      At least she had the respect to PUT IT IN THE VIDEO that this video was sponsored. MOST UA-camrs will put that they were sponsored deep into the description that no one reads. AND at least the video was informative. It actually had a point.

      I think it's a cute idea for a 12 year old...but I suppose that what her demographic is now I'm just really frustrated with Ingrid because I used to be able to relate to her and take advice from her....now she's just trying to sell me something. At least throw a couple of original, unsponsored videos in with the commercial videos every once in a while.

    • @abundanceoferica
      @abundanceoferica 9 років тому +5

      Hollie I don't even mind that they are sponsored! This video (and maybe the last Halloween one) seem so far off from her usual style, which I thought was getting more sophisticated especially in her move to NYC.

    If you do a simple search of "bobby pins" on pinterest, there are pictures of exactly the same looks as she's doing here. Even the same color bobby pins. I don't exactly know why, but that SERIOUSLY bothers me.

    • @tcrensh4444
      @tcrensh4444 9 років тому +22

      Agreed . She never gives any photo credit to the photos she steals these ideas from and it bothers me . Give credit where credit is due . Kind of messed up considering she has 3 million viewers.

    • @bellajenna87
      @bellajenna87 9 років тому +20

      Tiffany Hernandez Considering that nothing is original anymore, there's really no need to give credit because the person where she got it from got it from another person, who got it from another person, who got it from another person, and so on.

    • @tcrensh4444
      @tcrensh4444 9 років тому +2

      Bellajenna87. I totally get what your saying and agree with you it just kind of annoys me that she finds these ideas on Pinterest and does a video and passes them off as her brilliant idea . She's not the first you-tuber to do this and certainly won't be last last . Nobody has original ideas anymore . Totally didn't mean to make a thing of it. Just something that annoys me

    • @bellajenna87
      @bellajenna87 9 років тому

      Tiffany Hernandez I get your point. I see this complaint on youtube a lot, a bunch of people saying "this other person did this same look" or "you just copied what this person did." And everyone passes the video off as "their brilliant idea."

    • @KacieThings
      @KacieThings 9 років тому +17

      I don't know if she really is trying to pass them off as her ideas, though. I mean, she says, "some cool ways to wear bobby pins" that she has "seen all over the internet." I feel like that is her saying, "Hey, I saw someone do this, so I am going to try it, too!" Maybe it's for people who don't use Pinterest or maybe haven't seen this trend?

  • @JustJennae13

    Ingrid's Videos are always creative and fun and you can tell that she works very hard on them! and I hate it when she (or any UA-camr for that matter) gets hate for sponsored videos! While we are all sitting at home whining because she is getting paid a little extra for a video, she is super excited about an amazing opportunity she got! Ingrid is one of the most creative UA-camrs I know and I really admire the hard work she puts in to her videos! And plus do you know how hard you have to work for a sponsor to even think about asking you to talk about their product! I think it would be a huge honour! If your can't stand seeing one sponsored video every once and a while then what kind of subscriber are you? Not a very supportive one! Keep up the good work Ingrid!! 💕💕

      Tea rose yea I see what your saying! Bonny pins are a pretty simple idea! But I was just shocked that so many people were commenting that they Unsubscribed all because of a 3 minuet sponsored video? Like wow that didn't take much at all! lol

      ***** I think the bobby pin idea is cute, but I like when products are recommended because that's what she's been using or really likes. Not promoting tresemme or dove because they paid her to do it. She could have done the bobby pin video without mentioning tresemme or dove, but she didn't because they paid her to mention them.

    • @kathrynberryman2457
      @kathrynberryman2457 9 років тому +36

      ***** Yes I do. You can make a living on youtube by making videos and being paid by youtube. That has nothing to do with sponsorships from outside companies paying you for your opinion. My original comment was that I don't understand why every video has to be sponsored. She used to provide original, good quality videos without being sponsored.

    • @lovelyxmai-mai
      @lovelyxmai-mai 9 років тому +38

      Ikr? I feel like she's starting to become a sell-out. I mean, I'm so happy that she can make some extra money from being sponsored, but I begin to wonder if she genuinely likes all the products she promotes and would recommend these products to close friends..

    • @xxcherryxcolaxx114

      That's the dumbest reason to unsubscribe ever. Sponsoring things is how she's getting money.

    • @Waldorfdarling
      @Waldorfdarling 9 років тому +16

      I know how she's getting money, I wasn't born yesterday. And yes I am unsubbing because I simply don't enjoy the content of her videos anymore. I didn't find this video useful since it takes seconds for me to find the very same ideas on pinterest and I don't really like having ads shoved down my throat. This is not the first time she's doing a sponsored video and I just don't fancy being another reason for her to make money. She can go get a real job for all I care. If you think that's so dumb you can stay subscribed, no one forced you to do the opposite. Bye.

    You are 25 years old. And I have so much difficulty keeping up with understanding your videos. Identify your target market properly woman! First you make a completely chic fall inspiration video catered at women who actually can afford the products. I loved it, as i felt like that video spoke to me. then you make this video catered at 12 year olds? how inconsistent are you? just be yourself. You went to new york to find yourself didnt you? dont seem like you have made much progress. BigFrame, you need to get this girl on track!

      Not trying to be offensive, but I feel like this video could be directed toward many people! Yes, twelve year olds maybe, but also just women who want to see different ways to style with bobby pins. Just because you found this video useless for your age, doesn't mean everyone does :)

      You sound really really old. I hope I don't just all of a sudden refuse to wear younger trends in 5 years, regardless of whether or not I could make it work. And, in terms of target audience, she can easily target certain videos at certain demographics. Her entire channel does not have to be targeted towards one age group alone.

