- I spent a fair few hours learning this part for my series of Gaucho bass covers. I made a mix with just bass, drums and vocals, so it's easier to hear the details in Anthony Jackson's amazing bass arrangement.

This is amazing!
Sykt bra! Beste basslinjene i Steely Dans historie. Legendarisk låt.
Takk for det! Genial basslinje.
Man alive, this a brain buster. But I've nearly made it to the end of the chorus and I'm in too deep to stop learning it now. lol
That's how I felt learning it! Man, nailing that one 7 mins+ take took some doing. So many details to remember. The bridge in particular. My recording wasn't quite perfect, but close enough. Did you manage to learn the whole thing?
Nice cover, seems complex... I’m excited to learn this song on bass since I heard Gaucho
Thanks 😊 It's a pretty tricky part to get down, a lot of tiny details. Had fun, though.
Beautifull cover what a tone
Thanks dude:)
🙏🙏
Lars, excuse me , don't look for the phrases along the fingerboard , you will have the best sound with the longest string , look for the bass line in the first zone of the fingerboard .
Thanks for the tip, much appreciated. I find that massaging the tone with my left hand makes up for the shorter string length when I go wandering up the board.
Great job! Nice groove and tone.
Question: why do you swish the left hand up and down the neck between phrases in the verse?
Excellent... i hope you don't mind if I add some rhodes or piano?
Go ahead! 😊
How did you get the raw tracks?
