It was sweet potato from Taiwan, and it was just coated with a thin layer of flour, no vinegar sauce. Sweet potatoes in Taiwan are very very delicious.
I love Ruifeng Night Market most because it's like a giant playground. Taiwanese night markets can be categorized into two types: on a street or on an open space. The latter is rare in Taipei area. So Ruifeng is surprising to Taipei people like me. And just a piece of local knowledge : Many night markets are born near either a temple or an university. It's because these're places where many people gather together.
The mystery seasoning powder is “plum” powder. Many foreigners say taiwanese sausage taste sweet😂. Mix fried food is Taiwanese salt crispy chicken .(鹹酥雞)This is transitional taiwan night snack.😋
If you don’t know which food stall to choose in Taiwan, there is a trick, that is to find an older chef, most of them are delicious, just like the older lady who fried noodles in the video.
Everything looked so good in this episode. Love and miss the roasted corn. Never had the salt pepper mixed basket… usually they just warm it up in the typical soy sauce, five spice broth. Thanks for bringing back memories.
Still Taiwan vlog!? 😂 don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. You guys have done such gorgeous vlogs about the country with great details it's very impressive!
Yessss. Eating can definitely be an adventure! I think we were just starting to figure that out in Japan, and then eating in Taiwan really drove home that idea. ❤️
I would say that those scooters are annoying and these people do know they violate the law and affect other people. But they still do it as if they don't know it. Those are the bad sides of the kaohsiung City and should be corrected right away.
We were surprised to see them at the tourist market, because we had read online that they closed that street to traffic during the night market! Guess you can't believe everything you read online. 😉
No. I don't believe it. I don't know if the police will fine these crossing scooters when they catch them. People should be more considerate in these "international" night market. @@TalesFromOurPocket I am really appreciated for your introduction of the city with respect to food in the night market. You tried your best to taste everything that you could. That is a tough job especially when those scooters flew behind you.
The food in Kaohsiung (and for that matter all of Taiwan) looks like it absolutely lives up to its reputation. Can't wait to try these in person 😋
Oh man, it was SO much better than we expected! You'll love it, I think!

Oh, it makes sense that's where the markets would be, now that you mention it! I like that there are two different kinds of markets - the variety is 👍

The must go in Kaohsiung for me is the Ruifeng night market. Love the vibes there and great food.
The variety there was amazing, too!
What an awesome Taiwan trip you'll got to experience! Thanks for sharing!
So happy to see you two have so much fun in Taiwan
I think it's my favorite trip since we started the channel (this is Heather)!

Omg, that is SUCH a good tip. Thank you!!
You two are so cute!I like ur video so much. Welcome to Taiwan!
Thank you very much! 😊😊
Welcome to Taiwan and thank you for sharing Kaohsiung food with Chinese subtitles
Thank you for watching! And I'm glad the subtitles were helpful. 😊😊

😂😂 When we say at the end of videos that we have a lot more to come on Taiwan, we mean it! We still have the whole east coast. 😉😍
@@TalesFromOurPocket whoa, look forward to them! 🤩
This is the 4th video from Kaohsiung and you seems enjoying Taiwanese local foods a lot here at night market.
We honestly loved Kaohsiung! (And the food!)
I love your videos, you are so open minded to try local food here in Taiwan.
7:50 The sweet flavor is from sausages. Taiwan's sausages is sweet.
They were honestly so much better than most American hot dogs - which are super salty (some are better than others, but speaking generally).
This video demonstrates why people said eating could be an adventure as well.

The dumplings was my childhood favorite. I can’t believe that you guys visit my home town.
From the same stall? Gosh, they were so delicious! And popular. 😁😁
@@TalesFromOurPocket yes, just like 50 some years ago.

Can’t wait to try the hotdog!
It was so unique!!
Nice review. I always go to Taiwan but don't take time to explore the night market.
Oh, you're missing out! Please try one the next time you go. 🙏😊
Food is so good 😋😋👍👍
Yes, magic motors. The edge of people in Taiwan.
The sauce on the corn is Taiwanese BBQ sauce. It’s called Sha-Cha Jiang 😊
Oh thanks!
Sha Cha Jiang is Taiwanized satay.
welcome to kaohsiung😊
Thank you!
🎉
That's a place I'm familiar with, thank you.

Those are not crape dough. Those are Taiwanized Roti Prata from Singapore.
The fried thing is our national food.
The fried box was amazing. Your national food was delicious! 😂😁
So delicious!!
