You’re talking in the Late Fall, Winter or Spring. Some of us aren’t designed for warm weather! Je Suis de Bayeux Norte en Le Upper Peninsula de Michigan!
If that doesn't get your foot tapping, I don't know what would. Oh, and 11 dislikes? Really? Some folks just don't know when they're listening to high quality musicianship.
Milenberg Joys was written by Paul Mares, Leon Roppolo, and Jelly Roll Morton and first recorded in 1923 by the New Orleans Rhythm Kings. The band included Paul Mares, George Brunies, Jelly Roll Morton and Leon Roppolo. “Milenberg”was the common New Orleans pronunciation for Milneburg, a historic town and neighborhood . The modern "Milneberg" is actually South of the original historic town. Jelly Roll Morton, although given credit for the composition, claimed only to have written the introduction. According to Jelly Roll Morton, Walter Melrose (his publisher) “inserted words to some of my hit tunes without my knowledge or permission” (including Milenberg Joys).
This band works well together, this is true jazz. Guess that they have been around 10 or more years. They are good enough to travel and pass on some good old New Orleans music ...
I know what you mean. My first Tuba Sunny video was Jailhouse Blues and it will be with me forever. (Along with C.C. Rider, I've Got a Woman, and many others.)
That's Tomas Majcherski on clarinet. He has played for a while with the band. He usually has played the saxophone. I have seen him playing with other Nola bands like Shotgun Jazz Band or Charlie Halloran Quality 6. Unfortunatly he has moved from New Orleans. He is a fine composer too. On their marvelous album "Nigels Dream" by the band he has composed 2 wonderful tunes.
That doesn't seem to be a very good corner to play in . Too many people just passing by and traffic behind them . Still the sound recording is very good to cut out what must be a lot of extraneous noise .
That corner (Royal & Toulouse) is usually one of the best French Quarter spots for bands to set up. Not that day, though. I think there was a lot of road construction going on that day. It happens.
I'm perplexed: I'm just getting used to Mr. Rapuzzi being on drums rather than his washboard, and yet in this track, there is the washboard at intervals, but with no-one playing it. I know Tuba Skinny are wonderful, but how do they manage that?
+grumpyoldsoandso His name is Robin. Tuba Skinny is not playing that annoying washboard sound, it's some yokel in the audience, off camera, who thinks they're a washboard player.
This is one of the greatest Traditional Jazz numbers and TS really nails it
They nail everything
O man that guy on percussion is just killing me,so good but your all so brilliant thx
I love Robin Rapuzzi's solo, but the whole thing is marvellously infectious.
Best version I’ve heard! They are really on it!
These guys put you in a great place absolutely brilliant many thanks from Ireland
How can you walk past without stopping to listen to such music and talented musicians, wish they were playing near me!
Seemly the "blind guy can better appreciate artistry. A lesson for all of us.
Tee shirt weather in the big easy! It don't get much better then listening to great jazz from Tuba Skinny unless you are there live.

One of their best! Especially nice work from the clarinetist, and Robin on the drums - but they're all brilliant, as usual!
Loved Millenberg Joys since I heard it for the first time--at age seven. Love how Tuba Skinny does it.
that baby will always remember this and become a life long jazz fan

a band that goes on tour, loses the magic and becomes too commercial
billy smith This band has integrity to the max!
I don' know what planet you are from - a tour will broaden their support and help to keep them going

Barnabus' solo (2:02) is a monster! NSFW!
Without Barnabus the band would sound quite different, he is really an outstanding trombonist!
Damn good washboard solo! I’m an Itchy Ribs fan!!

I thought I was hearing the drummer play a wood block and other sounds. No?
You be right - no off cam crap - Shaye don't 'low it.
You're hearing one of the construction workers operating a power tool of some sort, maybe a hammer drill.
Erika, onde estás?
Es con la bebe al lado.

I wanna merry the trumpet player
I think she's already pretty merry.
@@newclarence - LOL plus, it's a cornet.
