lucky you and dad!!!
LOL! I can't even imagine how expensive that would be!!!! My grandma (mom's mom) backed over my grandpa's brand new Gold Wing motorcycle (twice actually because she thought she just ran over the flower bed). Then she called him and asked him if material things were important to him. LOL There was silence and then he said "no". Then grandma told him what she did!!! They never spoke of it again!!! The bike was taken away on a flatbed and a new one showed up but it was never parked it the driveway again! LOL
How great, I remember when I was 10 years old and had to stand up to get the clutch down on the one tractor on our family farm in Brown City, Michigan. Your dad is a great man.
Hi Kate. I have a Kate also, she is 42. You are a mature young lady and your folks are doing a great job of rearing you. Your dad is a stoic Dane. My grandmother from Norway was also stoic. He wants to see you succeed and do things the right way. The engine is connected through the transmission and that makes the truck move. The clutch disconnects the engine from the transmission. The engine and the brakes work against each other, that why there's a clutch, to allow your truck engine to keep running while you're standing still. I was 20 when I bob-tailed a semi across town, my first time. I don't think the poor thing had any teeth left on the gears. At least I can drive my Ford diesel now upshifting and downnshifting without the clutch. It only took 55 years of driving! Thank you for giving us our wheat and showing us how it's done Kate. Blessings to you.
Kate, lots of comments here. When I was learning, my Dad had me go out in an open field and practice the things that I was having difficulty with. Clutching, breaking, shifting, starting and stopping. Just a thought. Happily many more miles to you. 😎
Nice job Kate. Very brave of you to take that on. Very stressful but you did well for your 2nd time. You'll be hauling a lot more grain for Dad soon. Thank you for sharing.
Look at you go Kate. You're learning. We all went thru the same stuff. They'll come a day when you give your dad tips on driving from things you learned on your own. Good job !!
Kate, you handle pressure quite well. It's very refreshing watching your videos. What a wonderful World it would be if all young adults were as enthusiastic as you. Your dad must be very proud of you. I'm betting your subscription numbers will hit 500K in no time. You go Girl!
I started watching you when you were operating the combine, and really enjoyed it, now I am enjoying watching you learning to drive a truck. Keep up the good work
Thank you so much for your kindness and great encouragement! I really like driving the combine, even though the hours are really long. The truck is very challenging because I am so small!!!!
Dad, you are a very brave man. She is a scary driver... LOL I drove manual transmission 5 ton beet trucks when I was 6, but I was big for my age. I did have to slide forward on seat to shift and push in the clutch. It was out in the field and on private farm/canal roads. Seriously, I love this kid like a daughter. Keep it up Kate.
Thank you so much for your kind words! This was really my 2nd time driving this truck. My mom said my dad should have me practice around the farm, but my dad didn't agree. LOL
@@KatesAg I am taking Dad's opinion as a compliment, and he knows you are ready for the road! You hang in there! Keep up the great job as you learn, Kate! Proud of ya!! Idea: See if Dad would agree that with the clutch out, you will be moving. 🙂
Kate, your voice and your brain are perfectly designed for Radio or TV BROADCASTING. You have such a sweet spirit and honest heart that people can't help but love you. You could easily sell ice to eskimos (a lot of ice)!!
Kate when you get in the freight liner truck set your seat back and the seat so that you can reach the stering wheel without having to barely reaching the steering wheel. Well Kate just make the seat comfortable for you. Cause girl the more that you drive the big truck the more you are going to learn. Because you have the best teacher teaching you. Kate I love your background music and I can't say it enough you have the nicest dad. When are we going to meet the rest of the family. And driving that truck is very tough. I drove my Mac Tools truck from 1987 until I retired in 2015. Before that I was a Mpls Police Officer. I had two boys and I would of loved to have daughter like you also. Were looking forward to getting your bag.
Thank you so much! It is so nice to hear that!! Also, thank you for your service in the Police Department because that is very important!!!! I appreciate your kindness!!!!!!
Hello Kate try lowering your seat and pull-up the the back of your seat to give you back support you will find it’s so much easier to clutch and brake. God bless
That seat adjustment will make all the difference in the world with clutch and brakes. You are starting your braking from a bad location as your body must travel backward just to get to the point where you can apply pressure. As you move backward you must really super-extend your leg to apply pressure to the brakes. Both you and your Dad have incredible patience - obviously born of the love between you. Great job with handling the truck, Kate and getting it down the road.
Practice! Practice! Practice! Things will become second nature someday. Are you able to scoot the seat ahead a little further, or is it all the way ahead?
Achieving competence sucks. Owning it is priceless. Brace yourself for a truly awesome life. Every limit will be of your own making. Few live fully. Show the way, Kate. The universe is on your side.
Kate, may I make a suggestion about situational awareness? I know it is incredibly tempting to want to "live" inside the "cockpit", in the plane and the vehicles, but try to stay "outside" a bit more. The speed isn't going to change very much once you reach your cruise speed unless you add or decrease your foot pressure on the pedal. Just keep scanning the mirrors and look around - enjoy the beautiful view you have in Montana - you are luckier than you can ever imagine with the experience you are building. Enjoy the journey. Love your work, young lady. You make so much look so easy and your vlogging is top-notch! Fantastic!

