_Fun fact:_ On their upcoming EP there is 2 songs that are mirrors of each-other. The notes of the second one is exactly the same as those of the first one, but in opposite order -- and what is really impressive is that the second one sounds almost as good, judging from the clips they released on youtube just minutes ago... That takes some really serious composition skill !

I’m so glad y’all watched them, they’re a great group that doesn’t get as much attention as some of the singer’s other groups. They have a live video of this song that’s insane, towards the end when the double bass really kicks in the violinist is absolutely getting down while playing with a frayed bowstring, it’s really amazing.
Sorry to burst her bubble though, I think the singer and violinist are the only women. The others are guys, including the red haired guitarist.

This band is ridiculously good, more of a supergroup really, the drummer is from Galneryus, the guitarist with red hair is from Yousei Teikoku, the other guitarist and the bassist are from Undead Corporation, the violinist is from Rose Noire, and the singer is from Doll$Boxx/Lightbringer/Fuki Commune. React to more Doll$Boxx btw!!!!

I love this song! Their usual gothic-themed symphonic metal is very well made, but the extra sprinkles of little bits of extreme metal (growling and such) in this song, not just spices it up, but takes it to the next level. Singer Fuki is always amazing, guitar guy is smooth perfection, violin girl is awesome and drummer guy is a wild animal !
I heard another song from them where they also tried to incorporate little bits of extreme metal, but it was nowhere near as perfectly integrated as in this one. Hope they make many more songs similar to this one -- then they could be one of my top favorite bands -- not just having made one of my favorite songs.

Apropos drumming like an animal: It is hard to avoid thinking of "Animal", the drummer in the good old Muppet Show -- here are 3 funny clips with him:
      ua-cam.com/video/w8wIXXBOqxE/v-deo.html - Animal - Drum Solo (short)
ua-cam.com/video/b_IpgKzy75E/v-deo.html - Animal vs Rita Moreno - "Fever"
ua-cam.com/video/8nLS1nTRBDI/v-deo.html - Animal vs Buddy Rich - Drum Battle
I always also think of Akane from BAND-MAID -- she looks so cute with her tiny maid hat, but when she attack those drums, she is so primal and ferocious!

This Black Pentagram song is seriously a masterpiece of modern metal. Fuki is an amazing singer, that has been in or is in several other bands/projects, and the rest of this band is comprised of members from the jmetal scene's best acts. Really, Japan is holding the torch and leading the way for metal. They aren't afraid to grow, experiment, and progress. They are ahead of the game.

John Smith +1000 on this... They definitely intimidate with regards on "um... This band is perfect, why play?"
But it's also refreshing to be inspired and see where they are taking metal.

Right back at you. I'm a metal musician, and play in a band similar in style, and when I heard black pentagram, I thought to myself "Well ok then. Why should I bother?" lol

John Smith hahahahaha! So glad 🤘 there's always other styles to experiment with or improve upon... I believe since Kamelot lost Khan there has been a void in that sound & I miss Matt Barlow in iced Earth... Opportunities for other musicians to share their best.

Unlucky Morpheus is a super group, did some lineup changes time to time. I love the Current lineup, ex Light bringer, ex yosei teikoku, ex rose noire.

A lot of metal bands/musicians in Japan, especially male ones, follow some variant of the "Visual Kei" style or at least take some inspiration from it. That style of clothing, hair and makeup make it hard at first glance to say whether they are men or women and also makes them look a bit like anime characters. When you are used to seeing people styled like that it is not so hard to tell though. This is very different from most heavy bands outside Japan where the musicians very often emphasize or exaggerate their manly-ness or womanly-ness. (There are plenty of exceptions to this, of course). While Unlucky Morpheus is not really a Visual Kei styled band, they have taken _some_ style inspiration from it, (along with plenty of goth influences and also some other styles).

Yes, Fuki from Doll$Boxx, different band, different hair Ha!
The guitarist is awesome in this song. In the studio he does almost everything else too, except drums and violin. He’s also lead guitarist in Yousei Teikoku, a band I’d mentioned that’s been around 20years. Here’s the same link to their song Astral Dogma m.ua-cam.com/video/_EeYxtAeaX4/v-deo.html Japan has a flourishing & creative metal scene, but it’s still a small world...
PS nice new intro. And your greenscreen is having fun with y’all again!
