I don't think helos are actually weak, they're just consistently used wrong, I think years of Wargame helo cheese taught the playerbase to only do cheesy things with them that don't work anymore, they need to be used about 200% more cautiously than they are. None of your helos should be intentionally sent into range of enemy AA except in desperate circumstances. Flying helos straight into enemy AA is like driving unarmored vehicles into AT, or walking infantry through the open at machine guns, it's just throwing units away pointlessly and it doesn't mean the units are weak.
Transport helos should not try to land troops directly in contested zones or on enemy positions, they can land some distance away behind cover and the troops can walk the rest of the way, both helos and troops are most vulnerable while landing and unloading. Gunships should not casually fly up to the enemy front line and start blasting, they should cover transport helos while they're landing troops, and quickly react to any enemy units that have gotten past your front line. And you always need at least one spot with heavy AA cover of your own to protect your helos from getting dived on by planes and taken out for free - while you are massing or resupplying helos they should be behind a dense wall of AA, when you move out from that cover to do anything with them, they should be covered by your ASFs.
Yeah they're really good on the defensive and escorting/covering them with your planes makes sense. It's just difficult lol
I feel like both sides have their disadvantages. Red side can easily push into Foxtrot with some smoke. Also, there is the big forest on the main supply line of blue which can fairly easy be infiltrated by red.

I hate to play against 101st. You have so many different openers with 101st and your opponent has to expect a heavy helicopter opener, but you actually don't have to go for it.
I prefer it to playing against 82nd lol
