IT IS THE BEST LOOKING SHEATH I HAVE SEEN SO FAR.

Great looking sheath. Very functional. Everyone has their own way of doing things. After a couple hundred sheaths that I have made I find that I wet my sheath, insert the knife and then press it all in between high density foam for over night. The sheath dries and it fits the knife like a second skin.
The little compass was a cool touch.

JohnnyB8224 Kydex is made this way, and I have thought about trying with leather. Now I am more confident in my assumption.

I've never seen a handle snap with the elastic, that is a BRILLIANT IDEA! I didn't like them because they feel in the way, but I've always wanted one for fear of dropping my knife while climbing, etc., I'm going to have to do this!

Nicely done work. Keep in mind though, having metal that close to your compass can affect the accuracy of the compass bearing reading... knife blade, rivet, etc. Very nice sheath.

Yeah you can see where north is pointing! Right at the rivet! Real shame to what is an otherwise beautiful sheath

Very nice, precision leather work. Those button compasses are little more than a novelty item, though, and are rarely accurate. Putting the blade next to it makes it useless at best

I can understand people involving leather into their reproduction activities. Leather is fucking bad ass.

Everyone has their own way of doing things but this seems like the longest and most tedious possible way to make a sheath.

And the nicest result. Doing things the lazy way gets you a crappy looking / feeling product.

Wool daubers. They can be bought at any craft store. I have even found them at Wal Mart.
