The singing is hard. But serious props to the lady keeping perfect time snapping the sanitizer lid.
Not only are the vocals perfect, but those lyrics are GENIUS!!!
Beautiful, Well Done
גם אני ציוני גאה. זה גדול, נכון?:)
good one dorthy
So true!
I wanted to understand those lyrics, so I use dictionary! I have a lot of time fortunately. We don't have a word insted of [ I miss you.]exactly.(Maybe it means 寂しい、恋しい、あなたがいなくてつらい...) But I can understand that feeling.Different word, same feeling! from Japan.
Wonderful! I'm watching this in 2023, the longest time and yet not so much. Thank you for putting this out there.
A lot of bad things happened because of COVID 19
This is definitely not one of them. It’s so brilliantly written and sung. Definitely made my day.
mine too
Nothing better than a smile these days 😉
I just came across this one after seeing their Bohemian Rhapsody one. Both great.
I know. I could not quit laughing when my choir teacher showed this. I sent this to my Bible study group. I told them I would have sent my recording from choir class of this version of the song had I not laughed too hard.
who is here in 2022
can’t believe how far we have come
Because of Covid-19, we found out how creative we really are.
That's so true!
Finding humor in any tough situation is a great coping mechanism
I still get the same feeling hearing this band virtually performing, than I would with the band doing so in person! :)
It’s actually quite funny if you listen to the lyrics! And, I loved the bloke getting a haircut as he sang! 🤣👍🏻
He is only missing the barber's poncho, so the hair falls to the floor !!

😁🤦🏼♂️
Proud to be a Canadian! As our Provincial Health Officer says....."Be Calm, Be Safe, Be Kind". Take care everyone
One year later, this is so even more true.
Oh Bless you, Canadians!
The harmonies are ASTONISHING! #STAYSAFEFROMUSA
What a talented beautiful people. So proud you all found a way to continue your gifted group while putting safety first. So impressed with you all.
The line "I miss you so bad" brought tears to my eyes when I thought of missing my own chorus members. I've been singing in a chorus continuously for the past 55 years and this year is the first time I am not singing. Thank you for your wonderful video. I watch it often and sing along. Thanks for putting the words underneath.
It's close to a year later, but this gave me a lift. Thank you all so much!
"This is the best thing I've heard in the last 50 yrs! You feel so good when you hear it" says my 92 years old mom(Mary Pielemeier).
Dont know why, but here in December, listening to this after friends have been sickened and even died from Covid, Im in tears. Why cant we all pull together as a member of the human race, and follow the suggestions of these beautiful singers?
I just want you to know you've created one of those videos that my grandfather finds on Facebook, then emails to everyone hes ever met.
Thanks, you have stopped me doing the same thing!! lol
Ha!
Same
I won’t be that grandfather. Thanks. :)
I think its perfectly fine. Its just what grandfathers do. Nothing wrong with it. ;)
The comment about teachers having to do double prep is absolutely true! Not only do we have to come up with the lesson but now we have to go to PDFs and make them usable for the children and then we cannot give immediate feedback we have to go back individually and type in everything that would’ve taken us five seconds in class. It is an insane amount of work! On a brighter note you guys sound amazing and I hope you continue doing amazing work!
Suzanne Jones teachers are fortunate in that they can do their job online
Do you really think that the kids were actually watching the lessons & doing the work?
We'll see this fall if they were or not when the schools reopen.
it's probably easier for HS teachers - I teach the same class 3x each day, asynchronously, so that easily balances the preptime
@@cynthiacudaback4971 I teach high school also but I have 3 different preps for 5 classes. I tracked how much time it takes me to put together a lesson including video, google slides practice, and google form exit slip -- about 5-7 hours from conception to production to delivery for a half hour lesson. Then there's trying to track down the students who don't submit their work. Then add in the virtual office hours and the content, faculty, and leadership meetings, and I'm easily working 60 hour weeks. It's insane. And our school board wants to cut our benefits and pay next year.
Prep's are the hidden 'killer' of the work of teaching that non-teachers don't see or think about very much. I am a retired professor. We'd always sigh when we were assigned a 'new' course that we'd not taught before. That meant making a new 'prep'!! Yike!
I still cry every time I watch this again, can't help it.
Wonderful talents and coordination! I love it! Thank you all!
Just discovering this 7 months later! I love it. ❤❤❤Being home alone? Not so much. 💔💔💔 But, " I intend to stay here for the longest time!" Whatever it takes.🙏🙏🙏
Canadians are sooooo refreshing... Thank you!!