Hi Kate, I’m a trucking enthusiast from New Zealand and am 35yrs in the trade Watching your energy and keen willingness to learn reminds me of the first time I Fell in love with the industry. Like you, I learnt by my father, just tagging along In the weekends at first then eventually allowed to drive. Back then I was age 13yrs and full of questions, a lot like you. Ride alongs with dads are somewhat outdated nowadays due to insurance and the fact that some kids would rather play video games or become IT programmers. In Australasia, learning to drive heavy machinery is missing the intricate things dads install to ensure us and others around us to be safe before we go for CDL. So a huge kudos to your dad for giving the patience and love of the trade and caring for your and our safety. With teaching like his, he’ll be retired in no time….. I’ve subscribed and look forward to following your growth.
Hello from Montana!!! Thank you so much for your wonderful story and kind words!! I really appreciate the encouragement! It is a big learning curve for me and I am very grateful dad is willing to teach me. Truckers have a huge responsibility that I think a lot of people are not aware of. One of the biggest things I have learned is that it is really important to be courteous to truckers on the road. They have a lot to worry about and we should never try to make their job harder that it is. Turning corners is really different in a semi-truck!!! Thank you again.

You are brave to film this as I'm sure that inside you must be quite nervous. How-ever in spite of that, you're doing a fine job, & like others have said, soon the instructions from your dad will click into place, and you'll be driving that rig like you own it.
I say they are going to have to strap a block to that clutch pedal so she can reach it. Then she’ll be fine. Just be careful it doesn’t fall off and lodge under the brake pedal.
@@KatesAg so proud of you driving that big truck and listening so well . Lots of kids would cry if there parents are getting a little loud while teaching you . Doesn’t mean Dad doesn’t love you , he just wants you to learn and not crash . See ya on the next one . Maybe consider S to me ?
Sorry... Yeah, that was me. (In retrospect this was maybe not such a good idea...) I just find it amazing that you replied to, like, 99% of the comments. Never seen that before. I felt it was deserving of ~420 likes. As for my comments: I like how you used the Tropico music. And, I haven't heard anyone say "Brake!" as urgent as that since I was learning to drive! Lol! ...but that was a car... You driving a Big Rig. Well done miss. Good luck with the channel. I am sure it will be a great success. PS: I would also really struggle with that clutch!
Thank you so much for your kindness! I really appreciate that you take the time to comment. In Australasia, learning to drive heavy machinery is missing the intricate things dads install to ensure us and others around us to be safe before we go for CDL.
So a huge kudos to your dad for giving the patience and love of the trade and caring for your and our safety.
With teaching like his,
he’ll be retired in no time…..
Couldn’t have said it better myself…
All the best
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@ DarkFlamage Thank you so much for your kind words and great encouragement!

Sorry... Yeah, that was me. (In retrospect this was maybe not such a good idea...)
I just find it amazing that you replied to, like, 99% of the comments.
I try to reply to everyone because I am very grateful that people take the time out of their day to write comments. I'm really excited to learn to drive the big truck! My dad is very patient, except for the " brake" he might have panicked a bit! LOL!

Yup, sleeping in pickle parks. Grabbing a bite to eat and a shower at a truck stop. I can see it all now.
LOL!!! I think my mom would faint!!
@@KatesAg I have not driven a big truck since 1997. It was then I decided to go to law school. However, here it is 24 or 25 years later, and I still miss driving big-truck. It gets in your blood and never leaves.
