Let’s be honest here, LSU will be lucky if they win 8 games. You have a QB who is a gun slinger who will not give the defense a run option, he will not run even if the run option is there for him. Teams will key on this and it will cost LSU games. The defense still needs some improvement, cannot tackle.
Good analysis with your points. LSU has a lot of self inflicted mistakes. Defense needs to get better but they played well and showed grit to come back. Nussmeier not running is an issue but the offense plays well. If they can sure up these issues on Defense they can go far. Still, it's laughable when I watch some of these big plays LSU allows to happen. I know this isn't the NFL but college games piss me off at times

Both programs have some discipline issues.

Nice that you gave an honest assessment. I do think you’ve given the qb too much credit. He needs to grow when it comes to how he plays in crunch time, since the goal is a national championship. Yesterday he threw a 101 yard pick-6 with 6 minutes left in the game that would have put the game out of reach if it wasn’t called back. I was trying to think of a game (against a relevant opponent) in the Kelly era that the team went out with a prepared and effective gamelan in place, executed, and played a complete game in all 3 phases where the team was able to coast to victory or at least win without the game in question no matter what the final score may necessarily be and the only games i can think of off the top of my head are Ole Miss in 22 (nearly 3 quarters or certainly a half anyways lsu balled out) and Auburn last year. And not a knock against Kelly as I'm completely aware of the what he had to rebuild when he got here and that we've had pieces but far fewer than needed to complete the puzzle as far as being on the level to legitimately play top contenders and like our chances for not simply being able to hang and give a close game, but come out on top the victor....idk but just goes to show there is still a significant gap in place that ww have to continue to close for us to be where we want and know we can be at, but for now that gap is still quite significant. Good news is we are certainly headed in the right direction and i believe will make significant progress in closing the gap with this recruiting class we'll have coming in
How much would the complexion of the game have changed with those two pick-6’s? Whenever Nuss plays I wonder will he throw an interception? LSU might not have another game all year where SO MANY things go their way. Amazing.
Improbable? The ref absolutely helped lsu out. The worst offense being the personal foul on the pick six late in the fourth. There was absolutely nothing wrong with pushing the lsu qb down with only the hands since the qb was a defender who turned to chase the defensive player who was now the ball carrier. The play almost certainly changed the outcome of the game. But that was just that single call. Listening to the national broadcast announcers stating after penalties against SC that they watched the replay and couldn't see or even understand certain calls from the refs just let you know how bad it was getting.

It was hard to tell watching on TV, but it looked like the fewest LSU fans I’ve ever seen at a game. Looked like the game was sold out, but it looked like a sea of USC fans. Is this a sign of this years expectations for LSU?
Possibly, but he was losing momentum as well. He went down (hope injury isn't significant) because LSU's defense was getting to him more in the back field. So there's a possibility they still wouldn't win even if Sellers stayed in the game.
You sit on the press conferences, no? Can you ask Brian Kelly at the Monday press conference why he continuously struggles to get his team ready to go? He constantly brags about their preparation but why does it never translate?
Brain Kelly isn’t a SEC coach! The team is never ready to play at the start of the game. They wake up in the second quarter. Kelly needs to check HIMSELF, that is where it starts!!!!!!!
I don't normally bet LSU. I couldn't resist when the line fell to 6. I think they would have covered if it hadn't been for the snap into Nuss's chest but they never should have been in the spot they were in.

Matt, we know what LSU is capable of. But the play calling on both sides is terrible, defensive ends should never allow runners to get outside of them. The 3 teams we have played have manage to get out side. If we didn’t have the freshman running back, we would be in trouble.
Starting to feel like Brian Kelly just ain’t built for the SEC. He consistently has LSU underprepared and NOT mentally ready to play SEC football. Starting off soft and lackadaisical.
Tackling. They were terrible at tackling today. Whiffed on numerous big plays. Somebody on the sidelines has GOT to be able to tackle better than this.
Key point. POINTS ARE THE OBJECTIVE. Coach Kelly needs to get that in his skull. Too many times he tried going for it within the 5 yard line and he hasn’t any success to my knowledge. Garret needs to pull that mf mane. He had so many chances to walk in the end zone 😣 There is no way we have possession in their territory and don’t come away with 7 at all. But this better had been that ugly game bc lawd I can’t take no more. And they better not bs against Ucla. We owe them. Shoutout to Caden and AA DEFENSE NEED TO TACKLE BETTER

Have to agree with you Matt, terrible D, very poor special teams and coaching seems weak [ie same problems recurring each week without improvement] - a team looking for an identity and some self-confidence now that the pre-season hype has been exploded and the aspiring “king” has no clothes. Wait until we meet a good team… it could be very destructive. Elmer Fudd his usual inspiring self.

