Bought this SUV a couple of months ago and very pleased with t. Starting in 2106 there are new engine mounts to control vibrations which can occur when the VCM turns off and on. Lots of power , not direct injection so may not have carbon built up over time. 4 wheel drive is 50% front 50% back which is great in the snow. It runs on regular gas without a problem, which most newer high compression motors wont. LED lighting front and back and great sound system , cold AC . I also like the size , not too big, not too small with good carrying capability.
Bought one of these for my wife. Great vehicle. We narrowed it down between this and the Lexus Nx. It came down to the Acura having more room-passenger and cargo, bigger more powerful engine, and much better price once topped out with options.
I recently drove this vehicle and was very impressed by its ride, drive and comfort of seats. If I was shopping in the segment, this would be my top pic.
Great review, I've always enjoyed the RDX as a service loaner and for the reasons you articulated so well. There's a smoothness and refinement from a nice, naturally aspirated, Honda V-6 that other manufacturer's turbos don't come close to.
+kjscoleman Man, whenever I'm feeling down I look to a kjscoleman comment on one of my vids to pick me up ;-) Thanks for the love, man...very much appreciated!
+TestDriveNow.com featuring Auto Critic Steve Hammes You're welcome! I'm late to your party, so I have a lot of catching up to do. From what I've seen, your reviews are among the very best! Very well paced and produced with great quality video, professional yet not too serious, and insight that shows there's no substitute for experience and perspective. Looking forward to more.
Using the AWD from the CR-V breaks the package.... SH-AWD was BEAST in the old RDX... Now it feels crippled. If Acura ever replaces SH-AWD with this styling? My MDX will have a new sibling.
Couldn't even get matching fog lamps... I saw a new MDX the other day with what appeared to be non standard LED tail lights. Whoever is running Acura doesn't have a clue. How could a Honda fit have LED tails but not a $50,000+ SUV? Little details like that add up to a lasting impression on a vehicles quality and standing. In this day and age, having any non LED lighting on a luxury vehicle is a huge mistake.
I understand that behind the inner two elements in the headlight cluster for the hi beam is a regular halogen bulb. And I agree with you about the fog lights. Looks mismatched with the LED headlights. But you can get LED fog lights on the TLX.
mx5hong No. The headlights are full LED. There is no halogen bulbs in the headlights, it's just that the inner two high beam elements are LED Reflectors and the outer three low beams are LED Projectors. Only the RDX and the ILX are set up like this, the MDX, TLX, and RLX are full LED Projectors.
I keep hearing about mismatched fog lights, but I don't see what you're referring too ? .. overall, this looks like the best bang for the buck, for what's out there .... great power with decent fuel economy for such power.. I saw it at auto show two years in a row and I have booked a test drive this Wed.
Acura will win the small luxury crossover mainly on its price point at $44k as seen; and maybe around $47k if you check all the option boxes. Undercuts the others by $1500+.

it makes no sense that they offered a 4 cyl turbo when everybody else had V6's, and now when everybody is downsizing, they upsized to a V6. is it just me, or was this car way more interesting back in 2007? maybe you're better off going used?
I like that the LED signature lights remain on even with the turn signals engaged.
The matching white fog light bulbs can be purchased on Amazon for around $20. You're welcome! :)

nice to see a traditional v6 6 speed ^^
definitely looks better, solid pick in this segment

I regards to the fog lights; I think Acura decided to go cheap on them because very few people actually use their fog lights.

+WretchedDrake That´s one of the many reasons the 2G MDX is still the best...
Steve, another fantastic review. I feel like trading in my 2009 MDX after watching this review! Great car, even better review. Take care now!
This car would look nice in gold
After your acura ilx video miss matched fog lights drive me crazy. Great video

Great review. Not too much nonsense just straight to the point. 👍
great review. Is the exterior black or dark gray?

This engine is strong. Wish the car was more sporty than comfortable.
Nice review I'm going to get one now c ya
Can I put regular gas in this?
Nope. Acura's V6s need the good stuff.
I say you can because it says recommended not required. I’m putting regular in my mdx now and it’s fine.
thank you
does it require premium gas?
yes
@@lindsaygoodwin9066 no it doesn't bro, it's just recommended🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
No it doesn't, he's wrong
I would like wheels to be bigger n better looking rims
Nice but I will keep my MURANO SL
anyone else notice how he said this was acura's best vehicle WELL IT IS NOT.The MDX is.AND TLX
The TLX is their worst vehicle. See my review. MDX was OK before the 9-speed. The RDX is the best they offer.

TLX is having a transmission recall...
I've got a 2017 RDX and I absolutely love it! Great review!

is it just me, or was this car way more interesting back in 2007? maybe you're better off going used?
It's just you.
It is just you. A 6 cylinder is so much smoother and quieter than any 4 cylinder turbo sewing machine.
i don't know. to me all acuras are pseudo-luxury cars and are boring. that one was quirky and interesting.
the tlx is not thier worst vehicle my friend"s dad has a tlx and my dad is looking at a RDX OR A TLX OR BMW OR MERCEDES OR A LEXUS OR AUDI.
CRV rims? really?
wow nice Lamborghini SUV
Those rims were hideous
