After sustaining a spinal injury that led to a herniated disc I began seeing chiropractors for over 20 yrs. It did help me manage chronic pain but I became dependent on chiropractic care (not all chiropractors are created equal, I eventually found one who only made adjustments with his hands, not machines or electrodes etc...). Once I found the Isha foundation and began Kriya Yoga I was able to stop chiropractic adjustments completely and finally broke the dependency to chiropractors. I have never felt more healthy and no longer have the chronic pain. Thank you Sadhguru!
Hey everybody, check out "Isha Hatha Yoga Teacher Finder". As an example he spoke of Angamardhana. The practices will help you to slowly correct your spine in a great way. Pranam, Özge
The man is right, he is not a fool. As with any joint, the more you "pop" or manipulate it, the easier it is to be manipulated and thrown out of alignment; I confirmed this with my chiropractor (former). He is a yogi, it is implied that the alternative he is advocating is stretching and strengthening your muscles. Balanced muscles lead to a balanced skeletal system. If you try to force something it may help in the short term, but you will be dependent on that outside force that is correcting a symptom of a problem that is being ignored. Regardless of what your physical condition is there is always something you can do to challenge and improve your state safely.
Sam B I have never had a chiropractor that did not recommend weekly adjustments (forcefully aligning the spine which is what they do). The solution is to maintain a balanced body that naturally corrects posture and alignment.
Wrong wrong wrong. Specific chiropractic adjustments done correctly does not hurt the joint at all. It heals the joint in strengthens the tissue around it.
Are any of you hearing what is being said. yoga is about taking care of the spine making it flexible and supported with the muscles along and around the spine, leaving the vertebrae free to move without any compression, you are also able to adjust from being aware of your own posture and energy system. being responsible for your body mind and environment.
Chiropractic basically restores mobility to spinal segments and reduces abnormal tension on the nervous system. Chiropractic adjustments do not have to be forceful. There are low force techniques.
TOO MUCH OF ANYTHING CAN BE BAD. I AGREE THAT ONE CAN BE MADE DEPENDENT ON CHIROPRACTIC ADJUSTMENTS IF THEY DON'T EXERCISE AND CHANGE LIFESTYLE HABITS THAT MAY HAVE CAUSE THE PROBLEM.
After asking a very experienced chiropractor for extremely gentle adjustment he said after watching me walk that my thoracic spine needed adjustment. I never had pain there!? He knew I had a spinal injury and was very brittle and I a meditated... after three very gentle thoracic adjustments I developed chronic pain in that region, adding to my pain in sitting up straight in meditation. I am sorry. I agree with Sadhguru. This is approaching it from the outside...never again.
Although he does state he does not know what a chiropractor does, as most whom have posted have no idea either... He sees the way things work from a totally different paradigm. There is another video in which Sadhguru states no one should touch a spine (unless they are trained). Simple and vague advice that neither helps or hurts really. Chiropractors are as varied as any other practitioner, some are yogis, some Buddhists, some Christian, some agnostic... They all use their skills and training differently. Some use only their hands and only work on mechanics, some on more ethereal issues some use tools, some are only interested in posture, gait analysis, sports injuries. Yoga is no more of a panacea than chiropractic OR medicine. You have to find a balance and use some brains and not follow others, figure it out yourself and find a good teacher/provider to help you... Do you still contact your third grade cursive teacher when you write??? no... derrrr.
The short answer is to decompress and enlongate it as much as possible. Buy a chin-up bar to hang over a door and use it often..especially during periods of sitting.. sitting is the worst for shortening muscles and compressing spinal discs. Do this and emotional armouring will decrease and kundalini flow will be optimal.
He frequently inquires "do you know what I am saying?" ..this immediately implied that he him self does not know what the other person has said. Is this a godlike question?

My nephew who had suffered for two years with slip disc problem was advised that only operation was the solution. Initially, we got coin treatment at Nelamangala of Karnataka and he got relief for one year. Afterwards with chiropractic treatment, he has become 100% perfect. There are some movements that without caution can be dangerous to your spine. That what happend to me as someone who did yoga and was very flexible
