Why won't you play War Thunder?
▪️ I raged at getting sniped by tanks that I could never see. Also nonsense like turning bushes off that helps you perform better. That seems like a terrible design to me. War Thunder also had drama several years ago about the CEO calling the fanbase to help strike down channels or using copyright strikes to eliminate channels entirely. That is such abuse of power and dictatorial nonsense that I refuse to play a game created by such a company.

It's one of those things that takes you time to initially learn, then screw up, but once you know what you're doing you can breeze through it in the future.

I wouldn't call torpedo dodging "gimmicky" lmao, changing your course and/or speed to avoid torpedoes is kind of the point, having the acceleration/maneuverability to do it is a trade off

Also if you press 'U' on a hull block, it lets you shape it to you're requirement. So rather than sinking barbettes into the hull you can shape them with the U menu. It's very helpful for building superstructures in my experience
15:30 - at a guess, the little corner block in the stock rudder assembly is the hull mount and pivot, its top edge should mount to the keel and the majority of the rudder itself should be aft of the plane of the props, to use prop outflow to help steer the ship.

I think you need to design backwards, your ships look small for the guns they are packing, maybe put the guns you want to use down first, a bridge and than build a deck. and last build out the haul, I know, like I said, backwards.
Dyaya, this is a self-propelled iron! I built these myself at first) Look at the popular works in the workshop, there you come across such engineering moves that you are already taking care of your head. I will give advice on the case. For a pointed nose like on Italian cruisers, add -1 (-1; -1; -2; -2; -3 ...) every two blocks, and for a round hull add -0.5 ( -0.5: -1; -1.5), and generally experiment with adding a minus to the block parameters. The default blocks can be changed using the "Scale" (U), and symmetry can be enabled using the "Building Tools", as well as copying blocks to the other side using "M", changing the accuracy of block placement using "G". You can see my work in the Steam workshop (Vita_S). Good luck in this difficult task of building beautiful ships, and may your (and my) paws become hands)

But in all seriousness I was looking very much forward to a video like this, maybe try a battleship next time? I know that you can make some truly unholy creations, and I was thinking that you could lower part of the main deck to allow the main guns to superfire over a lower deck with just AA guns on it or something. Also, if you could share the hotkeys that would be great!
Edit: 33:56 Yes, those were called chicago Pianos and they were thankfully replaced by the far more effective bofors guns.

Thanks to you, I've spent an unhealthy amount of time in this game 😅 I personally make my ships using a lot of stacked vertical sections, it makes it easier to make a gradual slope for the belt and whatnot. I tend to not use too much roundness as well, as it makes it difficult to have a smooth transition all the way up the ship.

Loved the video @Stealth17 Gaming! Nice to see that the Quad 1.1 inch Chicago (She-kah-go) Piano is in this Game as well. Quick reminder with the terminology, Propellers are on Aircraft, Screws are on ships.
If Anyone has made an Atlanta-class or Atlanta/Oakland-class Light Anti-Aircraft Cruiser, or the Italian Light Cruisers of the Condottieri-class (Guissano, Cadorna, Montecuccoli, Duca d'Aosta, and Luigi di Savoia Duca Degli Abruzzi Groups), British Town-class (Southampton, Gloucester, and Edinburgh Groups) or Dido-class (Dido and Bellona Groups) or Crown Colony-class (Fiji and Ceylon Groups), and the Japanese Sendai-class or Agano-class Light Cruisers please "Form up!" I for one would love to see these ships in NavalArt!

Ships have there prop shafts pointed down slightly to help clear the hull
Regarding the rudder, I believe the game auto-resets the rudder to 0-rotation, so it doesn't matter that much how you put in rudders.
in the rudder the small thing is the connection on the ship and the rest is just to turn if you see on other historical ships you can see the small thing on the rudder connected to the ship

Needs more guns to be an ack-ack cruiser, especially an American one. I still see deck space not given over to gun. Mount the main guns on raised segments so you can put 1.1in batteries all around them, add another set of Bofors guns in the middle, and put at LEAST 100 .50 calibers covering every available space.

Alt history scenario idea for UA:D
You are playing as the Chinese Empire, and the war on the land has come to a stalemate along the Yangtze River, after you have retaken the port of Shanghai, and captured 2 Japanese battlecruisers. You have since refitted both battlecruisers for your own needs, and have been assigned a vitally important convoy disruption mission. We have learned from American spies in Japan that the Japanese are planning to land in Ningbo. If they were to succeed, this would be a massive blow to the war effort. Your mission is to destroy the Japanese invasion fleet at all costs. There is a small fleet escorting the landing troops, we believe that a larger fleet will be ready 4 hours away from the chosen point of engagement. If that fleet were to arrive, your fleet will be doomed.
Battle requirements
Starting range: 30,000 meters
Tech: China: 1936 | Japan: 1940
Chinese fleet: 2 BC, 3 CL, 4 DD
Japanese Fleet: 1 BB, 2 CA, 2 CL, 3 DD, 15 TR
Win condition
Destroy 10 or more transports within 4 hours
Design requirements
Unlock hulls and pick the 4th BC. That is the Japanese Modern Battlecruiser as of the time of this post (ik theres new hulls releasing soon)
You must keep the displacement below 40,000 tons

