I met john at his short lived songwriters festival in Aspen and had a chance to sit down and have a coffee with him. Such a humble down to earth guy. You’d never know what a badass talented dude he is when you talk to him.
Great Philly trip down memory lane. My uncle was a part of the Philly sound in the early 70's with his band The Soul Devanlents/Force Of Nature.Tommy Bell,Bunny Sigler,Gamble and Huff,John Madera were all a part.
Gzzzz Ahmir you and your team are doing it up with these damn interviews........ I'm over here nerding out like hell!!! All I know is John Oates and Daryl Hall were a big part of my childhood musical Playlist in the 80's because they along with Queen, MJ, Elton John, every great R&B/Soul singer, group or band, jazz musicians and rock & bands of the 70's and 80's were all that my family or family friends would play at house parties, cook outs or if they were just having a little get together at the house.... Great music really truly make up the soundtracks of our lives

John Oates 👍
Da 'stach
When Daryl shows up. Don't say "blue eyed soul". He hates that term.
I don’t think Q agrees with the term. Sounded like he was just saying how the fandom basically put that hanger on them for obvious reasons.
people need to hear about soul, taking the genre shit out of it.
