I went to universal today, they will not insure my car because I need the dtop registration first. So I went to Dtop in canovanas. They gave me an appointment for this coming monday july 11th

This video induced flashbacks of when I got my PR drivers license the first time on my own, then later registering my car (purchased new in PR) each year. You’re definitely a trooper! There was no online anything in those days. 🤦🏾♂️

Thanks I keep hearing that everything in PR is a nightmare but according to your experience and other non PR natives it’s seems to go smoothly if prepared. My experience with setting up water, electric and cable was extremely easy. Yes patients, organization and planning helped but it’s the same as in the states. In 30 years I’ve never had a problem with DMV in NJ yet everyone says it’s a nightmare. Thanks for the update but now I will not know if you are in the plaza since you now have PR plates.

Great information. I don't drive but in NY they have the marvete. They called it a Safety/Emissions Inspection Certificate. And you have to do it every year too.

Brother great video. I was wondering if you’d be willing to share what you paid for the taxes on the jeep? I have a 2021 jeep Sahara I’m shipping to the island and that’s the one thing I’m super curious about. I was even thinking about selling my jeep and buying a jeep 4XE because it’s a hybrid and I know they waive the taxes on electric and hybrids but if the taxes aren’t too bad I’ll just keep my jeep because I have like $25k in upgrades that I don’t want to do over. Thank you 🙏
We paid $6000ish for the taxes in PR for our jeep. Blessings

If we are just arriving in PR and staying in say, an AirBnB, until we find an apt, how do we provide a utility bill? Is there anything else we could bring instead?
I'm not aware of anything. We had to get a utility bill. But maybe a 3rd party that does this can assist

Dude you for real just like a third world country what an embarrassment in New York you can have all that done in one day you can get insurance you can inspect your vehicle and we could go to motor vehicle all in one day I think the video was mostly to embarrass the Puerto Rican system I'm embarrassed like the Gringos say you can take them out of the Wilderness but you can't take the Wilderness out of them
Not sure where the confusion is, but to clarify I got plates, inspection and marbete all the same day despite the covid restrictions.
