Getting any rank is acquired by getting enough points in the level. You can get either a D, C, B, A, or S Rank based on your performance at the end. Getting to B isn't too difficult if you're aiming for most of the collectibles in a level, but if you want to hit S rank you will have to pull up some leg work.
To get a P Rank in a level, it is expected that you do the following things within one run of any level:
Kill an enemy before leaving the first room
Get enough points for an S Rank
Find all toppins
Find all secrets
Get the secret treasure
Go through the Lap 2 portal

I feel like the two are opposites. Fake pepino is constantly happy in situations where he should be concerned, and pepino is constantly anxious and scared in places where he is easily dominating.

The first nerf was removing Fake peppino's rubberband that kept him on screen, allowing for mach running to actually be viable
He does have rubber-banding up to a point. He can't keep up with Mach-3, but he does catch up shockingly fast if you can't keep your speed up.
Yeah I remember him easily keeping up with me when I played this stage and mach ran the whole way.

God you have no idea how messed up this boss was before release. The chase sequence was the tamest part of it.

@@honeymushroom6283 I presume that they nerfed its speed. Originally the boss' had a rubber band like speed resulting in it being roughly just offscreen the entire time until you bonked on a wall. The best way to deal with it was to just walk instead since the results would just be the same either way except now you could properly react to what's coming up. Here, Crayola leaves it completely in the dust while when I did roughly the same I barely escaped by the skin of my teeth.

@@someguy70 Pretty sure when the game released, Fake Peppino’s speed nearly mimicked whatever speed you were going, making it very difficult to try and outrun him even though he was just a bit slower.
What gets me about Fake Peppino is how much the game DOESN'T go into him. You don't defeat him, you run away from him and even when you do, he's still peeking from inside the door. He doesn't make any other appearances in the hub unlike the other bosses, he's hidden away in the intro, his icon for the chef task is just pure black, and we're just left with the assumption that he probably works at this barred up Bruno restaurant which has clones (oh yeah he has clones, just, as one does) lurking in every area along with trash bags with fucking body parts coming out of it.
fun fact: there is artwork (i think after the credits or something) of fake peppino and normal peppino both taking out the trash, staring at each other, with fake peppinos bag having limbs in it, which either means fake peppino works for peppino or fake peppino is working at his old resturant like you said and is using peppinos trash can for some reason
he does follow you out of the tower at the end!
There are so many questions about it: is fake peppino a hivemind of every body part you see or are they separate and some of them so screwed up they can't even think properly? Why are some clones like humans and are some slugs like the one in the pizza box? Are they conscious at all? Why are there so many "successful" fake peppinos?

I love how you don't even technically beat the boss. You just escape it as it chases you down.
No bosses actually get beaten.
-Pepperman is in the next floor, making graffiti od his perspective of the battle.
-Vigilante chills in Noisette's cafe (secret room)
-Noise is in the laundry room (secret), sitting and seemingly riding a jumping laundry machine.
To sum it up, every boss after beating goes to the next floor.

You can beat a boss without killing them, so the other bosses do actually get beaten, it’s just that they get up afterwards.
I like to think fake Peppino makes his pizzas just a little bit off:

Too many mushrooms
Too much crust
Pepperoni under the sauce

i love the fact that if you’re quick on attacking fake peppino the music syncs to his wall run
for some odd reason, i love this goofy yet uncanny looking gremlin more than anyone else in the game. maybe i'm just into freaky shapeshifting monsters or something.
He looks so funny, bro's just a silly lil guy trynna do peppino's thing, he gives me the vibes of an eldritch abomination who looks and acts extremely weird but is actually a super-friendly guy (yeah he tried to kill us but PizzaFace ordered everyone else to do the same thing so i'd say he's excused)
@@suspiciousamogus personally he gives off the vibes of an initially terrifying abomination-like dude who's actually a big sweetheart beneath all that, and whose only goal at the end of the day is to try and fit in with everyone despite everything about him. i think the way you view him is just as cool tho.
I always loved the concept of the being that tried mimicking something but was just plain...*off* in it's approach, even creeping into body horror territory, sadly not many media does such a thing, either going for the shadow, evil self, or robot approach.
@@SulphurMind same bro. don't get me wrong, i'm all for the usual stuff that's thrown in, especially the robot stuff, but it does get a little tiring seeing the same thing sometimes. it'd be nice to see something like fake peppino in modern media someday. hell, if the chance of a pizza tower show (or at the very least a miniseries) was ever announced, i'd be jumping on the bandwagon to support it in a heartbeat just to see more of fake peppino.

Shoutout to Fake Peppino's design and animations specifically. Aside from the whole "oh this some weird melty thing wearing skin like a mask" vibe, I'm picking up some hints of bugs and amphibians. Dude hops around like a frog, and his legs look like they're segmented. And yet, all he wants is to be acknowledged as The Real Deal, and ultimately seems excited about everything, be it fighting against or allying with the guy he's supposed to be a clone of. He's silly and terrifying at the same time, love that for him.
He's definitely frog-like seeing how the peppino clones in WAR also have frog-like characteristics (they ribbit too)
I like how Fake Peppino's moveset isn't a straight upgrade over yours. If he superjumps into the ceiling, he dissolves, and there's a limit to how high he can jump without that. Meaning while he has more offense, he's less mobile.
Mildly unnerving and I like that. The direct cartoon inspirations of this game's aesthetic were also known to have an episode or two (or three) where something eerily crazy stood out amongst it's already batshit insanity. It would be weird to not have a stage or boss like this when I think about it.

What we're all seeing here is a wacky little game schooling every single indie horror FNAF wannabe in terms of sheer creepiness. Peppino having to face multiple, oozing, dripping clones of himself, only to have to outrun a horrifically mutated version of himself, and executed with both a feeling of existential dread and goofy, cartoony fun? THIS is how it's done, people.
Not to mention how this fake pizzeria used to belong to some poor pizza chef named Bruno. What happened to him?