Thank You Phoenix Chamber Choir ! Your friends in the states appreciate not just awesome vocals but a terrific sense of humor. BRAVO!
Everything is cool. Not only are the vocals perfect, but those lyrics are GENIUS!!!
Amazing the power of social media to share voices way beyond their original audience. And Free. If only we could find he resources to do more of this globally. One World, United in Peace (in adjoining hospital rooms)
Once again, thank you CANADA!! Not all of US intend to be bad neighbors. Sending you love and doing my part as well. Thanks for the music and the smile.
This is FABULOUS! And that Lysol metronome. Hysterical.
my favourite
I’m sure when this was recorded, none of us knew it would indeed be for the LONGEST TIME!
Hi i just want to say I'm 11 years old and I love this song. Thanks for hopping for us.
No better ambassadors for all that endears Canada to a Yank from down south! Loved the lyrics, harmonies, great timing, the haircut, and the metronome!
Absolutely beautiful. Gives a different perspective to such an ugly thing.
Love the lady with the Lysol canister!
Three things my 8-year-old daughter adores: Covid parodies, virtual choirs, and Billy Joel! (I thoroughly enjoyed it too.)
That, was awesome. I laughed, I cried, I did both at once. Thank you!
Whoever wrote and choreographed this song must have the talent of a genius. It made me laugh especially the guy with the bears. Well done guys.
Oh, I needed that so much! Not only is that one of my favorite songs, I'm mourning the suspension of singing with my church choir (or ANY choir), so the combo, plus the wonderful performance by this excellent group has brought tears to my eyes, and joy to my heart.
Have you heard the news about how dangerous *singing **_in particular_* is in spreading the virus? Any form of in-person group singing (even rehearsals) needs to wait until Phase 3 at least, and preferably not until a vaccine _and_ a treatment (95% effective) are available.
I'm missing hearing my church choir! There are only maybe 15 but they are committed and do a great job.
Sung to perfection, eh? I love it!
Wonderful! So clever and well-sung. Thank you!
This is by far the greatest message the anyone could say thank you guys you have done more than any government in messaging
Absolutely, just what the doctor ordered!!
Thanks for the “light moment” that your great voices provided in the midst of this time of sorrow for many.
May God’s blessings fill your hearts, homes, and choral groups!
Sister Eileen
This absolutely brightened my day! Fabulous! Thank you so much Phoenix Chamber Choir for putting a smile on my face!
Utterly, utterly fantastic video! This made my day!! Thank you, Vancouverites, and congratulations on being in the SAFEST province ON EARTH right now... you've done a spectacular, unsurpassed job protecting your communities from this virus!
A beautiful song, with meaningful words
Go Canada and the Phoenix Chamber Choir...Bravo!
We've been watching this regularly when we have our Virtual Choir Sunday breakfasts (started during the lockdowns), and my 2 girls this morning said "we love Tiffany!". 🤣💕
Found this by watching the new show the greatest # home videos. You guys are great singers thanks for making this.
Lovely. Just what the doctor ordered. I'm climbing the walls with boredom.
I play this every day and sing along. Such a lovely gift to us.
I listened to and bookmarked this months ago. It's still great, and the prospect of being at home for months more (I live in NC, so it's not looking too good) makes this beautifully-produced and -sung performance all the more poignant. Continued thanks!
This is wonderful! I am 80 and have been hibernating in my apartment since March, except for weekly scurries to the grocery store and a week in hospital with pulmonary emboli. Love the song lyrics and the excellent singing. And, of course, the antics of everyone. Well done! Let joy commence!
GORGEOUS!GORGEOUS!GORGEOUS! It brought tears to my eyes. Thank you.
Why does this bring more than a year to my eye? So moving.
year or tear??
Thank you Phoenix and thank you Vancouver!
Thank you, Canada, for sharing your kindness. Your nation should be proud!
Really, this is the best performance recorded via conferencing service out there! (Sorry, celebrities!) The patience, the arrangments, the voices… this took up a lot of work, and the results are inspiring!
Made me 😁! Excellent! The lyrics were SO right and funny at the same time and true! Billy Joel would give it a👍!
Suddenly everyone is creative in quarantine. this is genius !
That was wonderful...thank you, Canada!
I am so happy I found this song. I've been in my room for the longest time, doing my part!
