Hey everyone, here's my review on the Nighthawk Sandhawk. Previously seen on the Sage Patreon; if you want the latest and exclusive Sage content, check out patreon.com/sagedynamics
This is one of my bucket list handguns for sure! I saw one at their booth during the Indianapolis NRA show and they are just incredible. One day. Thank you for the video!
You should look into the Phoenix Trinity H-TAC duty gun... Let me know if you want to review it, I can provide it to you since we're close to each other~! :)
Something else I love about comps is how clean my light stays. Like zero carbon build up. Speaking of ODG, I think of you every time I shoot my CZP01 in ODG.
Maybe it was from growing up seeing so many professionals in OD green uniforms in the news and in movies but I always associate the color with someone who knows what they're doing.
@andreivaldez2929 most of my Gucci ARs are odg or odg and fde. It's just a sexy color combo. Even odg shoes, clothes, watches and my wife's purse and a few dresses. It's just a sexy and very classy color
Love my Nighthawk Firehawk. Just picked up the DPP plate for it - the RMR holds it back too much for me. Glad to see the Acro doesn't create cycling issues.
Have the sandhawk with the acro on top and a surefire x300 ultra. Yeah, I had to sell a rifle setup to afford it, but it’s the only pistol I shoot anymore. My Glock, sig, and Cajunized CZ just sit in the safe now. The nighthawk is just that fun to shoot. If the nighthawk is too much money then the staccato XC is comparable in performance if not in fit/finish/aesthetics
Thanks for sharing this vid. Just curious which gun would you consider the best you own? I know you say it’s subjective, but if you had to choose one, which one would it be? Thanks!
That Nighthawk is pretty Sweet. Great review as usual. Question: When a company asks you to review an optic, do they also provide or help with ammo? Doing those 500 round burn downs isn't cheap! I just spoke with C&H and we were talking about you & they said they sent you a few optics for review so it got me wondering about ammo.
A little late to the game and you may have already answered this previously but how does this stack up to the PHATWMG (Chambers)? I currently have the PHATWMG in 38 super and looking to get an additional in 9mm. Any insight is greatly appreciated my friend. Love the content. Blessings.
Amazing video brother off topic but quick question. Which back up irons do you think work best when using a red dot on a handgun? Night sights, fiber optic, blacked out sights?
I built a p365 macro with an rmrcc. So I’d say work, defensive, and conceal carry. I was debating between blacked out sights or nights sights with the rmrcc. Thought I’d get the opinion of a pro.
Great review. I have one in production, I have about 19 months to go…. Can you please provide the Safariland ALS holster model number I see around 12:30 minutes?
The comp acts like an island aka Atlas Artemis, to where the comp sits/rides on slide and doesn't have that tilt in the barrel like every other 2011 or polymer striker gun.
I also had a problem with Atlas magazines. when I spoke with someone at Atlas, they said that Nighthawk, has a lower feeder ramp to make it more reliable but their magazines don’t work with it
As much as I enjoy shooting my Atlas Titan RDS, it did not do well with a 100 rnd burn down. It got VERY hot and the slide got sluggish causing malfs. A stronger spring might help that, but I got to shoot an almost new TRS COMP and it ate up 300 rounds straight. I will likely be selling my Atlas and getting one of these.
Dear Aaron, can we hope to see a review of the new Trijicon RCR and the updated RMR-HD here on your youtube channel once the NDA lifts? Would love to see it, since you have inadvertently become the de facto industry standard of optics testing.
Love the OD green and looks of the Sandhawk but I would rather go XC with a Cheely E2 aggressive grip and flat Everglades trigger. Dont like how you have to pay extra for a Ambi thumb safety on NH and its a cerakote in comparison to an XC were the ambi thumb safeties are included and finish is DLC.
The Sandhawk as I’ve discovered does not like Atlas mags because of the slide release’s interface with the mags. I also discovered that if you put an atlas slide release into a Sandhawk, it will function with Atlas mags without further issues. I will admit that while it is a slightly pricey fix, $100 means nothing when you consider that it’s a several thousand dollar gun.
it looks like you slam the mag home yet everyone says you can't do that with 2011's. Im new to the platform so any tips on how to avoid the mag striking the ejector?-Could be a good video one day.
Its perhaps not as well known or as high end(as far as the brand itself) as the guns you usually test but I'd love to see you review a Canik TP9SFX Rival or really any of their nicer pistols. i have the Rival and for $630 the pistol performs outstandingly well. Its extremely accurate, ergos are fantastic, mags are reliable, pistol itself has not had a malfunction in the 3k rounds I've put through it so far(and yes I realize that isn't that much but I don't shoot for a living unfortunately). The trigger is the best I've tried on any Striker fired gun and yes I've tried the Walther PDP and while its similar I prefer the Canik. They also make a steel frame version which is supposed to be even better. It was also used to win the carry optics national championship or something like that--I forget the name of the exact competition but it won a prestigious competition(which is what the gun is geared for, but you could use it as a duty pistol or home defense with no problem). I'm not gonna drop mine or do anything like that but I'd love to hear your thoughts on it.
@mutiracialbeatdownPB but let me ask you this. If you could get a XC with a very low round count from a friend for $3700 what would you do? This may be the deciding factor this time around but there's always next time.
The way the dust cover, comp, and light all line up perfectly is aesthetic as FUCK
This is one of the best looking 2011 once modded out to me.
Thanks for still giving us some content Aaron. Beautiful pistol

