    The food in Kaohsiung (and for that matter all of Taiwan) looks like it absolutely lives up to its reputation. Can't wait to try these in person 😋

    18:15 那是台灣的地瓜(甘藷),它只是裹上一層薄薄的粉而已,沒有沾上醋醬。台灣的地瓜非常美味。
    It was sweet potato from Taiwan, and it was just coated with a thin layer of flour, no vinegar sauce. Sweet potatoes in Taiwan are very very delicious.

    I love Ruifeng Night Market most because it's like a giant playground. Taiwanese night markets can be categorized into two types: on a street or on an open space. The latter is rare in Taipei area. So Ruifeng is surprising to Taipei people like me. And just a piece of local knowledge : Many night markets are born near either a temple or an university. It's because these're places where many people gather together.

      Oh, it makes sense that's where the markets would be, now that you mention it! I like that there are two different kinds of markets - the variety is 👍

    If you don’t know which food stall to choose in Taiwan, there is a trick, that is to find an older chef, most of them are delicious, just like the older lady who fried noodles in the video.

    烤玉米上面的醬有沙茶醬和醬油及其他香料 沙茶醬是台灣特有的 吃火鍋時都會用到 (台灣火鍋也很值得一試) / 當地人推薦的炸物叫做鹹酥雞 也是台灣特有的小吃 可以說是人氣最高小吃 應該不太有人不喜歡 / 薯條上面加的粉應該是梅子粉 才會有酸酸甜甜的口感 梅子粉也是台灣特有的 有些水果(如:芭樂 木瓜 蓮霧 西瓜)會加上梅子粉 更好吃 沙茶醬/鹹酥雞/梅子粉 都是這幾十年來台灣人開發出來的特色飲食

    Everything looked so good in this episode. Love and miss the roasted corn. Never had the salt pepper mixed basket… usually they just warm it up in the typical soy sauce, five spice broth. Thanks for bringing back memories.

    I would say that those scooters are annoying and these people do know they violate the law and affect other people. But they still do it as if they don't know it. Those are the bad sides of the kaohsiung City and should be corrected right away.

    • @TalesFromOurPocket
      @TalesFromOurPocket  Рік тому

      We were surprised to see them at the tourist market, because we had read online that they closed that street to traffic during the night market! Guess you can't believe everything you read online. 😉

      @weiting-chi104 Рік тому +2

      No. I don't believe it. I don't know if the police will fine these crossing scooters when they catch them. People should be more considerate in these "international" night market. @@TalesFromOurPocket
      I am really appreciated for your introduction of the city with respect to food in the night market. You tried your best to taste everything that you could. That is a tough job especially when those scooters flew behind you.