The refs called the penalties SC was guilty of. Are they supposed to ignore the blatant horse collar that caused the interception? Don't rough the passer and it won't get called.
If the refs bailed us out , it’s about time. Last time I remember was 2018 Auburn. LSU has never played a good 11:00 game that I can remember. How many wins? Seven or eight ?

9-3 Kentucky in Q3. Looks like the bulldogs could use a little ref help too?
Are the refs helping Kentucky? Man losers always blame the refs. LSU had over a 100 yards in penalties as well, but only SC was wronged..mmmmk😊
NO EXCUSES LSU played like Shizzzz
How we played a decent South Carolina team with no Dline and had a freshman step up at runner back
A win is a win… we will take it 😂😂😂
Bro did you even look at the stat sheet, yeah penalty wise the game was messy but that was on both sides, and they still won.
South Carolina played worse than LSU. That’s the scary part
Second year in a row the coaches don’t seem able to fix problems that occur every damn game!
ROCK ON MATT GEAUX LSU FIGHTIN' TIGERS GEAUX GOT A W ALL THAT MATTERS MATT
It was hard to tell watching on TV, but it looked like the fewest LSU fans I’ve ever seen at a game. Looked like the game was sold out, but it looked like a sea of USC fans. Is this a sign of this years expectations for LSU?
Agreed on all aspects my friend
If Sellers played that 2nd half you lose.
This was LSU best game all year and SC was robbed
😅😅
Brain Kelly isn’t a SEC coach! The team is never ready to play at the start of the game. They wake up in the second quarter. Kelly needs to check HIMSELF, that is where it starts!!!!!!!
I don't normally bet LSU. I couldn't resist when the line fell to 6. I think they would have covered if it hadn't been for the snap into Nuss's chest but they never should have been in the spot they were in.
Great game. But think the refs became a little to involved in not letting the game be played. On both teams. Go GameCocks
Great game? Lol
I don't see much future for nus and lsu unless he figures out the scrimmage line can be crossed with him caring the ball.
you dont need to have run threat to have a great impact as a quarterback, there are a thousand examples of successful quarterbacks that didnt
@@alecunkel2471that’s not the point this person is making
This team is going to be lucky to get to an 8-4 record in 2024. 💯
Fax
This coaching staff is going to be lucky to get 8-4. The team has higher potential IMO.
I’m beginning to wonder how long BK will be around now.
That sounds about 👍 BK days are numbered😮
@@TonyB-rv9qd i think hes gona get in trouble too, they dont pay 100 mill for teams to play like this, he has plenty of talent coming in with great recruiting, if he cant do it in the next 2-3 years hes out
Ohhhhh. You mean LSU & the stripes beat the Gamecocks.
😅😅😅😅
Sellers may be a bad passer, but he was far better than his backup who played basically the whole second half; otherwise, SC wins the game.
I like your content Bro!!! You admitted yall should've LOST!!! But Brian Kelly is a BETTER Football Coach than Shane Beamer. FACTS 💯!!!
Tell me why our QB can’t run for 3 yards when he open, but when he played behind Ja last year he would throw and run now since his spot not threatened he want even run for a half run
It ain’t as obvious as last year but our big down-linemen don’t look as fit as the opposition - it was so obvious against FSU last year - imho we can look entitled rather than deserving
Matt, we know what LSU is capable of. But the play calling on both sides is terrible, defensive ends should never allow runners to get outside of them. The 3 teams we have played have manage to get out side. If we didn’t have the freshman running back, we would be in trouble.
Agreed!
I don’t understand why we keep saying SC is inferior. They destroyed UK. UK had uga in a chokehold for 4 quarters.
Hilarious how SC wants to blame refs when they blew a 17-0 lead
Starting to feel like Brian Kelly just ain’t built for the SEC. He consistently has LSU underprepared and NOT mentally ready to play SEC football. Starting off soft and lackadaisical.
Sorry man but our linebackers are not that consistent and Witt Weeks was one of the worst yesterday.
Shoutout to Caden and AA
DEFENSE NEED TO TACKLE BETTER
Outside of the busted plays the defense wasn’t that bad. Offense left way to many points on the board this game shouldn’t have been close
You had a full off-season to prepare there is no reason you should be shuffling guys three games into the season like this. When is the LSU AD going to get his head out of his ass and get rid of Brian Kelly once and for all
Have to agree with you Matt, terrible D, very poor special teams and coaching seems weak [ie same problems recurring each week without improvement] - a team looking for an identity and some self-confidence now that the pre-season hype has been exploded and the aspiring “king” has no clothes. Wait until we meet a good team… it could be very destructive.
Elmer Fudd his usual inspiring self.
BK aint it. We're going to be avg for the next 7 years. 0 championships. BK's teams are flat and never ready to play or thoroughly beat up on a team. We look lost and unathletic