love mines
Thanks for putting this onto youtube

I think of Aaron everytime I take a s h💩 t.
Great to see you on the Tube again, great gun and optics reviews...must see TV 👍👍👍👍👍✅✅✅✅✅
ODG is the Lord's color!!! Thanks for the video!! Also nice seeing the night hawk in the odg gang
Maybe it was from growing up seeing so many professionals in OD green uniforms in the news and in movies but I always associate the color with someone who knows what they're doing.

I ordered a trs comp about 6 months ago and I can’t wait to compare it to my other comp 2011s.
The pistol is sick, but I wanna know who Aaron threw hands with. Hahaha
He didn't throw hands with anyone, he just ugly.
Another banger from the Sage himself
Very nice and understated aesthetics
Thank you for putting this up on UA-cam. See you in class. 🖖
Thanks for the treat
Thanks for sharing this vid. Just curious which gun would you consider the best you own? I know you say it’s subjective, but if you had to choose one, which one would it be? Thanks!
color looks like Sig Legion. looks great!
“I’m keeping it because it’s OD green”
Me too buddy

Dream gun right here.
This review was great. Your review L’s are amazing. I hope you get the Dan Wesson DWX and the Oracle Arms 2311 on your channel
I just bought a Dan Wesson dwx compact it’s not that great as all the you tubers make it to be

I know you were very into the Nighthawk Firehawk. Do you have a preference? Also, have you considered putting a Trijicon SRO on it for duty use?
🇺🇸
Yeah this is on the dream list.

I have 3 of these if that tells you how much I love them.
Guntubers: Check out this new, ~500 dollar polymer, striker fired pistol from Springfield
Sage: Stop being poor
He got 2 of them🫣

