An idea for your Blanket of Knowledge- now that you have switched to the squares, you could jump right in on this months yarn and pattern, and feel more caught up with the community vibe, and “declare a backlog” for the previous months. Once you have completed this months tasks, you could then go back and work on clearing the backlog with any remaining time in the month, whilst feeling caught up and doing the same pattern as the rest of the FB group? Just an idea xx
I think you are right to change your blanket plans if it’s not giving you joy! Struggling with a project is no fun! I’m glad you are enjoying some down time with your family. Your shrug is so practical and I think you’ll get a lot of use from it! Take care x
Your idea for switching your Blanket of Knowledge to the bite sized squares option seems a good idea and you seem so much lighter for making that decision.
Me too! This would especially be great for those scrappy and advent projects. I already have a need for this pattern…. Please write it up @knittynatty! ❤
I want to start my comment by saying that I am really enjoying the crochet Blanket of Knowledge that I started in March after seeing it on here. I am making the strip version in the Cabin in the Woods colors. However... I think this is a fairly difficult way to get into these crochet techniques if you're not a strong crocheter. I have found many inconsistencies in the patterns that can throw someone off if you don't realize there's a mistake. I appreciate it is difficult to get these out month after month, and I don't know whether these have dedicated testers before they go out. The unusual stitches are definitely a lot of fun, and the yarns are amazing! I am very happy to be a subscriber, but I wanted to share my thoughts in case other folks who are less confident crocheters are considering subscribing.
I'm planning to make the Sea Glass Tee which uses scraps and (in my case) mini skeins and I would love to have the little bucket pattern to organize all the different skeins in my bag!
Throne of glass is the best one. I’ve seen a lot of lackluster reviews of CC3. I’m on the last TOG and it’s the best thing ever. The 2nd and 3rd books were wild, I loved every moment.
I can usually get 3 knit blocks out of each hank of DK yarn in my BoK. I would think you might only get 2 with crochet since it uses more yarn. I am doing 2 blankets. One Strip and one Block, I thought I would like the strip more, but I think I like the blocks more in the end.
Throne of Glass is by far my favourite SJM series. So so good and there’s so much to read it’s amazing you get to really get into the characters and the world
I finished reading Knit One, Kill Two today. Every once in a while scenes showing group unity make me cry. I was reading this over dinner in a restaurant struggling to keep the tears from falling into my food. (Some of Estelle Ryan's books do that, too.) I have experienced that kind of belonging in different combinations. It is a glorious thing well captured in the early scenes of this book. Thanks for the lovely recommendation. I hope you and Kent enjoy your vacation. Safe and wonderful travels.
Sarah J. Maas is a fantastic author but the Throne of Glass series has an extra special place in my heart. I got to meet her at a local book signing with my sister when the final book was released. Oh and I loved the Vlog!😍 I would watch more in a heartbeat. Enjoy your vacation in the sun! 😎
I got to go to Petit Fours and Purls this week and it was amazing! Katy was so friendly, and the food was delicious, sand of course the yarn was stunning. Thanks for sharing!
Good decision on your blanket of knowledge. I did my first one - when I was still learning to knit - in squares. Now that I’m more experienced I’m doing my second knit one in strips. Hope you have a wonderful relaxing vacation!! 🏖🌊🐚☀️🏝
I’ve crochet little mini buckets for myself but I’ve made a hole two thirds up to thread the yarn thru. Works for me. I don’t write patterns I just worked it out after crocheting big baskets.
I’m working on the Blanket of Knowledge using the Mineral Rights collection. Love love the this colorway!! Tracie is a great designer with challenging patterns!! Like you I went back and forth with strip vs block/ knit vs crochet. Finally realized I didn’t need another blanket so now making a coat using the Cozy McBlanket by Lyrical Knits. Loving this pattern very much!!
I find your commercials-like for skin creams-somewhat off-putting. I am sure that your younger demographic enjoys your ads from sponsors. I realize that this is part of your income generating business plan. I just feel like it takes away from your valuable knitting and crafting information.
This is her job. Sometimes she is sponsored by relevant businesses such as Craftsy. Sometimes it’s less relevant. If you don’t like the sponsor, you can skip through the advert. She’s not going to stop taking sponsors just because it’s “off putting” to you. This is the norm on UA-cam.
Natalie put time chapters below so anything that does not interest you can be skipped over. Sponsors are necessary to create income for UA-camrs. This item didn’t particularly interest me so I went on to the next segment. Simple really.

I would be really happy if the bag project became a pattern. 🩷

I’d buy a pattern too! Love scrappy projects!
The mini skein float tote would be great for Advent projects - definitely interested in the pattern!
Your leftover shrug yarn would make a nice hat!
Or ear warmer band thing if sweating while wearing a hat would drive you nuts. :)

Wonderful episode! Can’t wait to see IO2. We had to postpone and now planning on going next weekend. Hope you have a very fun, relaxing vacation. ❤

A girls gotta eat!
UA-cam is like TV. I’m sure there are plenty of commercials you find off-putting on TV. As least here, you can fast forward through.
