Great Smoky Mountains National Park
Great Smoky Mountains, one of the best mountains in the Southeast of the United States.
Over 10 million people visit this national park every year.
This place is always covered with a bluish mist like smoke.
This fog is said to be the result of a combination of water vapor and hydrocarbons from trees.
It is said that you can see beautiful autumn leaves for 3 weeks starting from October 15 every year,
so I visited on November 5th.
It is said that the autumn appearance here is like the autumn leaves of Mt. Seorak and Mt. Jiris in Korea,,,
Hurricane Jetta passed a week before I arrived,
so the current landscape was very different from Google's photos.
Clingmans Dome
It is located along the Appalachian Mountains that divide Tennessee and North Carolina.
The tallest observation tower in the eastern United States.
It is said that if the weather is good, you can see 7 states.
0.5 miles from the parking lot to this observation tower.
It is a paved trail, but the slope is a little steep.
Gatlinburg
The second most frequent wedding ceremony in the United States besides Las Vegas.
This is Gatlinburg, a small forest village in the Great Smokey Mountains.
This small town in Tennessee in the southern United States,
It is famous for making and selling moonshine during the Prohibition period in the early 20th century.
Moonshine is the name given for making liquor while sneaking in the moonlight at night without a license.
There is a scene where Daryl and Beth drink in a TV drama, The Walking Dead.
There are several distilleries in Gatlinburg.
The famous one is the Ole Smoky Moonshine brewery.
Moonshine is a liquor like whiskey, like Korean fruit soju, various aromas and flavors are added
It is creating various moonshine.
For $5, you can try different moonshine.
SKYLIFT PARK.
I took the sky lift (about $25) and went up to the top of Crockett Mountain(152m high) to see the night view.
As I took the lift and climbed the mountain, my body trembled
whether it was because of the cold autumn night wind or because it was high.
The Gatlinburg SkyBridge is the longest pedestrian suspension bridge(207m) in the United States.
At its midpoint, there is the glass-floor panels overlooking the ground below.

그레이트 스모키 마운틴.
미국 동남부 최고의 산중에 하나인 그레이트 스모키 마운틴은 매년 천만 명 이상의 방문객이 찾는 테네시 주의 국립공원이다. 그레이트 스모키 마운틴은 늘 연기 같은 푸르스름한 안개로 덮여있다.
이 안개는 나무에서 분출되는 탄화수소와 수증기가 합쳐서 생긴 현상이라고 한다. 매년 10월 15일부터 3주간 단풍 절경을 볼 수 있다고 하여 11월 5일에 방문했다.
이곳의 가을 모습을 마치 한국의 설악산과 지리산의 단풍과 같다고 하던데,,,
도착하기 바로 전 주에 허리케인 zeta가 지나간 후라 그런지
아쉽게도 구글에 있는 사진들과는 많은 차이가 있었다.
클링먼스 돔.
클링먼스 돔은 테네시와 노스캐롤라이나를 가르는 애팔래치아산맥을 따라 이어지는 곳에 위치한 미동부에서 가장 높은 전망대.
날씨가 좋을 때는 이곳에서 7개의 주를 볼 수 있다고 한다.
주차장에서 이 전망대까지는 0.5 mile. 포장된 트레일 길인데 경사가 조금 가파르다.
개틀린 버그.
개틀린 버그는 미국에서 라스베이거스 외에 2번째로 결혼식 행사를 많이 하는 곳.
그레이트 스모키 마운틴 안에 있는 한 작은 숲속 마을 개틀린버그이다.
미국 남부 테네시 주의 이 작은 마을은 과거 20세기 초 금주법 시절, 밀주 문샤인을 만들어 팔던 곳으로 유명하다.
문샤인은 면허 없이 밤에 몰래 숨어서 달빛을 맞으며 술을 만들었다하여 붙여진 이름이다.
TV 드라마, 워킹데드에서 데릴과 베스가 마시는 장면이 있다.
개틀린버그에는 양조장들이 여러 개 있는데 그 중 유명한 곳이 올레 스모키 문샤인(Ole Smoky Moonshine) 양조장이다.
문샤인은 위스키 같은 술인데 한국의 과일 소주같이 여러 가지 향과 맛을 첨가해 다양한 문샤인을 만들어내고 있다.
올레 스모키 문샤인 양조장에서는 $5를 내고 여러 가지 문샤인을 시음해 볼 수 있다.
스카이리프트 파크.
개틀린 버그의 야경을 보기 위해서 스카이 리프트( 약 $25)를 타고 크로켓 산 정상(152m 높이)으로 올라갔다.
스카이 리프트를 타고 올라가는 데 리프트를 타고 올라가는 데 차가운 가을밤바람에 추워서 그런지 높아서 무서워서 그런지 몸이 떨려왔다.
정상에는 미국에서 가장 긴 구름다리( 207m)가 있다. 구름다리 한가운데에는 아래 지면을 내려다볼 수 있는 유리 발판이 있다.
