  • In this video, I un-box and set up my new Axminster table saw, it’s not at all an instructional video, it’s simply a way to document all the exciting moments😄

I have the same saw, good video but cut the music as can not hear what you are saying, music is completely not necessarily on this type of video.

Looks good. I wonder as you have a 2" wood on the inside would 1" wood be plenty for the casters. it would reduce the Hight and make it less top heavy.

Looking forward to seeing your progress after a very strong showing in BBW (BTW...you were our fave to win it! You were robbed imho). Get the fences accurately set up and the dust extraction might be best using a LPHV system. I considered this sawbench when buying mine, but ended up buying the W650 which I use for my business. It pipped it because of the CI sliding mitre table and was a fair bit cheaper but very simialrly spec'd. Blade wise, I can recommend the Freud Pro Rip blade, the CMT or Shark Blades professional 80T. I'd go CMT on a General purpose blade also. The Shark and CMT industrial range better the Axminster premium sawblades I've owned. Stay sharper longer and have more carbide on the teeth. Oh, and are cheaper!

Hey, probably missed it - which saw blade do you use? The Axminster Premium ones? Thanks!

Looking forward to some further posts…. I was watching thinking please lock those wheels out so you are not chasing it around your workshop (been there done that 😂). Now you are going to have to go around getting everything else in your workshop the same height, seems like a silly detail but it might help future proof a few things such a being able to cut larger sheet goods, etc and being able to use your workbench for example to support the wood. Suggest you take a look at Dennis over @ Hooked on wood. He really has given everything a lot of thought to the point where I don’t know how he has any time to actually do any work 😂. Well done

Putting the machine on castors was a smart move.
I bought the Axminster "heavy duty wheeled base" for mine - and I hate it!
It has tiny wheels, so unless the floor is perfectly flat, it is hard to move and only two of the wheels castor, making it hard to manoeuvre. It is also a bit wider than the saw, which is annoying.
A side note, you may want to consider reducing the volume of your background music in future. At times it made it difficult to hear your commentary. Is background music actually necessary, I wonder?
Despite the music problem, I enjoyed your presentation and look forward to your future videos.

Make yourself some zero inserts for the blade

Ciao, I discovered this Table Saw and I'm thinking to buy. I fear that if necessary there could be problems with spare parts etc. I don't know any retailers in Italy, but it's a product that I really like.
Nice video, bravo. Are you thinking of buying the "sidecarriage" (I'm not sure the english for) as well? Ciao, Micky

When you get a change, change out the wings from pressed metal to either laminated MDF or ply - you will thank me later

A question, don't you see the eye on the left side? I see that you keep that hair float in front, be a man and give you in front of your eyes, you are like those who think they are lost on the streets, you only look at one eye at the camera