Im super bad at building hulls so i use pre made ones and make my own superstructure around it
Simular to simpleplanes and to sprocket but with ships
Something i need to try myself to make proper armored belts for ships in this game is to add very thin plating with the armor value i want on both sides of the ship, that way i don't have to sacrifice the buoyancy of the ship so hard the moment i want to have a ship with more than 75mm of armor in general.
Currently i just make very small adjustable blocks with 3 height and lenght and give it a shitton of bulkheads, it is time consuming as hell but so far it has allowed me to build ships that exceed 400m in leght and still have a 0.50 buoyancy

I find that the dual per pose don’t do much
i made the Akazuki with those dual purpose 100mm guns of hers, was doing well till those bombers showed up
I’ve always ran into the same issues making ship hulls in the game. It never seems like it makes sense. Then I looked at pictures of warships in dry docks you can see the hulls are never a box like we think. They a curved. Look at the sterns straight on and they look like a U. That way the rudder post can come out the bottom without looking like they stick out the back or out the bottom.
And there lies the problem. We need to make a curved shape out of square blocks.
Tbh sometimes it’s hard even for me (I’m not colorblind) to see the armor on certain parts, due to how the transparency works

You can adjust the depth of the elevator in the turrets at the top of the item menu. Very handy to keep super-firing magazines at the same elevation.
BTW. Where do we submit our designs? Got a good one that’s just about done.
So we now not only have a game to create our own tanks and one to create our own fighter planes
But also one to make our own ships

Oh, how about a Design like Ise and Tone, but "modern"? I will buy NavalArt this weekend and try to build this, a mix between BB or CA with a CV, I really like this concept, would be fun to see how other players would build their interpretation of the idea. This game and Sprocket look very fun, I will get both and try some weird ideas.

now we gotta find out where is the speed limit for these ships
If your ship has too much power to displacement, when the boat sinks underwater the game will display a really large number for your speed and subsequently crash

i don't care if you find this comment or not, but a tip is to go into module view and you can make turrets fit in shallower hulls.

this definitely won't come on mobile. since wave attacks and the ship itself will cause lag. so really even a laptop wouldn't work as well, depending on what it is

Now the game has a price in Steam, is it worthed? I see this NavalArt similar to the old game called Battleship Craft (first launched in mobile game) and Naval Craft (second launched in mobile game). I really missed them.
For me stealth you can upgrade going into heavy cruiser with heavy armour like in battleship

@@bdub1682 the 1.1 was a poor AA weapon compared to the other options USA had, and was promptly replaced for being too slow of a fire rate to be an effective light AA weapon, they were closer to the role of the bofors which often replaced them. The 20mm oerlikon filled the role of light AA on american ships once it was realized .50 was not enough, they were almost all replaced with Oerlikon 20mm
Having a ludicrous number of oerlikon guns was probably the most distinctive aspect to american warships in WWII, even the oilers of the USN carried outrageous amounts of oerlikon and bofors guns

Red-green and contrasts. Blue-pink-purple is hard to distinguish. Same for orange/red/yellow if they're close.

And try to make the back of the ship rounder underwater to fit the prop easier
You can check the tonnage through displaying a certain thing similar to settings or you can go to your Home Screen and press down on the right button and drag the camera around the ship which will then pop up the different statistics about your ship
the atlanta class cruiser, which i assume he had in mind making this was a very small light AA cruiser and was 16m wide, so this ship is waaaay too small, more like a DD but with massive guns for its size crammed on
a battlecruiser would be closer to 23-29m width, even a light cruiser would be somewhere between 13-19

wait! what form of color blindness do you have? maybe you can forward a color blindness filter suggestion to the dev? this game gives me simple planes vibes so maybe try building an aircraft carrier-ish type of ship? and when building with off-centered bridges the ballast tanks will help if you place them properly (sometimes under the bridge side in the hull) dont forget that carriers also have like..... AA guns all over the place so go ham with em!
When i try painting the ship it paints the entire hull piece a single color, how do you manage that distributed paint scheme.
I use segments: 3 layers of lower hull for the red, then a layer for the black and then several layers grey (or rather, that's what they were supposed to be).

I hope you made it American because only Americans did not care about ship design. Just take a look at ships like North Carolina, Vermont, South Carolina, for dreadnought she does not look like one. Their design is not as much better than yours
