Dan cambell has that rugby league mentality. It’s about aggression. All out aggression. Safety first loses constantly. Betting the house on 22 comes up winning 6/10
All out aggression, but he knows how injuries can derail your career and life so him and Brad have built the team with insane depth so that everyone can heal when they need to. They also apparently hired a genius doctor as the head trainer so get them back to full health quicker than anyone else could. It’s a genius system
I think he’s going to eventually influence other coaches into taking risks more often. Analytics show that going for it on 4th/going for 2 is usually the better option. In the long run, it leads to more points. But in the short run, it can get you fired so coaches are afraid to try it.

Calculated aggression would be the best way to describe it. They're not just aggressive, they're cold and cunning about how they execute that aggression.
Yeah, the thing is it's DEFINITELY still about winning. The Lions go for it a little bit more often than analytics at large would recommend in a league where coaches are too scared to go for it as often as they should, and so it looks insane, but it's just good football. Extremely fun to watch too, I love this team.

Since I'm a native of the region and my father was a forever Lions fan until he passed before I graduated primary school, I can you that the 3 key difference makers of the Detroit Lions is: 1. Coach Dan Campbell (he came back to a team he loved and felt he needed to prove to everyone exactly what he knew that no one else did. He has more heart than anyone in that franchise. He is beyond extraordinary b/c he built this team from the ground up... literally); 2. the new Rockies came in and made the team gel together so well (namely Gibbs, Hutchinson and Moseley) and Jared Goff (he looked inside himself and pulled out a man that was needed to lead this team and as a result, he got his own confidence restored, he has found where he fits and he magnificent). Let's go LIONS🦁💙 LETS GOOOO🔥🔥🔥

For the first time in my life we have a good team. Before it's been a few hall of fame players trying to prop up a poorly coached roster. Dan has changed things, win or lose today, I'm damn proud to be a Lions fan.

Brad Holmes deserves as much credit as Campbell. He's built this team by nailing three drafts in a row.
Dan has an unwavering passion and belief in his players and that’s why I love him as our coach so much. He’s honest, when says he’s gonna do something he does it. Call it ballsy, or reckless or just shear confidence in his guys. He’s completely revitalized an organization and fanbase and if he gets the thing done in the near future he will probably ascend to god status in the city of Detroit. When I heard his first press conference I could feel the passion. I wished I could have been a player cause I felt like I would run at anything with reckless abandon for that man. I felt his tenure would either be a fun disaster or the best coach in team history with no in between. It seems my later prediction is closer to reality and I’m so happy it is. I only pray that this 49ers game is close in crunch time because his mentality will completely break Shanahan. Dan has a knack for the psychology of a person, be it his own players or an opposing decision maker. It’s beautiful to watch.
Also, his path is only slightly weird but it feels like everyone forgets about his interim stint in Miami when he went 5-7. Raw but had potential. His extra maturation time in New Orleans as the TE/assistant head coach under Payton seemed to do wonders. And he continues to grow and improve every year here too.
Dan was the interim head coach of the dolphins his last year there after week 4 and went 5-7, so he wasn’t completely inexperienced before Detroit
As a dolphins fan I miss him , he didn’t do great but he turned the team in a new direction

looking back on that Cowboys game, them losing that game ended up being the best thing that could have happened to the Lions in terms of their matchups in the playoffs.

Not enough credit is given for the committee that Sheila Ford Hamp put together to hire a new head coach resulting in Dan Campbell. I forget who all was a part of it but I know Chris Spielman was one of them. They were looking for a guy that was anti Patricia. Not an X's and O's guy but a motivator. They knocked it out of the damn park.

Great video! Lions now have one of the deepest rosters in the league and they are coming for your lunch. Barring any major injuries they are going anywhere from 10-7 to 13-4. 50+ years of pent up anger and frustration are about to be unleashed on the league like never before. Campbell is now considered an elite coach and his staff is second to none. ONE PRODE 🦁

My dad has been a Lions fan since he was a little boy. We’ve all made the jokes over the years (Dad has too - it’s how you deal with the misery). But damn if this season hasn’t been the most fun to watch, and the most satisfying. Dan Campbell is my favorite coach in football right now and DEFINITELY one of my favorites of all time. Having Detroit in the NFC Championship is amazing, though seeing them in the Super Bowl? Beautiful.

The 2021 season may have been bad, but it had been one of my favorite seasons in my lifetime, almost every game was close and most importantly, the team showed a lot of fight. Just patricia being gone and having a fun coach that cared made a huge difference.

This aged well…. It is one thing to be aggressive which I don’t mind. It’s another to be careless with the situation you are in, and Dan Campbell demonstrated the careless side well. To go for it not once but twice. Especially in a situation to be able to tie the game in the 4th quarter with not a ton of time left is careless

@@SunShine-xc6dh their kicker has been terrible this year. That “easy fg” everyone keeps talking about was over 40 yards. If Goff could throw a football that 4th down would have been a 20 yard gain with the Wr wide open. Plus Dan is the only reason they made it there anyways
@Burt_Sampson that kicker was released. This one had zero misses which seems less than the number of incomplete pages Goff has thrown.

I think the length is relative to the storyline. This video is about a rebuild of a Team, not an analysis of a single play. But, I can understand if there is polishing that needs to take place. That’s the nature of making content. Even when we nitpick, it’s still good work. Keep it up.
