Wow, finally, a tutorial thats simple and straight to the point. This cleared my curiosity with how simple it is import animations from maya to unreal, saved and liked, thanks :)
I love this tutorial, I think you might be the only person that explains how to export animation from maya to unreal. Can you make a video on how to fix the texture as well?
Unfortunately, it didn't work. get a message saying "failed to import....". "mesh [geometry have no name] in the fbx is not reference by any hierchy node." What am I missing or doing wrong?

so before we import the animation, we need to import the default t-pose as well? or just straight import the fbx that has animation in it like you did in the video?
If I want to create an animation when the character interracts with the background (like jumping on a tree or throwing something at it) but I want to use the unreal asset, how can I animate it in maya? Because I can't use the asset there
You can export the environment to your 3D program, animate there and bring it back and it will match up! So after importing the fbx black panther animation file into UE4 and viewing it in sequencer. How can i render and export the sequencer animation as a video file from the Ue4 sequencer interface.
There's an auto rig function on maya if you select rigging from the tabs but with some models there's cracks in the skin textures. Any reason why that happens?
@@RoundTableAnimation the textures have cracks in it after i use the auto rig. I downloaded a hulk model from avengers and when i rig it. It cracks between the textures
Unreal engine keeps crashing when I import if I don't have the apple preview set. And when I render out a sequence it crashes every time. Ue4 seems unusable to me :( I have an AMD radeon pro duo 32gb of vram. Updated my driver's, and I'm out of ideas except to not use it cuz I can't lol
I am a bigginer to animation and using maya 2020, every time i try to export an animation and get it imported into unreal the skin gets completely distroted and when i use a character with blend shapes for import into unreal ,i get a tower of blend shapes,one blend shape placed above the other as the skeletal mesh. *i have tried using different fbx versions. *exporting everything in the scene but nothing works *when i try to import the exported animation back into maya i get a wire frame of the character and no skin
Yea.... characters with blendshapes are not made for game engines so it's not going to work unfortunately. Characters have to be joint rigged with set driven keys for facial animation.

@@stever73 Hmm...try importing the character without a rig first to see if it's the mesh or rig

Cracks 🤔....if it's happening with the model thens it's possible because the model has triangles.

Set a key on the camera in the sequencer timeline on the start and then on the finish 😁

Can you do the animation baking with Blender?

Mixamo doesn't do face rigging, does it?
Unfortunately no, its why a lot of my animations have characters without faces and if I do have a character with a face, its rigged by a rigger!
