Why not just build 600- 800 Foot Lock System like we have on the Mississippi River? In cases where there is lots of traffic, 1000 Foot Locks. Looks like there is only a 1.5-3.0 foot drop in the rivver, a "Lock Through would be fast.
Boy that was a lot of water coming out of the dam. Could you do a video on where these boats are made especially the wooden boats. Thank you for the great video I enjoy watching them here in the United States
Some one should anchor a boat with a powerful winch cable upstream from the dam gates. Then have a dockyard matey standing on the dam and when a boat is not strong enough , he hooks on really quick and then he charges the captain a few dollars to haul him through the hard part. You and I could go into business, what do you think?

After watching quite a few of these it really seems like the ones that have the most trouble are the ones that just steer at the wrong time over correct constantly and cut the throttle at the wrong time. A few are underpowered but it seems like much more are just terrible at being a captain lol.
That is what I thought. If a barge looses momentum they are dead in the water until they are spit out backwards. You go in at speed and never cut power until you are out the other side.

The first guy was doing way to much steering at the last moment. Once he made contact with the gate he was done.