I've been singing in choirs for over 50 years, and y'all are the best of the best!
Sending you lots of love and hugs from Sugar Land, Texas 🎶😊♥️🤗
This is just magnificent! Everything: the rhythm, the creativity, the musicality. So Good!
Beautiful voices. Great harmonies....you can hear the chords from the harmony! Billy Joel is a great pop composer for sure. Thank you, my friend "Reb" I'll call him here, for sending me this!
Be safe!
Great version of a great song performed by great singers from a great country.
Excellently done, folks! 👏👏👏
Wonderful! Beautiful! Extraordinary! Such an amazing job pulling it together over Zoom. I loved the touch with the Lysol container, that made me laugh even while getting misty-eyed. There is just so much going on, so much to unpack. Little bits you each did in frame that will be a joy to watch and listen to time and again.
Thank you for your encouragement. Yes! we keep singing! From Japan.
ABSOLUTELY SUBLIME and purely delightful! Everyone had such great personality and individuality - and Beautiful voices that blended perfectly. Perfect diction. And creativity galore - watched it FIVE times and caught more fun stuff each time! Clorox Wipes pop top was a hoot, Long bangs woman, haircut couple, and the guy who's darling kids did a perfect job with the puppets, and so much and many more. All of you! Just AWESOME! Thank you!
The part where they say "I miss you so bad" made me think of my friends
LOVE the Lysol percussion!

The guy getting a home-haircut is the best!
I just came back to this after almost two years, and it still brings tears to my eyes. The commitment to "stay here for the longest time" to do our part for the nation and the world - so beautiful. Thank you for this outstanding contribution to the coronavirus story.
Thank You Vancouver, Canada from Chesterville, Maine. You're the best!
This just makes me cry..It is so beautiful, great to see people pulling together.
Glad to see I wasn't the only one it affected that way.
Love the Lysol wipes rhythm section!
Gave me chills - in a good way! Well done.
WOW. Terrific Harmonies to a great song - with excellent lyrics for today's situation. Really enjoyed that; well done everyone.
Delightful and charming are two words which spring to mind when listening to this collaboration, not to mention, harmonious and humourful. I thought harmonies like that were only achievable in the celestial realms.......clearly, I was mistaken. Kudos to all involved , including the lyricist and editor.
Grateful Covid isolation thanks from Down Under.
This is HYSTERICAL. The girl snapping the Lysol lid is the best !!! And the lady with the blue scrubs and lanyard is super cute.
Teddy bear, sock puppet & dancing girl behind mom - all the brilliant little touches
And the most adorable puppet show. ❤
And the guy getting his hair cut. 😂
Love the tapping of the Lysol container! Nice touch! Thank you everyone, you are super talented and brought a smile to my face.
I LOVE THIS!! You are all so very talented and have beautiful voices!!! I love Billy Joel's music and this is my favorite parody of his song ever!! ❤❤❤
Wow! This is fabulous!!!! The vocals were sublime, and the lyrics made me grin. Loved everybody's backgrounds, too. (The Lysol percussion was inspired.) Well done!!!! You've all spread joy during a time of uncertainty. Hugs, y'all. Stay safe!
Thank you Phoenix Chamber Choir and friends. This is awesome. I agree with everything everyone wrote below. Just fabulous!!!
This is wonderful! Thank you from the US to our beautiful and very talented friends in Canada!
I know none of you but I love all of you. Thank you. Brought me to tears.
I’m sure Billy Joel would appreciate and approve of this version. It’s brilliant.
He did! We got an email from him!
Phoenix Chamber Choir
Thought he would! He is a very generous human being that once allowed someone to accompany him on piano for a performance of “ A New York State of Mind”. Well done!
@@phoenixchamberchoir Fabulous - that's good to know.
Best wishes from London (England - not the other one!)
This was put together well, and they are obviously very talented. This had to take a lot of planning and practicing - I'd imagine. What a nice way to come together safely and give to others. I really enjoyed this. It actually made me a little emotional towards the end when they sing " I miss you so bad!" But good singing always tugs at my heartstrings. Excellent job guys!! Thank you!
Same here!
The "I miss you so bad!" part almost made me tear
Glad it's not just me getting emotional at the end there....
Christine McGrath
Australians never cease to amaze with their creativity and spirit. Thank you for making me smile in my home thousands of miles away.

By far the best one I've seen to DATE! Billy Joel really should see this. Your group did a terrific job on it.
