I don't think my Moen disposal has hole for an Allen wrench underneath (there's a nut that I can loosen with fingers, though), and it has rusted walls near the plate--seen when looking down through the sink. I've used vinegar and a scrub brush to remove a lot of that rust, but I still have not purchased an unjamming wrench. It seems extremely stuck such that an unjamming wrench may not work. But I think I'm going to try one anyway.

You should use hot water cause it can help loosen up any grease, cheese, or other things that solidify with colder water. Otherwise excellent video.

Unfortunate, it still will not freely turn despite as much power as I’m using. Also used a dowel to get into the disposal from the top. Still cannot get it to freely turn must be one heck of a jam. Any other thoughts?

Same. I think it's a build up of gunk in the disposal because there's a mud like substance sitting in there along the edges. I'm going to get some baking soda and try to clean it.

I have not yet purchased an unjamming wrench, and there's no hole in the bottom of mine for an allen wrench, but I do see rust buildup along with wall near the plate when looking down through the sink. I have used vinegar and a scrub brush (several times) to remove a lot of that. You may also have rust buildup?

What if this works but then a few hours later it does the same thing. Repeated steps help for a few times, then it happens again.

I'm the olden days..we didn't know about a GD. Wrench. We'd use the back handle of a broom. Geez that garbage disposal lasted for more than 20 yrs. This one now I just got few mo. Ago, I used an Allen wrench. Worked then, jammed again. (??). I'll try tomorrow. Turn left or right?.I turned both ways..

I'm totally not a fan of garbage disposers. They break a lot, clog up the drains, and totally expensive to maintain. I would rather compost my food scraps and turn it into fertilizer for my lawn and garden.
