I absolutely LOVE my G7. I have the same model and not only does it do everything I need, it looks great doing it. : ) And for the price, it feels very sturdy in the hand. Also, it's easy to hold, not too big, not too small, for me. Great video! Keep it up.

Great informitive video. Ordered mine a few days ago. Used to have the canon eos rebel t5 which wasn't terrible but didn't have Autofocus for video and no mic input jack so couldn't add mic and dead cat. Plus, it started making very annoying clicking noises only heard once I started editing the certain clip. So it ruined lots of audio parts in alot of my videos and so I had to start deleting and adding in separate audio. Needless to say, glad I made the switch
G7 is an amazing camera for less than $500. However, I would actually recommend looking into a Panasonic G85. It's less than $800 and it has built-in stabilization which is a game changer. LOLLLLL Welcome to the club brother. Thats why i posted a comment that this camera gives BUDGET QUALITY VIDEO too. You get what you pay for, in this case panasonics early attempts at making a 4K camera. A raw model which could just manage some low grade 4K. It looks equivalent to upscaled 1080p. My canon 550d footage looks amazing with most natural colors etc compared to this shit camera.
your focus is very good, what settings for autofocus you have? mine doesn't do as good job because it has so many option sometimes is really hard to find the best

Ok this camera have a limit of 29 minutes, but it can continuously stream by just capturing the raw footage right? I just bought this camera at the store and all I could find is that it have live view but you being more experienced might know if it can infact stream for hours without shutting down or forcing me to create a new clips every 29 minutes. The only advantages that I can think of that those Canon cameras have over the G7 would be the slightly bigger APS-C sensor and maybe the continuous auto-focus in video mode (on the 70D). Other than that, the G7 has more advantages for UA-camrs specifically.

I think 4k is great on the g7, but it seems for some reason that the video only really looks impressive when you are shooting people. When I switch to shooting video of landscapes or city scenes, the visual flaws seem so much more apparent, and even the 4k resolution does not look impressive. I do both photo/video, and for instagram, the photo performance on the g7 is ok, but I am definitely not sold. Probably gonna look towards the Sony A7siii.

sorry in your opinion for making short films with poses and scenes that shoot from 1 to 5 people even with a bit of zoom, some videos of landscapes and nature, being able to have an external microphone that can be inserted and a battery that lasts at least 2-3 hours, take pictures for open photo contests, without too much pretense and spending less than 500 euros, which is the best camera / video camera? Calculate that I have to record in full hd 60 fps and that I do simple editing and post productions. I already have a smartphone with optical stabilization and the possibility of an external microphone and a canon legria 706 (handy cam) 3 external microphones of which a good and versatile boya, a stabilizing rig and an aluminum tripod of about 128 cm, but for photos I go restricted and for video I go badly for audio and in some situations of light. I've been considering a new camera recently and looking at some Cannon cameras like the 60D but the pros to this camera are just staggering. I love that it still has a viewfinder (my current camera does not and it is my least favorite feature) as well as the addition of many potential lenses and that it is mirrorless. How is the audio on this camera? My current camera doesn't require an mic and I know that might be something I need to invest in with a new camera-- so I was just curious. Did you film this with or without a mic? Thx!

Actually, if you put the G7 into service mode you can shoot as much 4K video as your memory card allows, its kind of a built-in hack.

The only problem with this is the limit on the bulb mode. Only 120 secs.
Look like a great little camera. Having overheating problems on my Sony. Thinking about trading it on a new camera. This might be it.

Does the mic picks up any noise from the autofocus?
The native Lumix lenses with AF are really quiet. I haven't had any issues with AF noise when using this lens: geni.us/Lumix1235

Hey great video! I need your opinion on something, I have a nikon D3400 at the moment, and while it's a great photography camera, it does lack in the videography department. I wanted to know if I did switch to the lumix, which I can already tell is far better at recording video, would I be sacrificing a lot in terms of picture quality from the nikon? Thanks!
Hi Max, thanks for watching. I admit, 99% of the time I use the G7 I'm using it for video. However, I've read many reviews that say it's a great photography camera as well. It does take great photos (of course it heavily depends on the lens) but my suggestion is to read through some of the Amazon reviews because most likely you'll find some that touch on the photography side of things: amzn.to/2milV56

Do you use an external sound recorder with the g7?
I've been considering a new camera recently and looking at some Cannon cameras like the 60D but the pros to this camera are just staggering. I love that it still has a viewfinder (my current camera does not and it is my least favorite feature) as well as the addition of many potential lenses and that it is mirrorless. How is the audio on this camera? My current camera doesn't require an mic and I know that might be something I need to invest in with a new camera-- so I was just curious. Did you film this with or without a mic? Thx!
The audio in this video was recorded with this mic setup: kit.com/AndySlye/zoom-h5-setup. All built-in mics, even on high-end DSLRs, are not very good.