This boss fight just reminds me of Earthworm jim so much. It just seems like the sort of thing you'd see in those games, same kind of vibe to me.

the best part about p ranking the level isnt that you p ranked it, but its that you never have to touch the level ever again in your life.

Even thought Fake Peppino is as goofy as the real one, there's sonething uncanny about him
I like how at 1:47 the background changes, these are the changes i saw:
-"Nothing Compares!" Man now looks fake n stuff, and also has spam for the speech.
-"Peppino's Pizza...2?" Now just says "Peppino peppino" and the icon is deformed.
-Theres a hand sticking out of the garbage bag
-Theres a face sticking out of the pizza box
-Theres eyes outside the boards
-Theres a leg coming out of the other garbage bag that has a bone originally.
-Theres a leg coming out of the background in the top left corner

What I like about this fight is that at first the background is sorta normal. With two Peppino mascots one with a pizza mascot saying “nothing compares” and the other one next to a sign that says “Peppinos Pizza 2”. But when you make it to the second round the place distorts. Now the mascots look disturbed. There are body parts coming from the trash and in the pizza boxes. All the text on the signs is scrambled and someone watches through the walls as Peppino fights Fake Peppino

This boss is actually pretty easy when you learn his patterns and understand what is going on, but my god, the rng with the fake Peppinos in a row and throughout the second phase fucked me over so many times geesus
I had to look at the wiki to beat the second half because I was wearing the bone breaker outfit, which makes phase 2 nearly impossible.

The fake fakes have darker clothes than the real fake.
So if you wear dark clothes for the fight, you can easily lose track of the real fake in a sea of fake fake Peppinos.

If I had to guess, Bruno was probably a previous victim of the tower, whose pizza place got absorbed into it. He probably got ate by Fake Bruno.
Fun fact for those trying to speedrun. You can hit Fake Peppino while he's doing the mach run if you hit him from the back while he runs across the ground. It's tricky to do it without getting hit, but you can pull it off. I've done it a few times haha.

This is the only boss aside from Pizzaface that I think is truly malevolent. Peppermans kind of inscrutable. The vigilante pursued his own ideas of justice, the noise is basically a prank channel on UA-cam. Fake Peppino will gruesomely murder you and replace you, and psychologically break you while doing it. Even it’s screams when you hit it aren’t so much out of pain as they are a response to make you listen to your own voice in agony.
I like to think of him more like an animal or gir from invader zim

Vigilante limits your movement options by removing your grab, and spams projectiles, really annoying boss to deal with
ive p ranked the first 4 bosses and i gotta say, the noise was the hardest one to p rank, with the easiest being obviously pepperman

Something interesting I noticed: you can tell the real fake Peppino from his clones by the clothing. The clones wear a darker shade of what Peppino’s wearing(in this video’s case they’re gray while Peppino and fake Peppino wear white)

disturbing fun fact : when fake peppino is behind the wooden bars things he can easily crush them down and kill us,he just lets us live.
He might not be the hardest penultimate boss, but his uncanny appearance and the theme song being a twisted version of Pizza Time is really what makes him a good boss nevertheless.
I mean, everything about Fake Peppino is creepy especially since:
- You don't actually defeat him, you ESCAPE him.
- He forgets to reset his health bar for the second phase for a few moments, like it does not apply to him at all.
- Before his boss fight, everything about him is kept hidden, even in the intro cut scene (His silhouette is there, but it's hard to tell who he is.)
Not much is known about him even after being revealed. Like is he a clone from the WAR level, a cheeslime that was merged with Peppino's DNA to copy his pizza recipe, or is he a manifestation of the pizza tower, made from Peppino's fear of becoming part of a soulless corporate entity who only cares for the profit, not the food?
Either way, I really like this boss.

Maybe Bruno was a rival to peppino and his pizzeria was closing down because peppinos pizzeria was getting more costumers than him, so he did something to himself that transformed him into this shapeshifter and make him be able to clone himself, and he did all that só he could replace peppino and become as famous as him

Just coming back and comparing chase sequences. can’t tell what is more challenging, this level geometry and the varying speed of FP, or the set speed value and wider corridors in the new version.

It took me so many attempts to do this in my main save file that i had to wait until it got nerfed to do it.
And then i P Ranked this on complete accident while doing my all treasures in under 2h 15m to get the John Suit.
Funny how things work out sometimes.
The only reason why you might think the visuals can overwhelm you is because you think that everything will not change for example, when clone peppino drops from the ceiling he hits the ground and you think that he can still damage you when he had touched the ground but the clones actually he changed are isn't able to deal damage when he hits the ground, if you know all of this, you have less to worry about and can focus much better

Fake peppino can run machs beyond Pepinno's to the point where he can run across most surfaces, which implies that, if in regular form, fake peppino could easily outrun real peppino.
I like this guy! I don't know what the whole deal with the fake Peppinos acting and sounding like frogs is, or why they seem to have been made in the War level where the also behave like frogs, but who cares

Fun Fact: while i was exhausted from p-ranking pizzascape i decided to try to Atleast get an A rank on Fake Peppino and one thing that made it 10% easier for myself and that was the frog jump attack on the first phase and i figured because the clones walk to you i decided to *stand still* and guess what they all missed and i got the A Rank

Fighting game logic. You can't parry a grab, and it's meant to mock a fighting game through the splash screen entering in, so probably both a Homage and intentional balancing.

When i p ranked this boss i found out, you can actually stay mostly stay still for the first two phases. For the first you will need to jump to dodge the dashes by the fakes, but you literally don't need to move at all for the frog phase.