Nice review!
Surprised it recoils at all. Oh wait, it doesn't. What a beautiful machine.
Nice. ODG is life.
If I was to get one double stack 1911 style pistol would you recommend a Nighthawk or Chambers Custom?
Nice fixed comp on that pistol.
How is your Chamber Customs holding up? Accuracy and function
Ok now, if you had to choose 1 would you take the SandHawk or the Atlas Ares that’s ported? I cannot decide for the life of me. Please help.
"I've got about 15000 rounds through it, which isn't a whole lot" fucking legend
I tricked out my M&P 2.0 10mm with a 4.625 inch quad ported barrel by Mag-Na-Port. And love the way it works.
Great review. I have one in production, I have about 19 months to go…. Can you please provide the Safariland ALS holster model number I see around 12:30 minutes?
Sick firearm. Picking up my 5” Prodigy today. Not the same, but can’t wait to pretend none the less.
Send it to dsc
How are you getting an OD P2 when they always seem out of stock for all p2’s?
Awesome.
Really like the OD GREEN. It would be my choice
How does the comp look after that amount of rounds?
Yes.
Hey, quick question: it looks like the comp rides straight back in the slight but don’t 2011s use a tilting barrel locking mechanism?
The comp acts like an island aka Atlas Artemis, to where the comp sits/rides on slide and doesn't have that tilt in the barrel like every other 2011 or polymer striker gun.
OD green giving me the Halo vibes. 👊🏻
Mr. Cowan, can you do a review on the PWS MK107 MOD2-M
How can we be advised of your internal inventory audit procedure so we can place bids!
i love my sandhawk 😭🔥🔥
I also had a problem with Atlas magazines. when I spoke with someone at Atlas, they said that Nighthawk, has a lower feeder ramp to make it more reliable but their magazines don’t work with it
Who’d you one hand manipulate?
As much as I enjoy shooting my Atlas Titan RDS, it did not do well with a 100 rnd burn down. It got VERY hot and the slide got sluggish causing malfs. A stronger spring might help that, but I got to shoot an almost new TRS COMP and it ate up 300 rounds straight. I will likely be selling my Atlas and getting one of these.
Cool toaster on the top
I’m keeping it, it’s because it’s OD green.
Yes sir! Awesome statement…
Dear Aaron,
can we hope to see a review of the new Trijicon RCR and the updated RMR-HD here on your youtube channel once the NDA lifts?
Would love to see it, since you have inadvertently become the de facto industry standard of optics testing.
How TF did you get an ODG acro P2?
Recoil? What recoil?
I hope you can get your hands on a Stealth Arms Platypus in the near future
That shot group is 🤌🏽.
The 1911 just wont die, and i love it. Mr. Browning would be so proud.
What holster was able to fit it?
What safariland holster is this??
Looks like you got all the vault boy bobblehead perks.
How or who did the OD green ACRO ?????
I think we’re related because I love OD green as much as you do lol.
Man those mags go in EASY
Hey it’s that one guy that used to be on UA-cam Lol 😂
I want this. Did you get the sight from Omaha?
Beautiful 😍
Yo Aaron, do you have an Erebus video on patreon.
Thanks

On the other hand, if you're dropping several thousand dollars on a custom gun it shouldn't need further tweaking.
Personally I would them do 3 serrations on the slide. 3 serrations a done by hand. 2 serrations are cnc. Bob Reeves is the man!
What happened to your knuckles. Is that from punching people?
Hitting the heavy-bag, again? I gotta get mine up...
Come onnnnnnnn. Drop it!
😂 concrete or it didn’t happen
Consistent reloads and shooting.
That's the first gun with which the ACRO micro red dot doesn't look like a giant mailbox on top of the gun.
it looks like you slam the mag home yet everyone says you can't do that with 2011's. Im new to the platform so any tips on how to avoid the mag striking the ejector?-Could be a good video one day.
You absolutely can do that.
Od green is so underrated
Charyn pistol review please
The 28 round atlas mags have competition followers. They aren’t going to lock back by design.
Mine don’t.
Not the Springfield eschelon or stealth arm platypus we wanted but a another 2011 we cant afford
You should join my Patreon then 🤷🏼♂️
Hello, is this Nighthawk? Can I get the SageDynamic special please?
Its perhaps not as well known or as high end(as far as the brand itself) as the guns you usually test but I'd love to see you review a Canik TP9SFX Rival or really any of their nicer pistols. i have the Rival and for $630 the pistol performs outstandingly well. Have you tried the pdp pro SD trigger??
Swamphawk, Landhawk, Mosshawk
So fucking sick
Ahh yes another gun i cant afford lol this is the closest I'll get to handling one of these so thank you sir
Its between this and the Staccato XC before the end of the year
This all the way, the XC is not on the same level. I have both....but I have 7 NHCs and only three Staccatos
@mutiracialbeatdownPB but let me ask you this. If you could get a XC with a very low round count from a friend for $3700 what would you do? This may be the deciding factor this time around but there's always next time.
That’s a great deal! Throw a Cheely grip on it and your hood to go.
@@dontmesswitme1 I would get the XC for that price, there is just too much of a $$$$ gap there.
Swamphawk 1 of 1
Get some.
Want.
Any idea how this compares to the new Alien Competitor 500 in speed, accuracy and flat shooting? Yes, I know the Alien runs much hotter.
My wallet is crying
If only you had a chambers custom with a comp
ODG 4 life 😄
JungleHawk
Atlas mags will not work at all with my sandhawk. I learned to live with it
Me poor.... Me go cry now....
Patreon is a paid subscription UA-cam, basically? I'll definitely check that out. I'd pay for lessons from him, too.
This is one of very few people out there that I'd let smoke me as an example in front of a class. Smoke the brakes off of me.
I was just going to reiterate that.