    Do y'all plan to stop watching TV shows because of brand placements? What about women's magazines, which are chock full of products that have been sent for "review consideration?" Radio stations that play brand new music because the record company sent them the cd?
    I don't think it's fair to hold UA-camrs to a higher standard than every other form of media. If we want to talk about removing commercials from all media and figure out a different way to make them profitable, that's one thing. But if you're just going to complain about how she's not ~*authentic*~ that isn't productive, it's just naive.

    • @jennyx0x
      @jennyx0x 9 років тому +10

      I understand what you're saying but if every video is sponsored and every beauty youtuber did that then I honestly would stop watching. I have nothing against sponsored videos but I would like them to actually be honest. It's like watching an infomercial sometimes with certain youtubers. I appreciate Ingrid's honest opinions though sometimes I question the truth

    • @Waldorfdarling
      @Waldorfdarling 9 років тому +7

      Actually yes I really don't watch TV anymore or read magazines and that's part of the reason why. And yes it is fair to hold UA-camrs to a higher standard because they were supposed to be something different and they used to be different. Because those videos used to come from "real", everyday people you could relate to and trust, not multimillionnaire corporations.She can go and make her money any way she wants I'm just not gonna be there to applaud that.

    • @spaghettihead1234

      Waldorfdarling I think you should get off your high horse!! If you want to live in an unsponsored bubble for the rest of your life...go ahead...the whole world is sponsored for something! So do you not wear name brand clothing, drive a vehicle with the brand name showing, walk around with a drink in your hand from a shop etc etc etc.... YOU my dear are a walking advertisement EVERY day and YOU don't get paid for it! At least she does!!

    • @Waldorfdarling
      @Waldorfdarling 9 років тому +2

      I think that you should stop telling people what to do, how about that. Nobody forced to you to not watch and enjoy her sponsored videos. Are you saying that I should feel sorry for myself because I don't live off bobby pin videos? I guess I should, poor me. But it's my choice and I don't need your patronizing ass to point your finger at me. Bye.

It's nice to see you bringing attention to the sweeter ones so they end up closer to the top. :)

    I honestly think Ingrid ideas are super cute and actually pretty simply-creative. If i had long hair i would definitely give it a try. She might be a trend-setter after this. Respect every youtuber effort and time to make all these videos. Yes it is a sponsored one. Yes youtube is her job. But this is life. Her life. She need to live. She do whatever she can. I dont get why people complain abt this and that. Even a blogger are sometimes sponsored but you still read blogs anw. Some TV shows are sponsored because thats how it works. At least thats how i see it. Be positive everyone. Spread love not hate.

    I love you, and I am so happy for you and proud that you get to collaborate with so many different people and organizations, but I just wish there was a way you could separate your sponsored activities and your genuine stuff. Some videos, such as this one, just seem kind of forced, and I don't really enjoy it. I love your favorites videos, and hairstyles, and GRWM, and routine, and other videos of the like. But lately I feel your content has been lacking genuin-ity (??) which is really weird because you're so comfortable with yourself and I love that about you!

      I could not agree more with the way you say this. I feel the same way. But I do not want to come of as a hater. It just feels kind of off in some of the sponsored videos. Not that there is anything wrong with sponsors as a way to earn money.

Not doing it to 'stand out' either (maybe a bit), but I genuinely love wearing that stuff. No-one should care about this comment at all, it's a stupid comment but I just thought I'd post it :P

I can't figure out what it is but I really enjoy the content you are putting out lately and I wanted to say keep up the great work. I can tell how passionate you are and knowledgeable about what you do. Thanks for changing my mind!

  • @candi0826
    @candi0826 9 років тому +61

    No offence but why don't you get a real job outside of UA-cam. So you don't have to depend on sponsors to support your life. Three sponsors In one video is just way too much. And I don't want any comments back to me saying UA-cam is her job/ or is a job cause if it was all of us would be making bank. Just my opinion and no if I had a big channel I wouldn't sell out like these girls do. Y'all don't know me.

    • @KyshiaMarie

    • @candi0826
      @candi0826 9 років тому +2

      Oh no I know she makes money from views but that is my point. What happens if UA-cam ends too many of these girls depend on it. Instead of having real jobs. A lot of them even quit post secondary education for UA-cam.

    • @tak4e4
      @tak4e4 9 років тому +3

      UA-cam IS a job. The reason we aren't all "making bank" from it is the same reason why we aren't all actors, you have to be cut out for it. Also, what's wrong with sponsors? I'm glad that she is successful and that sponsors have opened up opportunities for her because she clearly works hard for what she has.

    • @flanya88
      @flanya88 9 років тому +2

      candi0826 ingrid has a degree in architecture, so i'm sure she could get a real job if youtube suddenly ends. i don't forsee that happening though, especially since it's owned by google

    • @flanya88
      @flanya88 9 років тому

      ***** You don't know that for sure. She could have interned or gotten some work experience in the field before she made UA-cam her full commitment. And even if she did have to start from "scratch", she has a four year degree, which is really good to begin with. It's easy to tell that Ingrid is an intelligent girl outside the beauty world, and I'm sure she'd be fine. Even if she didn't use her degree, I'm sure she's smart enough to come up with another way to make a living.

    i'm a recent subscriber as of last week and was loving your old stuff like crazy. i'm noticing almost every single video you do now is sponsored in some fashion. it would be great to see a more balanced ratio of genuine content + sponsored content (not that your sponsored content isn't genuine, but seeing recommendations and opinions without bias is what will keep your subscribers + sponsored videos, since without a fan base, sponsors won't happen). just some food for thought from a new viewer since i'm seeing a lot of hate from others!
