Great looking sheath. Very functional. Everyone has their own way of doing things. After a couple hundred sheaths that I have made I find that I wet my sheath, insert the knife and then press it all in between high density foam for over night. The sheath dries and it fits the knife like a second skin. The little compass was a cool touch.
I've never seen a handle snap with the elastic, that is a BRILLIANT IDEA! I didn't like them because they feel in the way, but I've always wanted one for fear of dropping my knife while climbing, etc., I'm going to have to do this!
Nicely done work. Keep in mind though, having metal that close to your compass can affect the accuracy of the compass bearing reading... knife blade, rivet, etc. Very nice sheath.
+ivan scano te lo meriti! senti, io non faccio mai spam, ma visto che ho trovato un altro italico che lavora la pelle, se ti fa piacere, fai un salto sul mio canale! ;) buon proseguimento!!
Very nice, precision leather work. Those button compasses are little more than a novelty item, though, and are rarely accurate. Putting the blade next to it makes it useless at best
In this video I show you how to make a sheath bushcraft and as I enter a simple compass.if you're intresting to download this template clik here www.etsy.com/listing/25984722...Sorry, that's unavailable. Here are some things you might like instead.
great build ,but! the compass is going to be useless next to metal ie the snaps and or your knife .. looks great though , god bless you and your family ...Lee ..
Nice identical copy of the one Ian Atkinson made in 2011. Anyone interested in seeing the original build of this with actual instructions go visit his channel

JohnnyB8224 Kydex is made this way, and I have thought about trying with leather. Now I am more confident in my assumption.

Yeah you can see where north is pointing! Right at the rivet! Real shame to what is an otherwise beautiful sheath

What is the leather tickness?
Won’t the blade effect the compass.
Che bello tua sei un professo
What kind of knife did you use? To me it looks like a Condor Bushlore
what are the brushes you use for dyeing called and where do i get them ?
Wool daubers. They can be bought at any craft store. I have even found them at Wal Mart.
Can the sheath template be altered for different shaped knives??
Air Marksman Yes.

Why don't you soak the leather in a pan of water.?
I can understand people involving leather into their reproduction activities. Leather is fucking bad ass.
Please speak, It would help the LEARNING process for others.
Everyone has their own way of doing things but this seems like the longest and most tedious possible way to make a sheath.
And the nicest result. Doing things the lazy way gets you a crappy looking / feeling product.
Would be great if you made comments as you work.
