What a fantastic video Jim. Another huge part of our success this season and hopefully beyond is our new CEO Dane Murphy who we poached from Barnsley. He brought in the likes of Spence, Lowe and Zinckernagel who have transformed the team this season.
I agree the best bit of business was not a player arrival, but the appointment of Dane Murphy. We now have a C.E.O with a football business brain.

An opposing team will usually always get chances, how they take them or don’t take them has a major effect on a team’s defensive display and luckily for us at the moment, Fulham aside, teams aren’t taking their chances so we’re looking better defensively then we actually are.

Great video, dude. As a Forest fan, Cooper's worked a mini miracle thus far. Very much hopeful for the rest of the season.
One of the keys has been Cooper giving Joe Worrall freedom to move forward with the ball to find space and pick short or long passes.
I like the challenge that's been given to Joe. He can serve up a GREAT cross but tends to make mistakes when drippling and / or short passes, but its worked out.
The effect Cooper has had on Nottingham Forest has been mental. It's been so nice to see the squad come together since he's come in and our rise to seventh from where we were is great. COYR

This is great analysis. The way that Steve Cooper has worked on the mentality of the players and the culture of the club is vital to the transformation at Forest. The players believe that they can win every game and play until the final whistle. If Forest went a goal down under Chris Hughton then the game was over (and stats will back that up). That is not the case anymore and it is a really exciting time to be a Forest fan. I wasn't sure that Steve Cooper was the best appointment, but he has been fantastic. He's a great guy as well as a great head coach.

Cooper has bought so much positivity to forest. The same players under houghton were like on a dogs lead, don’t lose the ball and don’t concede. Once we did concede the team didn’t k is what to do. Yates was a target of some fans for not being good enough. Since cooper has come in yates has turned into a great player who loves the club and is a great player all over the pitch, cooper is the first manager since clough, (I’ve watched forest for 40 years) that can turn an average player into a good player. It’s vital we sign Spence asap, we have the money and Middlesbrough need the money, same for zingernargle and offer Brennan a big contract. This is the only way we can get promoted
Derby sympathiser, for most of my 50+ years following. I sincerely hope Cooper continues to be the best you've had since Cloughie. My Forest mates have been tremendous this past few months during Derby's woes. I hope you never go back to the strife previous people have inflicted on Forest. I bet it's making the current run all the more enjoyable.

Awesome vid, the turnaround under Cooper has been remarkable and your analysis breaks it down nicely. He shows a real understanding of the stature of the club as well and has built an identity and a strong connection with the fans in a relatively short space of time. I think if we can come out of the Jan window with Spence, Johnson and Worrall still at the club and maybe one or two solid additions then we have a great chance of top 6. Think the centre back duo of Worrall and McKenna deserve a lot of credit too, both compliment each other perfectly and give us a great base to build from.
Great video, thanks for making it. Pretty much spot on with Hughton, defensively ok, always looking for a 1-0 but when 1-0 down confidence was shot to pieces.
As with Cooper, breath of fresh air and not been this excited about Forest since (dare I say it) the Billy Davis era.

Brilliant analysis ,you’re.right the January window is going to be very interesting the Spence Lowe Zinckernagel situations are slightly worrying going forward but I’m sure under this coach there is a plan B.

An excellent analysis of us. The move to a back 3 (although we do still go to a 4 sometimes, especially away from home like we did recently at WBA) has made the world of difference. I was screaming for it for months under CH but he just wouldn't make that change from the 4231 (which sides had long since worked out- going way back to the Sabri Lamouchi days!). The minute we changed it up for the Huddersfield game when Stephen Reid was in charge, we just looked so much more dangerous as both Spence and Lowe were able to get forward.
Whether we can maintain this form into the new year obviously remains to be seen but we've put ourselves in such a brilliant position and we are surely now a much more attractive proposition for potential signings.

