I love your videos🕷
I entered to win a Wednesday on your Instagram. I think I was the first person to reply to your post. I'd buy one, but I had to pay for a dental work this month and it left me totally broke. 🥺
Hey Kat, great video as always :) lichen is actually pronounced "lie-ken"
Haha! Thanks 😊
@@tarantulakat
Lol the English language is so messed up. Let’s add letters we don’t need and the rules are only suggestions.
@Albertaguide Twahl actually a lot of weird spelling is a holdover from older pronunciation! You can see this in effect in some places with the words cot/caught, which are in the process of merging fully. Some people will say them the same and others will pronounce them differently
@@r3dak73d-6 I remember a George Carlin bit in which he compared words bomb comb etc. one I’ve never understood at all is colonel pronounced kernel?! Regardless this is a tarantula channel and we speak Latin lol
I know this is a cliche thing to say and you have heard it from so many other people...but watching your videos has TRULY helped me with my irrational fear and phobia of not only spiders but all insects.. So I truly thank you and love watching your content!!!
I like that you showed how the tarantula's settled into their new enclosures near the end of the video once they were finished "decorating" them. Even though it would have been neat to see the final results in more detail, it's not often that we get to see it at all in other Rehousing video's so it's awesome that you took the time to add it here.
lmao, i cannot stop singing/saying "okaaaaay lets go" after my sister showed me that video clip and it was too funny to hear someone else use it the same way we do.
I just had to rehouse my T. schroederi sling and of my 6 spoods she is always the most chill (or so I thought...) She ended up running off the table, across the carpet, up the wall and almost the my ceiling. Thank God for being tall and having a catch cup handy. But then of course after getting her down she wouldn't leave the cup 🙄 Crazy little fiends 🖤🕸
Listen I would 100% buy a chai and matcha plushie set if you made that a regular merch item👀
I work at a chain pet store as a groomer. Everyone knows that I keep tarantulas so when a lady came in asking about tarantulas they came to get me. She was sold a m. Robustum as a b. Smithi. She said is wouldnt stop kicking hair and spinning in circles and that she was terrified of it. I traded her an old aquarium for him. He’s a very happy dude now. He rarely kicks hair too!
@12:07 missing in action your M. balfouri rehouse LMAO!!! Just playing Kat I know you meant M. robustum just had to mess with you a little all in good fun!!! ... 😁😁Great Video as always and I absolutely LOVE the enclosures as always you made them look GREAT!!
love love love rehousings, I just like how you specifically set up enclosures I think. The 360 enclosure looks super cool
That one at the end made me think of Stuart from madtv “look what i can do!” When it did its handstand/cartwheel lol
Hi Kat!! I’m so sorry for not being so active in your beautiful channel that is THE ONE that I LOVE SOO MUCH!!! I really enjoyed this video! Tarantula cribs enclosures are my favorite!!! This new setting is wonderful!!! And I LOVE rehousing videos!! I missed you A LOT!!!
Anyway I’m so happy to be back in your tarantulas world and much love as always for you, Fiona and mr. tarantula Kat!!!! Tons of love!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I have a t. schroederi sling that build RAD tunnels, it’s a really cool species.
yeahhh for my curly hair ive given him quite a bit of substrate and he has made quite a nice burrow.
Kudos to Tarantula Cribs for coming up with new, awesome products that all tarantula keepers will love. I ordered a couple. Thanks again.
Love the way you could see the tunnel they dug up after!
I had asked Tom for a g pulchra. Since he didn't have any he sent me a t schroederi. I'm excited to see it grow 🥰 I have my m robustum in a 10 gallon tank but I think she might be happy in one of these. Hate the spinning butt of death though.
You're the 3rd of my fav Tarantula UA-camrs featuring a M robustum. I think that's a sign that I need one 😂 Also, I like that those enclosures don't have a seam. There's another company that makes cylinders but I can't not see the seam down one side. Great enclosures for a showcase species.
Just letting you know if you GENTLY use the other side of a paint brush or a chopstick, tarantulas tend to flick less hair. The bristles on paintbrushes annoy them. Very beautiful T!
Awesome rehouse Kat... Are you wearing a 'Falling In Reverse' T'shirt ? 🤘😸. I do love those enclosures.
Thx just picked up a few
I have booming Isopod colonies. I don't know "out of Springtails" concept. When isopods are happy, my Springtails are happy. Isopods are fun
Was so happy to see this video, been looking at the 360 cribs for some of my spoods and then to see the Tliltocatl vagans, I am getting mine on Tuesday and super excited.
I’ve been on the fence about these. The look great, but I worry about space saving. I feel like the square or rectangular ones fit better in spaces and would be better at stacking. I do really like the look though…
I feel the same, kinda. I wonder how losing a little of the "roaming" room for my terrestrials would affect them at all. Not like they'd be losing A LOT or anything, but I know my a chalcodes enjoys getting out from time to time and roaming around. It's probably just a preference for the owner lol
Love your eyeliner!
