That qualifying session was potentially one of Bianchi's greatest performances in F1! Qualifying P12 in a Marussia was very impressive, then P14 in the race the following day on the dry. A brilliant driver taken away from us way too soon, he was destined to be Ferrari's next top star
I was always thinking what would have been if he was still there : 2015 season, he would probably be alongside Vettel, then what would have been their partnership, did we miss an internal war between both drivers like we had with Ham vs Ros.. Then what about Kimi, in which team would have he been racing for 2015, 2016 etc ? And of course, would Jules have been able to keep his seat to partner Leclerc... so much ifs, and a wasted talent obviously...
@@ciaronsmith4995If Nico was as far of Lewis in 2014 as he was in 2015, 2014 season would've been easily worse overall and the worst in history of the sport.
"Ferrari's Unlucky Session" would be a more appropriate video title. They just got caught out by the changeable weather conditions which can happen to anyone. In dry conditions both Ferraris would've easily have been in at least Top 10.

Ben Edwards commentary > David Croft. Also it was free to air on the BBC. The F14T (FIAT) was easily the worst car Ferrari made in a long time. The only reason the 2020 SF1000 was crap was because they were being punished for their illegal 2019 engine. The FIAT’s handling was 💩, the engine was also 💩. If Raikkonen and Alonso of all people can’t drag that tractor out of Q1 then there was something so fundamentally wrong with the car.
A damn mclaren fanboy criticizing Ferrari. What?! Mclaren couldn't even win a single race from 2012-2021 and Alonso didn't even make it to the start in most races in 2016 because the craplaren broke down lmao. The F14-T was waaay better than any mclaren made from 2015-2019. Oh and the 2019 Ferrari engine wasn't illegal. Ferrari was just exploiting a loophole in the rules, like mercedes with DAS, but there was never any evidence that the 2019 engine was illegal. In 2020 the SF1000 was slow only because FIA had closed that loophole and Ferrari couldn't rebuild their engine due to engine development freeze in 2020 because of Covid restrictions. If you want to talk about illegal things in F1 then talk about mclaren's "mini DRS" this year which according to many experts was indeed illegal. You're a typical arrogant and clueless mclaren fanboy demonstrating your ignorance.
These cars were small, light, nimble, agile and oversteery as all hell. The best hybrid cars of all time. I also never understood the hate towards the 2009-2016 cars. Although they were way too long from 2010 onwards, the 2009 cars looked absolutely badass. And the liveries from 2014 were to die for. Some of the best liveries in F1 history.
Thank you .I’ve been thinking about it, and what I hate most is when people glorify the cars from 2017 to 2021. Those cars were horrendous-the quality of racing was awful, and they were built solely to break track records, nothing more. Fans of those regulations argue that strategy was the highlight, but honestly, I wish Formula 1 had retained the size and aerodynamics of the 2009-2016 cars. The FIA really missed an opportunity with the 2026 regulations, especially in terms of weight. Still, at least the 2026 regs show they’re moving in the right direction.