Im a Forest fan and very happy with Cooper as far as players leaving we are a big club with a huge fan base and although Johnson is a very good player he is young and i do not see him leaving any time soon i am sure he would love to play in the prem but hopefully with Forest as for Spence he is on a year loan i know there is a call back half way through the season but it could be a difficult one for boro as Spence has said he wants to stay at Forest

Very happy with Steve Cooper currently. Hard to get too optimistic as a Forest fan, especially as somebody under the age of 30, as we've seen it come crashing down too many times. Our key man at the minute is Djed Spence. That is, if 'key man' is defined as such as to where taking the player out the side would have the greatest (negative) impact on the way we play. It's a bit of a disaster that he's only on loan. Worrying too that Grabban turns 34 next month. That's an expensive one to replace. However I will say that I am a lot more confident in our ability to plug the holes in our squad with Steve Cooper at the helm. He had some right gems at Swansea and hopefully his contacts and reputation can help bring players of that level here too. We haven't utilised the domestic loan market enough in the past few years imo.

If you discount the first seven games. Forest are averaging 2pts a game which at that rate would put them at 79pts a end of season, has to be a playoff finish. Problem is keep the team together. Worrall and Johnson could go plus Spence recall is very possible like you said

Fantastic analysis ! I would hope/think Steve cooper knows the possibility of a restructure is highly likely in January. DJed Spence is the best RB I’ve seen in years including Cash. He’s a must keep! Unless SC has someone in the squad who can slot into the same role. Love this “new Forest” hope we can add & NOT disrupt the current squad because they are all pulling for each other 🤞
I think its mostly because He actually uses the Squad to His Advantage and doesnt try to shoehorn Players that Don't fit into His system into His Side

Keeping him was a smart move.
The January window is interesting as Forest are not really in the need to sell game. The likes of Worrall and Johnson are always linked but with Brennan, his father the ex Bury, Ipswich and Forest striker/forward David has said that it would be best for Brennan to stay put for now. I think some new blood is likely to arrive more than departures.

Absolutely love Cooper, been some of the best football I’ve seen since King Billy’s first spell as manager. Don’t think we’ll make the playoffs, I’d be perfectly happy with 8th. It’s hard to think who our best player has been, Spence has been immense though and, bar his mistake against boro, Yates has really got into gear. McKenna is probably the most underrated player of ours though, never gets a lot of the spotlight but has been solid.
As it stands you could make more than the playoffs now

Wow, that's some serious work you've put in there! Fantastic video. I'd say outside of Fulham, Bournemouth and West Brom, we are easily as good as any other squad. I expect Coventry and Stoke to slip away. Blackburn will have a dip. And I'm not convinced about QPR (sorry!). Boro, Sheff Utd and Forest I think will join West Brom in the playoffs.
If brereton stays fit for Blackburn they will go up.

It should be noted that we started the season without any full backs. We had Jordan Gabriel at right back who was starting despite flirting with other clubs, and Gaetan Bong at left back who was not the answer.
It should also be noted that we played against Huddersfield under Steven Reid as caretaker with three at the back just prior to Steve Cooper coming in.
All that said, Steve Cooper's done a terrific job! I don't think a single player has played poorly under him. He's helping to improve everyone.

If he was considered defensive at Swansea, he certainly isn't at Forest. He trusts the back 3 to do the defending on their own if the opposition breaks with speed. Complete polar opposite to Hughton who seemed petrified to even give up a chance, when there could have been two defensive midfielders back.

Great video, however your maths is a bit out. At the time of the video Cooper was in charge of 14 games with 27 points, that's an average of 1.93 points per game, not 1.6. This would mean a points total of 79 if the average of 1.93 points is maintained for the remaining 25 games.

Nervous for Spence potentially leaving and Brennan not signing a new contract just yet.

Wasn't sure on Cooper to begin with, but was open to someone new - Lamouchi worked out well for a bit. If we had the likes of Brereton from this season, with the player we have now. We will get promoted.

Chris Houghton was more concerned about how well the opposition had played. It was always the opposition and never about Nottingham Forest.

I think Cooper is a pretty solid manager, he can set up teams to be defensively solid which will get results. Forest will probably get playoffs this year. But when the strikers stop firing dont expect there to be many goals.
He had a very good squad at Swansea which also seems to be forgotten.
