Such flawless skating that I've never seen before! Nathen even has style when he falls, that second one I thought had actually been part of the program he handled it so well. Almost looked like a new slide hed been working on. Best of luck to both of them in Beijing!!! (Especially Nathen, I'm USA here.🇺🇸)

Excellent footage, thank you. I came to see the spread eagle faceplant that added so much to the performance, but couldn't help but admire Nathan's fluidity, and the way that the costume accentuates the turns and spins. You can't see it as well with the standard footage from multiple cameras.

Poor Nathan was in pain with his nagging injuries and taking "tons" of anti-inflammatories, said the short and long programs were basically a blur, made it on adrenaline and muscle memory. Nathan Chen performed this same program at the 2022 Winter Olympics in which he won GOLD!!! He was more relaxed when he performed at the Winter Olympics and appeared to enjoy himself. Bravo Nathan and hope to see you at the Milan Winter Olympics in 2026. Hopefully by then you would have completed your degree at Yale. Best of luck to you in the future. Hanyu is working on the quad axle and most likely will be trying for the gold medal in 2026.
I was on the phone with my mom while watching and cracked up when he literally flopped on to the ice during the choreo sequence XD remember when he said he fell bc he made eye contact with Jackie Wong, what a moment
His program was soo good. I am a huge Jason Brown fan but there is just no doubt about Nathan's incredible program here. The only one of the top 5 who didn't fall, just a tiny mistake. No doubt who was the winner here. And soo well done to the music. The 5th place (korean, I forgot his name) was also ok in that regard but I feel like the dance/musical aspect was a bit lacking in the japanese skaters. Don't even get me started on how they did Hanyu dirty. I get it, Kagiyama is indeed very good, but just from what I saw the past few days (I am not that involved in this competitive season), it is not an accident that he lost to his team mates. That single jump in the SP was so staged, he didn't even bat an eye, and he sat alone in the kiss&cry? "Because of troubles with the trainer team".... Come on... Poor guy tbh
