I surfed this swell about two weeks ago, best we've had in about 5 years. There were some great 10-11 foot sets early in the morning. There's also going to be another swell this weekend, 5-6 foot waves. Best Summer of surfing I've had in a long time.
@FrothySurfer In foot terms 6-8 feet on average, which translates to a foot or two overhead on sets. Predictions had called for 10-12 foot swells but if fell well short of that, some areas on the east coast did get waves that size. What was nice was conditions were PERFECT, nice little offshore wind and fairly glassy conditions.
very nice waves! this area does not get blessed like this too often... so these guys are all stoked!! and that is all that matters. heads that are out to out do someone are really missing the fun in life... i feel sorry for you.
@@joshbbr24 north Carolina consistently has really good surf south Carolina pretty good NJ/NY/mass/rhode island... north and central florida and Puerto Rico are about the same...south Florida is dead flat amost year round.. Virginia/Maryland/Delaware have smaller surf but can be decent in the winter georgia has nothing year round to surf...its more for swimming
@Scripp I was there and I can tell you Hell No we dont ever get surf like that! and i dont think the form was good enough to get a decent tube unless u caught the mac daddy wave.
You are! No seriously though, slap some decent music on one of your Go Pro videos and wait for the fun, freakin licensed music is the biggest pain in the but on youtube. Much better to just use the license free garbage available in your editing programs. The wavage speaks for itself. Check a couple of my other vids!
Thats what good about surfing,u can get thrown 15 ft going 20 mph and never get a scratch, unless u surf over rocks.ha ha.u cant say that about alot of sports

1st wave is hilarious. Kooks dropping in on each other and the last one face plants.
Nice waves, plus an unbelievable amount of snakes and drop-in artists. Must suck to live there.
What's with the 23-skidoo music? Was that being pumped in from the bar?
I'm a boss and I rocked the biggest waves on a 9'2 longboard. Duuuuvvvvvvaaaaaaalllllllllllll!!!!!!!!!!! 904!!!!!
@jc111 LOL. Same here in the Gulf. Every time there's a storm hundreds of twice-ridden boards get pulled out of the garage and clog the lineup.
More storm's off the coast of Florida are making the wave's pretty awesome actually.I just hope the storm's don't hit here.
Go dina!

Is it a competition to see how many people can drop in on one wave? kooks...
Not kooks just wave hungry Floridians that never get good waves

You wear whatever makes you comfortable baby, we're not judging you.
surf hasn't been this good since lol bill was the greatest.
Man give the good surfers their wave. Buncha kooks in the water that day.
Yeah I saw 2 guys that could actually surf. Everyone else Not too much.
i miss jacksonville :(
Truth brother.
whats the average size wave here?
Average waves in Jax are knee high to waist high if we're lucky. Only storms bring this kind of surf, might only see waves this good once a year.
Is Puerto Rico way better? Asking as a surfer from California