Stop crying, LSU won the game. They started 1-0 in conference play.
South Carolina is bad and inferior? Extreme bias
What has Matt Moscono done besides criticize people playing a game he could never play at a high level?
What his job? It’s his job to criticize it 😂 he’s been doing it a long time as well. He watches all LSU sports and gets the inside scoop, then after the game praises or critiques. What else is the media supposed to do? Do better @Archie0908 fuckin keyboard warrior.
5-7 here we come - Matt are you not the joker who has been touting BK and his coaching hires?
"LSU outlasts...😮". There has got to be a better way to say that.
When you are at College level, you should have knowledge of the position you are playing to look as a player of THAT POSITION!
this team has plenty of talent, you really have to blame the coaches for this. they looked worse than they were in the opener.
truckload of penalites, bad play calls, defense not improving at stopping the run, not taking free field goals, poor at red zone, nussmeier looking worse than he did at the beginning of the year, that is coaching
And acting like y’all just made a great comeback without mentioning Sellers gets injured and the refs took 2 pick 6’s away from sc is comical
The refs called the penalties SC was guilty of. Are they supposed to ignore the blatant horse collar that caused the interception? Don't rough the passer and it won't get called.
@@laurapitre5797 we both know that wasn’t a horse collar 😂😂 but it’s all good there’s still plenty of season left
@@deycallmekj6184last year that would have not been a penalty but with the new rule change it most definitely was a penalty
If the refs bailed us out , it’s about time. Last time I remember was 2018 Auburn. LSU has never played a good 11:00 game that I can remember. How many wins? Seven or eight ?
We pounded Mississippi state last year or the year before that at their place at 11am crushed them and played a flawless game in all phases. Refresh ya memory bro
SC should have won this game they are a better team than LSU.LSU will be lucky to win 7 games this year.
Hope BK can hear everything you said here. It’s truly an ugly win today
LSU will be 7 & 5 this year 😂😂.
What about Ole Miss putting over 600 yds offense with 400 yds rushing against that 2019 defense.
And still losing 😅😅
@laurapitre5797 boy, that went right over your pathetic little head, didn't it😆😆😆😆😆
He said the Auburn game was the worst game of the 2019 season. Well, what about the Ole Miss game????
Maybe actually watch the video and have a clue before you comment. The only person you made look stupid was yourself.
lsu run defense legit looking like pop warner out there, guys running up the middle untouched for 50 yards, they are comically bad at stopping the run, their coaches gotta step up their secondary looked pathetic on some of those run plays, its like guys dont want to get in the way of the runningback and get hit so they just sit back passively or take horrible angles or get juked
Back on Nuss Bus.
Matt I hope you apologise to the opposition QB regarding your wholly erroneous pre-game pontifications - he looked pretty decent to me - We/LSU just aren’t nearly as good as they oughta be and certainly not nearly as good as your pre-game impressions [yeah, those consistently over-hyped ones!]
Unreal win. Lsu defense.....?
Game was a ClusterF.
Kelly said, on the SEC Network SEC Final show, a clip from his post game interview "nobody picked us to win" no one thought we would win" ( at 1:20 mark) ua-cam.com/video/WqhwjtTIU8s/v-deo.html....WHAT???? LSU was a 4.5 point favorite....Wake up Kelly!!! Are you delusional or out of touch?? Do YOU really think your players thought everyone thought you would LOSE?? Come on man!!!!! You are NOT coaching Pop Warner players...The Coaching on Defense, Special Teams, and Offense was BAD PERIOD!!! DO YOUR job as coaches!!!!
The part that i see is one week they play well in one area next week horrible in that area next game play well this area bad in other two areas where is the sound football I really am starting to think a lot the players we have are just average not above average I am waiting for a good sound game from them NO busted big plays NO busted coverage which if we all remember was a big issue last year this year coverage is much improved but run defense is horribly bad to many missed tackles to many arm tackles to many over run defenders
Arkansas played a cupcake 🧁 and yet was behind in the first half.
ARKANSAS HOGS, are not LSU!
LSU should be running this schedule out, and that's not a stretch of imagination or delusional!
BK is not 🚫 going to dominate!
Expectations are high, and are not subject to COMPROMISE!
Matt, if you think LSU will beat Ole Miss your on some really good Coke .And I'd like some of it😂
I'm right there with you and I'm going to be at that game. I will say though a night game in death valley crazier stuff has happened. Look what happened almost happened to Georgia yesterday. You never know what college football and especially the SEC. But I don't think hardly any LSU fan is really expecting to win the Ole Miss game at this point