I absolutely love watching your videos.(actually addicted) and wait for new ones to be added 🤣 I think I’ve watched them all 🫠 never thought I’d be into tarantula vids! I think you’re amazing & you have such a calming voice ❤️
Great job rehousing your babies Kat!!! Love the enclosures too. Tyfs God bless you
T schroederi is the only Tliltocatl I need in the genus but it’s proving almost impossible to find!
Great vid today!!
You buy tarantulas like I buy board games 😂 "It looked like it needed a new home! I *had* to buy it!"
I gave my b hamorii enough substrate, as well as a pretty hide
she just sits there being derpy & never hide or burrow lol
I absolutely love those 360 enclosures!!
Just picked up a Tliltocatl schroederi because of this video!!! I’m very excited! 🤩🤩🤩
Your doggie looks adorable!
I have a sling t. Schrod. And it finally molted to a black color! Can’t wait until it gets bigger!
Great rehouse video. I have so many to do.
I realy like the small slingbox you use to catch the first one wish i could get it over here
Well done.
Awesome enclosures tarantula kat
Those round enclosures look so nice 😊
My 360 fossorial enclosures arrived last week. They look good. I thought I would try them to see if my Ts would alter their tunneling/burrowing behavior since there are no corners.
Love them T's that make awesome burrows. And plz kat do an updated on Mary Jane! Love your videos keep up the hard work.
They look awesome!!! I really like the look of these for fossorial species.
I enjoyed watching the re-housing video. Love your channel :)
Spider highlights, what's not to love?
We need some tarantula cribs in UK too!!! Great video as always ☺️
Those enclosures are so nice. I'm jealous
M robustum sez: "Face down, a$$ up, that's the way I like to. . . kick hair!"
I definitely like the square or rectangular enclosures more because they are more efficient with use of space but this idea is cool for easy viewing.
T.schroederei can be hard to find at times, not necessarily unpopular. I have one ordered from Micro Wilderness but have to wait for the weather to get out of the 20s lol
Iv been looking for ages as it’s the only Tliltocatl I need but they are like gold dust.
Love this video, made me laugh! love the cylinder shape of these enclosure so nice! Also loved your outfit reminds me of earluy 2000's!
When you if you want something bendy you could use something like a pipe cleaner maybe a really really fuzzy one where you can't see the metal or maybe you can make something that's fuzzy with a flexible inside.
My psalmopoeus pulcher likes to hang out underground.
Maybe someone can invent a suction cup to put water in for those spider homes.
The mossy stuff just as an FYI it's pronounced like lie-kin. But my heart melted when you said it the way you did. They really couldn't have made the English language any more complicated it's just too easy to make things sound like the way they look. 😂
Hey Kat! New sub here. Me and my daughter started watching because for years she’s been wanting her very own tarantula and me being very arachnophobic have said no but finally agreed. We want to be as knowledgeable as possible before getting it. We decided on a Brazilian blue dwarf beauty off fear not tarantulas but I’m going. To give it a few more months to make sure we know everything and are as prepared as possible. Lol I’m honestly excited myself now which is so so weird for me but your videos have made me see how cute they can actually be. If it’s not asking too much could you show a video with a Brazilian blue dwarf beauty, I think I’ve seen you had one but I could be completely mistaken. And what are your thoughts on that breed for my excited 12 yr old? Thank you for the content and I will definitely continue to binge your work.
Good luck... it’s gonna be a tiny little sling !!!!!
Good luck to the both of you! Took me the better part of a year before I finally bought my sling and I'm so happy for all the prep and research I did! Joining a tarantula group on something like Discord or Facebook is a great help too, I still have questions and they're a great resource. Ts are fascinating creatures with a bigger range of personality than you'd expect! Have fun with your new pet!
Def would go with an avic avic for your daughter for beginners 💗 sweet and docile T. Easy care as well
Yay you uploaded
Great video!! I'm looking forward to adding a Wednesday to my spider collection since I am probably not going to have a real velvet spider! I loved the T. sabulosus shout out, my Gwen Stacy is a T. sabulosus and she is gorgeous. Also am going to try to get a Psalmopoeus victori or whatever the heck those things are called for my birthday so love any insight into Psalmopoeus care.
Oops, you did a Schidori (I know I spelled that wrong) - still cool, that's my Venom!
Need something bendy to use in those small places get a couple pipe cleaners and braid them together they're soft but stiff enough to do what you need done.
These are pretty cool!! I like these, they make it easy to see them at most angles. Also, is it frowned upon to use green plants?
I always wanna see greenery, but I don't see people use it a lot
Just noticed something I would change on the enclosures, if they could stack. Like if there were feet on the bottom or (horribly) a foot ring you could buy to let air flow between the enclosures.
Was literally waiting to see if you'd do a video with the new 360 enclosures lol 🤣 love these! Maybe a weird question, but did you have a harder time finding a place to display these enclosures due to their shape? 🤔 I can imagine it would be hard to put them with the standard square enclosures since you can't stack them (or maybe that's just me)
Labels Kat! Labels!
