Have the same setup and I think it sounds awesome. I hit up active a few weeks ago about buying the section of pipe without the third resonator since I'm having it tuned soon.
Hey Ken!! Honest opinion... looking to buy a midpipe along with a catted downpipe. Which midpipe do you prefer since you have experimented with many of them? I've been debating the single midpipe vs. dual with x-pipe; thoughts?? I would really appreciate your pros and cons between the two!!
In my personal opinion, I always loved the tone of the Equal Length Midpipe. But between the Single and Dual X-pipe, the Single does have a slightly deeper tone on low end. You'll probably have slightly better flow with that. The catted downpipes is a must if you don't plan on tuning the car. Active I believe is having a sale for Black Friday too!
@ thank you so much bro!!! I appreciate your opinion! I prob will tune eventually like you mentioned as well; is there anything wrong with having a catted downpipe with the tune?
Great setup, I had what I guess was the AA 1st generation equal lenth midpipe on my 2023 G80cx. Loved the sound and miss it but didn't like the cold start rattle. Does AA have a titanium midpipe for the 2025 M4cs with the stock titanium back box?

Hey Ken. Any info on AA's trade-in program? I emailed Alan as yoiu suggested. I'm running with the Gen 1 equalizing mid-pipe and think I'd like to try the resonated version. Funny because the whole idea of removing the stock midpipe was to get rid of BMWs annoying worldwide compliant resonator and cat design.
Jeeez I forgot to throw in the clip of how it works lol. Sorry about that. Been editing non stop and it fazed me. In this other video you’ll hear more about how it works : Bought A G80 M3 On A Saturday And Modified It On A Monday ua-cam.com/video/lNzhg5A3Vu8/v-deo.html Let me know if you have anymore questions!
AA catted downpipes, IRL Single Midpipe and Axleback with no valve rattle here. The valve rattle issue is caused by there not being enough tension between the springs/locking pins and the valve actuators. It’s hard to really dial it in because you have too much tension and your valves won’t open/close all the way but have too little tension and your valves will rattle like hell. Currently debating on switching back to my stock exhaust’s muffler section to combat drone and the obnoxious cold start.
@@caprisunmonke1776 the cold start issue is caused by the valves in the muffler then? I was considering doing the Dinan midpipe to remove the resonators and the Bluetooth controller to unlock the valves in the stock muffler and leave the stock cats. At the most, I’d either do the AA high flow cats with no secondaries, but I’d rather leave the primary cats and remove the secondaries like the N55 BMWs had with the 335i. I guess there are a number of great set ups to run here
Sorry it still sounds bad when it’s cold. You’d never get away with that in the UK and parts of EU. I have a Scorpion GPF back with valve controller on my G80 CX, sounds rattly on cold start with valves closed but with the valves fully open (with Miltek valve controller) it’s fine. But the GPF stops a lot of the drone and off sound you’re experiencing on start-up. I’m not advocating putting the GPF on in the US but I think you need a much larger back box or mid res if you want to lose that obnoxiousness in the first 30 seconds of your startup. If there is no GPF then I’d stick with the OEM back box and experiment with mid-pipes and/or down pipes
It is a flawed exhaust set up when it comes to the cold start/2k rasp. everything above 2k rpm sounds amazing but having to deal with that weedwacker sound when the engine cold starts just isnt worth it. The single midpipe does NOT have this issue!! finally after going single i wasn't embarrassed to cold start my car lol
Love your car but man I just hate every single setup for the g80 But I have a gt3 with straight pipe and Huracan sto with akra titanium lol I wound up leaving my g80 m stock and just enjoying it for its performance and daily drivability cause all these setups do is add noise but not good sound and tone :/
Zero hope with these new M3's, just dont sound good at all, but she is good looking. To address the sound quality a bit...i feel with this new platform, if you put a lightweight fly wheel on the manual cars it certainly would help with the sound. RPM's should drop quicker to achieve that motorsport sound we all are looking for. Yes Fly wheel has nothing to do with the Exhuast.....no it does..in a way..... Quick throttle response, Engines ability to sound free'er,, peppier. This is what i would do if i had this car in a manual.

Wheels and that rear end looks amazing.

Awesome you’ll have some more volume for sure. I’m leaning towards the same. I kinda like the rowdy-ness sometimes lol.

Glad they released a Gen 2 bc that cold start is the worst lol. This setup is so slept on tbh, everyone one w a G8X always run a single mid.

Exhaust sound is so personal!!! I prefer a single mid-pipe, but that sound great as well!!

@@TheDailyDriven The vid had it all, Ken. Thanks. I reached out to Andy by email to talk about a swap. Can't wait for the next Invasion LA!
My question is would it be too quiet on other M cars that only have this midpipe with stock cats and mufflers due to the 3 newly added resonators?
Does the stock system have the cold start & 2k rasp issue?
Yes, once you start changing the Midpipes you’ll have that cold start rattle. The more flow and less restrictions causes the rattle.

I am debating between this and the AA Single Resonated? I am first time G80 owner and which would be better for deeper sound and not high pitched?
dont waste your time... go single
How would this midpipe be with everything else stock?

Could start is pretty loud and raspy on my g81, but the sound is so perfect.
I know what you mean. I like the rowdyness sometimes lol.
Is this the deepest sound u can get? Thats what im looking for
No there are deeper tones with their single Midpipe or Goliath exhaust.
Are your RT88's 20's or 19's?
and what sizes are they?
bros jacked! whts ur height and weight?

kinda sounds like a 3 cylinder, waiting for irl x hmu exhaust to come out

Don’t like how it’s forced to come with resonators.
Can request one without the third resonator. Which is the larger one you see in the video.
Too bad they don’t ship to my house
Still not great. But the only to achieve that is ST
I don't know what to think to be honest
Hard to tell from videos but If you ever come across with someone with it, check it out.
G80 still doesn't sound good. There's no hope :(
Yes the AA midpipe is a trash design although AA makes good quality products
How could you even think that bro wtf what do you consider a good sound and a bad sound?
