Restored LS Powered 1964 Chevrolet C10 Feature Video V8TV V8 Speed & Resto Shop
The V8 Speed & Resto Shop Crew recently finished a complete restoration on this 1964 Chevrolet C-10 pickup truck including an LS swap, suspension, rust repair and sheet metal fabrication, and more. They installed a GM L92 6.2 liter V8 powered by a Mast Motorsports ECM and using Holley accessory drive brackets, oil pan, and Hooker exhaust manifolds. A Mast cam and valve springs were installed, yielding approximately 525 horsepower. A TCI 4L60E transmission is used to provide an overdrive gear, and the truck rolls on Mob Steel 20" wheels. The finish is satin black with a charcoal silver roof, wheels, and side trim insert, and the bed is all new wood. The interior featured a leather seat, Vintage Air A/C, a Dakota Digital box to allow the original speedometer to work with the modern transmission, upgraded audio, and more.

Really good to understand the capabilities deployed to get the final great result - that key blend of ancient + modern..

When I repainted my car I was torn between matt black, Sunrise Yellow (bumblebees yellow) and the original brilliant black. I choose the original black in the end because it was a DD at the time. No regrets but that matt black does look really mean.

Love that C-10 body style. Is that paint damage at 3:31?

The spot on the bedside was a piece of dust from a plant. This truck has gotten a few chips on it, however, as the owner likes to drive it!

I like the whole truck except for one detail: Does the center mount AC vent cluster really not fit any better than that? It looks like a piece of plastic was just screwed on to the dash.

The piece is actually cast, but Chevrolet didn't really put time into making them integrate very well. i439.photobucket.com/albums/qq112/Chadman577/acsystem.jpg

Nice truck but that matte paint only ends in regret for these owners.

He's had it for over a year and still really digs it... it looks the same as the day it was painted. The trick is to use a paint that is UV stable that does not turn chalky or fade in the sun.
