Product Review: Genie GS-1930 Scissor Lift

Genie Industries, Redmond, Wash., displayed its GS-1930 scissor lift at the 2009 Lift and Access Showcase. At 19 feet high and 30 inches wide, the scissor lift is what the company calls a mini machine that is designed to go into a construction elevator and fit into tight spaces.
The machine features a 500-pound, two-person capacity platform with a two-position slide deck. The extension deck can slide out completely or mid-way just by pressing a foot lever and pushing out the rails. The platform surface features thick strips of non-slip coating. The top guardrail over the entry can be raised and locked into place to accommodate loading materials onto the platform. The Showcase machine featured the optional swing-in gate on the platform, but a chain gate comes standard.
