I really appreciate when demonstrators on yt still allow themselves to work like they normally would instead of only a certain way for the camera view. I think it's important for learners to see how a master actually works with a medium. And I love that you talk so much about that aspect of filming vs in person, and that sometimes, like this vid, you let yourself turn your hand like you want. Super important!
I recommend Suzie and Kirsty Meakin’s channels all of the time because you both understand the science of acrylic products and doing nails, and play with design and art. Kirsty uses a thin layer of acrylic under designs too with a similar explanation, and her regular models/clients show that it works.
Do you not do nails? Or are you new here? Lol almost every nail tech knows about adding a thin clear layer first! Susie and Kirsty are definitely not the only ppl that do that.. literally almost everyone I watch here on UA-cam adds a clear layer first.. and just so you know there are 3 reasons as to why you add a thin clear base.. 1. It gives something to file down to when taken off nails when doing a redesign so you don’t continuously keep going at the natural nail with a file.. just take everything off the top till you hit the clear base and then your done! Start making a new nail design on top of the old clear base.. 2. Clear has no pigment so it’s the strongest acrylic you can use.. so you want the strongest acrylic at the bottom when building a nail.. then add color acrylic and art on top then cap in clear to Sandwhich it all in.. like building a house you want cement at the base! Just like Susie and Kirsty say.. then 3. Colored acrylic can be extremely pigmented depending on the color.. so you want to put a clear base down first so it protects the natural nail from staining for all the pigments from the colored acrylic! Does all that make sense? It shouldn’t even matter what color and design your planning on doing you should ALWAYS put a very thin clear base down for many different reasons! Just get in the habit of ALWAYS doing it! Hope my story book I just wrote helps you or someone else out!! That took a lot of effort lol
@@V.I.C. calm down with the holier than thou attitude. I could add a few other nail artists to her list that I watch on here, but to belittle her for stating a reason why she likes watching someone isn't the answer. 👌🤙 Instead hey you should also check out Long Hair Pretty Nails and Emily Susanah if you like Kirsty and Suzie. ❤
At 6:50 I realized that you are the Bob Ross of nail art. I would not throw that compliment around, I mean it! You are so encouraging and relaxing. You also change things up and show how the viewers at home can do theirs differently too! Beautiful work 💜💜💜
I love watching you work. I don't even do acrylic or gel nails, i just do press ons but i cannot get enough of your videos. your creativity and the sound of your voice is mesmerizing...please don't stop
I agree with Joy, Suzie and Kristy Meakin. THE BEST for nail tutorials and expalnations! Also Love LongHairPrettyNails. Thank you all for showing that we may explore and try!
Suzie, I love your backgrounds! Always very classy, subte demonstration of your products that doesn't feel like advertisement, and doesn't make anyone feel obligated to buy. This is very smart, great job, keep it up! Much love x
I can't even imagine what this might look like using a multi-chrome eye shadow! These are beautiful! And I like the 'experimental' one with the clear, white and blue the best!
I'm in love with this because I do my nails at home on myself and can't buy every shade I want and mostly just have white cover peach and clear. And this is so exciting to make that one set or even one nail special. Especially if you have a shimmer!!!!
There are TONS of nail companies that sell to non licensed nail techs! There are hundreds of colors out there I’m sure any color your little heart desires lol I know one company that has 700 acrylic colors lol
I’m new to nails and only have clear acrylic so I added some black gel polish to my monomer and it was so good it looked as black as the real ones, I tried it with pink too, it works, I’m not good at it at all 😅 but if I was it would be amazing
Suzie, I've been watching your videos for years, and your passion and artistry is amazing. Your nails always look fun, bold, and yet still sophisticated. You are teaching very complex skills in a way that a beginner can understand, and you are always so encouraging! You are the ICON! 💙🤍💙
I love watching your videos. Using mortar and pestle to mix your micas in your acrylic will get out the lumps. And it’s less messy and way way less to none dust.
These are so beautiful. The color and design reminds me of the asian dishware we have in our home for special occasions. Absolutely stunning! Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely stunning! Just LOVE Suzie's excitement throughout the vid😁 and Cameraman's support is just the best! Love, love you guys! And it was a nice loooooong video😄🙃💅
Those pictures of you in the 80s were really beautiful! The eyeshadow is so bold and looks good on you. The nails came out really gorgeous. I think the pinky would've been even more beautiful with a matte top coat. Cheers!
I wish we could share pictures on here! I did this with eyeshadow back in the summer on a rainbow pride set and it was alot of fun to do! I love using the powder eyeshadow (loose ones) as well as using eyeshadow as rub on powder (especially the metallic eyeshadow) it's so much fun to play with. So gorgeous as always susie 💚
Not gonna lie, I was always wanting to use eyeshadow but I didn’t know wether it was good for the nail or not. Ps. Love your background! So magical and wintery.
I've tried using a highlighter by tapping it into slightly wet nail polish (when it was still just a bit tacky) very carefully and painting clear polish over it. It looked so nice...
😍😍😍I love the color and I can’t wait to try this out! You’ve also shown me a different way to so a reverse French! I enjoy learning from you so much. Thank you for these videos.
I used to put eyeshadow in to stretch out my collection and customise colours as good acrylic isn't cheap. But I never thought to add it to the bead and create that marble effect. It's stunning! Haha when you mentioned the chalk it made me laugh as I tried that too! Preferred eyeshadow. I'll have to watch the video. It's so nice to be doing nails again and back on UA-cam, my passion is re-egnighted. After a tough few years, toxic relationship, bad break up and having all my equipment ruined (down to pots of gel, acrylics, even polish, glitters and chrome powders) I'm starting again and I'm so happy. Being off UA-cam for almost 5 years makes me realise how far trends & products have come, I love seeing the creativity and freshness of it all.

WOWWWW I didn’t think that it was even possible to mix acrylic powders with eyeshadow let alone just acrylic colors together😲 but it’s soooo beautiful!!! I’m new at acrylic powder but I’m definitely going to try this out when I get to that point of experience 😆
Absolutely beautiful 😍I'm definitely going to try this on a set. Wonder how they would turn out with polygel 🤷🏼♀️❓. Be safe and have a wonderful week love you guys 💕💙

When I start doing acrylics I so want to try this. They're beautiful. Imagine them with a nude pink eyeshadow and a pinky nude acrylic and some glid flakes. It would be like rose quartz nails 💅🏻 xx
Works well with powder blushes, highlighters and, if you really want a nude shade that matches your skin, mineral foundation. Just make sure that your powder doesn’t contain too many oils. You can do your nail extensions first and pick up the colour powder using alcohol and brush it on, then seal with topcoat.
