    He's embarrassed at his use of the word "filmically" but his use of the word is actually correct. I didn't even know that was a real word. Even Lou didn't always understand Lou's genius.

    It's amazing to see Lou searching for his words. He who found them so well for his "Songs for Drella". It's magic!

    I'm a big fan of the VU, but realistically they'd have gone nowhere without Andy. Even with him they weren't financially viable but the Warhol connection opened doors that a struggling 'art band' could never have opened. After they left Andy's tenure they struggled to maintain recording contracts and played non descript gigs in the back of nowhere.
    Lou Reed is reluctant to accept that truth.

    I knew about Warhol before VU because of being into art pretty heavy as a child. Always thought his work was bizarre because the whole aesthetic was ripping things off essentially. I think Reed did a good thing firing him though, they were interesting when they worked together but quite the opposites art wise. At the time VU were breaking boundaries and Warhol was kind of just in the background like, "hey look at my work" when it was them the whole time. Andy was the boy toy.

    Lawn Guy Land. Using his own accent really added to the songs. Even UK band "Spaceman 3" imitated his accent on their own Velvets inspired songs.

    Hi everyone, I was hoping someone could find for me a little quote by Lou where he says something like I just wanna blow it up. It's when he was older and I believe he mentions Andy. Something about he's still a punk and wants to just blow it all up please help. I had it , can't find it now. Please. It's one of his best quotes.

    Why you kick John Cale out while things were rough? but then came so much success later with there first album! The best. Only band I think where a album can flop but then be resurrected later as one of the best albums of all time!!!!

    • @robertmorley4506
      @robertmorley4506 Рік тому

      Yeah...and it did flop. Essentially, nobody bought it when it came out. Something so raw and ahead of it's time...people couldn't deal with it.

      @@robertmorley4506 true! Only a few dj where playing it and the top djs in the country said it was trash. It’s so amazing to me. I can’t think of any other albums where that happened to such a extreme. I think rolling stone has it as one of the top 10 greatest albums of all time now! Amazing

    • @lovesupreme1
      @lovesupreme1 Рік тому

      @@robertmorley4506 that’s why I personally never liked Lou reed . Cause he kicked John Cale out of the band because those first two albums did so bad originally. He didn’t trust the process and didn’t trust the guy he should of trusted the most. But instead just wanted to become rich and famous. It was more important to him than the music

      Personally I think Lou was sick of hearing that screeching electric viola in his ear every night onstage while he was trying to play rock n’ roll.
      It sounds great on records but dealing with being right next to you for a couple hours every gig would be unbearable.
      I’m sure there were other reasons. But that had to be a factor.

      @@blainecartwright574 So what was Metal Machine Music? Lou just didn't like sharing the spotlight and writing credits. I love Lou but he was a real pos to do business with.

      Imagine getting slabs of people's lives through heresay,also spoken by people you'll never know, and letting this shape your vision of a person. You don't think there's bad stories about Andy and Nico too?

      Nico and John wouldn’t have had anything to play without Lou writing the songs. Your comment doesn’t make logical sense
