I love my Vitamix so much, it changed my life. Gave one to my brother, one for my sister and one for my mom. When you love something, you need to share it with the world 🥰
What is the maximum “batch size” you would recommend grinding? Could a person just dump in a 1 pound bag of coffee and grind it all, or is this more of a daily use (like 1 to 2 oz) thing?
Hi there! It is not absolutely neccessarry to purchase a dry container as you can blend coffe beans in your wet container. However, when you do blend dry ingredients it can cause marring on the container which is not covered under the standard warranty.

Hello I have the vitamix accent 2500 blender, is the wet container capable of grinding coffee beans or would it damage the blades? Do I need to have a dry container to do this job?
@@VitamixCorporation thank you very much for your reply. I would like to understand the technicalities behind this and why as I was considering different accessories for my by to make some was looking at the stainless steel container and perhaps good sacrifice my work container for the job of dried grains if it was suitable. I did hear after making a phone call recently to vitamix in the UK that they dry container throws everything out to the sides where as the wet container sucks everything into the blaze and they felt that it wouldn't really be suitable for milling dry things like coffee beans for making flour, it's always good to get the technical information. Actually I was really interested in the small container accessory for milling small batches of flour and coffee beans as well so any feedback is greatly appreciated
The blades in our Dry Grains Container are specifically designed to create a reverse vortex, pushing dry ingredients away from the blades to prevent packing. This container is specially designed to efficiently grind fresh, whole-grain and gluten-free flour, mix batter, and knead thick yeast dough for pizza, soft pretzels, and homemade bread. While you can make flour and grind coffee beans in the wet container, we do recommend using the Dry Grains container, as it is specifically designed for that.
It is a possibility due to the coffee beans being a little tougher. If this happens we recommend pouring equal parts of water and white vinegar into the container. Let the container soak in an upright, standing position for several hours, then pour the contents out and use a soft pot scrubber to clean the inside of the container.
Gotcha! We recommend giving this a try in that container. Blend 1 cup at a time, and the longer you blend the finer the grind. Though don't go past 1 minute!
the blades are already dull from factory. I LOVE vitamix, its the single most important kitchen appliance I own. I don't think I could even function without it.

@@VitamixCorporation thank you for your prompt reply. I’ve completed the survey as requested, AND I ground my coffee beans as demonstrated above for my cold brew maker. I ❤️❤️❤️ my 5200 series that was gifted to me in 2001 and still going strong. Excellent quality machine!
Hi there! You only want to blend 1 to 1 and a half cups at a time. Start on low and take up to high speed and blend for a few seconds until desired grind is reached. If you need further assistance with your Vitamix please send us a DM, email us at service@vitamix.com, or call at 1-800-848-2649.

That looked like the setting for French press. What number/how long do I grind for espresso?
I thought you would use the dry ingredient jug? Which is best please?

Hi! For best results we would recommend doing 1-1/12 c. at a time. Happy Blending!
Is it absolutely necessary to buy a dry container if the only thing I’d use it for it to grind coffee beans? Thanks!

Hello! The wet container is capable of grinding coffee beans, but we do recommend using the Dry Grains container, as it is more suited for the task.

Is it possible to grind coffee in the 20 and 8 oz containers?
Hi there! Yes, it is okay to grind coffee in both the 20 and 8oz. containers!
@@VitamixCorporation Thanx! Could it cause marring in those small containers?

The color of the coffee at the end of the video is weird .. foggy.. I wonder if is the way machine grinded the coffee
Because it is unfiltered. That is what happens with a french press and unfiltered coffee. Yum!
Do I need to use dry container?
Hi Carol! If you plan to use your Vitamix for dry grinding tasks like this on a regular basis, it is best to invest in a Dry Grains container.
Thanks, I have a dry container, just never used it.