Nooiuuuuuu later 😉
Just an FYI Lichen(the alga on the cork) is pronounced Like-en.
Any good suggestions for sling enclosures in the UK
I need help, please. I have a T. apophysis that molted on it stomach 2 days ago. It started walking but dragging the molt under itself, that's when I realized the right fang and pedipalp didn't come out of the molt. I got most of the molt off but not off its face. Any suggestion on what to do. Thanks
12:10 m balfouri 😂
I've had G. pulchra on my list for a little bit, but now seeing the T. schroedei I'm thinking of adding it too! Thing is I pulled up pics of both and I can't visually tell the difference between them. What is the difference? I already have a T. albo sling but I'm not averse to another Tliltocatl type!
I'm lichen these new enclosures! ;)
Hahaha
Not sure if I somehow missed an update on how ur purse web spider is. But I was curious about this guy. I was thinking about getting one and wanted to know what ur thoughts on this was.
Also i rehoused into the crib360 4 in. My 1.5 gbb
can you explain what hair kicking is'
Lichen is pronounced like-un. I didn't have a clue until I studied biology in university. So don't feel worried about pronouncing things perfectly. Every day's a school day for those bright enough to listen.
Tarantula kat.... cute outfit love it 😃❤
Kats got a jar of dirt
i love your rehousing and feeding videos so much, they're always a lot of fun to see your collection and how you decorate your spiders enclosures! what soil brand do you use? my tarantulas don't seem to like to burrow in the eco earth i use, i think it's because it doesn't seem to hold well when the enclosure dries out and me having desert species.
She uses Reptisoil
Reptisoil! It's a blend of soil, peat and coco fibers that acts like dirt. It's in my T. albo enclosure, and I even used it to repot a succulent I have that desperately needed it, it's actually listed as a potential use for it. Succulent is growing like mad now!
I got so confused and thought i missed something when you accidentally said you rehoused the m balfouri 😅
Hey Kat what was the first T you rehoused?
Hey Kat, I was wondering if you would ever get a six eyed sand spider
greetings from the Indonesian tarantula community
those are some really nice enclosures! I currently need to rehouse my GBB I think and maybe get some new enclosures on reserve for my Dwarf species. So maybe I'll grab one, Think it would be nice for a GBB?
What is a spring tail
I am pretty sure I could never be a spider. I hate tight enclosed spaces. 😂
Lichen is pronounced with a long "I" and a hard "k" sound, like "liken", or lai ken.
Kay, will the M Robustum be able to stay in that enclosure or do you plan to do another rehouse?
Trying to do as few rehousings w these as possible and I just picked one up today.
Hya I'm absolutely petrified of spiders but since watching your channel I've fell in love with the jumping spiders 😍 how many spiders do you have now an how do you keep track of feeding schedules? Thanx
I already have an uncharacteristically spicy Chilean Rosehair.... I don't need a m. Robustum.... I don't need a m. Robustum.... I already have a spicy pinkish hairy potato who kicks hairs like crazy and threat postures.... I do NOT need a cartwheeling buffalo sauce hairy potato to also flick hairs at me during rehousings or tank maintenance....
2 comment what is good kat awesome video today you are the best and the greatest keep it up you always inspire me everyday 👍💯💪💪💯👍👍💯💪💪💯💯👍👍
I have a curly hair tarantula and I want to hold it so bad but I'm a little scared. Much less scared than before. I just don't want to get bit or her to fall and die. In time when she decides to come out on her own. I tried sizing her enclosure up but she wouldn't eat so I just put her back in her enclosure she came in. She's a juvenile. I also have a sling. It's so tiny. I will offer food in a day or so, see if that's the issue.
Update: She took food!!!!! Woohoo! Guess she was just freaked out in the new enclosure.
The first time I handled a tarantula I sat in a bath with a thick blanket or pillow and held the tarantula low so if it fell it would be okay and wouldn't be able to get away fast enough, also you could have a cup ready but you probably won't need it and I don't think you really have to worry about bites as long as it isn't giving you threat postures when touched.
@@shanecrimmins87 She is the sweetest. I don't see her biting me but animal that don't talk are unpredictable. But every video I watch in less worried about things happening and more confident. Thank you for that advice.
How do you differentiate a male and a female jumping spider?
Would these work for a GBB?
How fo you differentiate a male and a female jumping spider?
Balfori??
Would this work for an adult M. ROBUSTUM?
Ooh I've just finished commenting on another video about a fictional story of an orangutan k3ller going around looking for his enemy and wreaking havoc in cities. I'll probably copy and paste it tomorrow
Hey Kat, any way I can email you and ask you few questions?
Arachnophobia person here... so I don't know anything...LOL I have to ask though... what are springtails and what do they do? Thanks soooo much in advance to the person that answers this question!!
Shouldn’t that of been I hate that journey for you
First hi Kat
I'm blind, so I'm literally only listening to your bideos. I have a question... Do you ever pick up your spiders with your bare hands?
