I’m unsure why anyone would flip a $1,000 USD lens? It’s not adding one wit to the video and likely distractracting from the message. Is this a juggling channel?
Amazing video Eren. One suggestion. Could you place the microphone on a table in front of you rather than holding it all the time. Its distracting from a viewers point of view. Also this will free up your left hand with which you can hold the camera or a lens and explain the concepts in a more engaging way. Cheers!! Thanks again for posting your videos.
I'm surprised to see people wanting an f/2.8 version, but since this lens isn't on that 40 mp resolving list they might get their wish. Something would have to give, though. The zoom range would have to be reduced, and I imagine the build quality would reduce as well, similar to how the 70-300 feels cheaper than the other Fuji telephoto zooms. People would still have a reason to get the 8-16 too if they did that.
I picked up the new version of the lens a couple months ago and I was really impressed with how sharp the images are. Even at f/4. My only complaint is that my copy of the lens can be unlocked from the A position without pressing the lock button. The amount of pressure to screw the lens on and off of the body can cause the ring to shift even when locked. Maybe I have a bad copy. Also, the lens hood kinda sucks.
Great review as always 👍 This lens is very useful for both video and photo as you said... I was considering this lens few years ago when switchnig to Fuji but went for 16mm 2.8 and 23mm f2 instead at the end 😊 I don't shoot wider than 16 and I love small factor of these fujicron lenses
Hi Eren. I have first Version of this lens and using for architectural photography, but if I shoot against Windows in daylight I have all the time blue dot flare in middle of photos. Makes me crazy. Have you ever experience that or do you have some suggestions? Thanks
I really wish they made a f/2.8 version. The 8-16 isn't viable for video due to the front element. I'm actually waiting for Tamron 11-20mm f/2.8 to come to the X-mount. In the meantime, I picked up a used Zeiss 12mm f/2.8 for $350 3 weeks ago, only to realize Samyang just released the 12mm f/2 with autofocus lol. fml Oh I think some other UA-camr has managed to show that the 8-16 f/2.8 has a T-stop closer to T4. So the Fuji 10-24 is only about 1/3 stop darker than the 8-16 f/2.8
How is the aperture ring stiffness on the new one? On the old one it's so loose that I often accidentally change the aperture while rotating camera to portrait orientation or vice versa(so many F/13 shots for no reason 😂).
stiffer, even with the old one though, my one was good but a friend of mine who has the same lens but brought it a year or so before had a much looser ring
Hard call, if the 8-16 is a better photography lens, If you are looking to take architectural shots at a pro level etc its the better choice, The 10-24 is a lot more versatile, great for video too
on the 10-24 I've found shooting at 14mm and voce seems to correct most the issues. I filmed a lot on this lens while in Japan and had pretty good results

I have used this lens, they upgraded the stabilization making it even better for video.
even the old one had decent IS, good to hear the new one has taken things a step further
Does the OIS even matter if the camera (i.e.,X-H2s) has in-body stabilizaiton though?

Yh that's gotta be a bad copy, would be a good idea to let Fuji take a look at it. Agree on the Lens hood

i can only hope for Fujifilm to come up with 10-24 f2.8 instead...that will help to shoot during low light situation and improve the stability.

interesting, I haven't come across this issue, is it possible to get it out in post?
Shoot at a different angle, earlier in the day or use ND filter. Its an ‘orb’ ie internal reflection. The 14 and 16 are better as per ‘the reviewer’.

Yh agree! that Tamron one sounds interesting! Wish Fuji made a 12 prime and updated the 14.
@@erenjam Rokinon announced they're making an auto-focus version of their 12mm F2. Been using the manual one for astro and it's decent.
