I am glad you didn’t get the ceramic brakes! They are terrible in a wet conditions!! Almost no stopping power in rain. My f80 had it and I almost crashed it in 4 diff occasions! I told my self never ever again unless I am only gonna drive it in dry conditions or track
Excellent video. I have a 2022 M4 manual, and I love it just the way it came from BMW. I passed on the carbon ceramic brakes and the carbon seats, the carbon fiber exterior trim and M Drive Professional Packages, and the Shadowline trim package, and I don't miss them. My car is Isle on Man Green with Tartufo brown full leather interior. I have the moonroof. I like that the mirrors, rear spoiler, and roof are body color rather than black or black carbon fiber. My car also has the 825M bi-color wheels. I plan the keep my car stock and will not lower it. If you plan to lower your car and/or add a front splitter be sure that you will still be able to clear speed bumps and rolled curbs. My house has the rolled curbs that are so common in many California suburbs including here in the Sacramento area. Even stock, I have to approach my driveway at an angle to avoid scraping the front end. as my driveway upslopes from the curbs, then tapers off toward my garage. It I lowered the car or added a front splitter, I would tear the hell out of it every time I entered the driveway. Enjoy your M3. I think the G8x cars are among the best cars that BMW has ever built.
I have a 23 G80 Xdrive, and have all the options except M Drive Professional and CCB. Not going to track and I sure dont need a score or analyze my drifting. 8k a steep for CCB and not fully utilize them, stock brakes are great and red calipers matches better with my color scheme. When these pads are rdy for replacement, theyll be replaced with ceramic pads, like others on here have stated.
I have always swapped my factory pads with performance carbon ceramic pads. I’m about as OCD as you are. The changeover is relatively inexpensive and has kept my wheels relatively dust free. 😊

Woah stunning shots in the beginning. The lighting is amazing. Good to see your perspective on how you would option out these cars if you had to do it again
Appreciate the thoughts through your experience. One thing to mention, choosing carbon ceramic brakes, you will lose a huge amount on resell down the road. The Number 1 option I should have purchased for my 2023 M4 (Brooklyn Gray) Comp is... Carbon Ceramic Brakes. Although, my car is for the weekends ONLY, ( Not for the track) .....after a hand wash and a quick drive for 5 miles on the LA Freeways the wheels need to be cleaned. Brake Dust all over the wheels.
Hey Ken thanks for the videos, great job. Appreciate the insights and honesty. Brake dust…yep no good. I tried to graphene the wheels, time will tell if it helps. Next carbon ceramic pads? I just got my 23 G80 M3 xdrive competition- in NY so I need the xdrive.
I don't mind cleaning the wheels fairly often over the Carbon Ceramic premium. That (in my opinion) is not worth it for a car that will not see track duty. However, I do agree with your assessment of the carbon trim options. I should have just opted for that on mine, but its now to late as the car is on a boat heading here now. I'm currently looking at the options from Kies Motorsport, but I'm not to sure about the quality there. Maybe, I will wait to see what you do with that (let you be the guinea pig). Although, I have the XDrive... so I think the ability to go rear wheel drive is tied to M Drive (I have to recheck on that). I didn't get the phone charger because it's cheaper to add yourself after the fact, however on my big ass phones, they never work right. On my ZL1 and Mk VIII Golf R it would either not fit, or would charge so slow that I would never notice. I can't get down with the carbon bucket seats. Regarding the m drive professional, I think you made the right decision since you have the drive. The cost of the Carbon Cermic Rotars is $8500 plus a set of brake calipers, pads and rotors. You don't get the stock stuff in a gift box. And it is bad advice to pretend it is "not the cost" because you finance which actually makes it more expensive. This how people prevent themselves from being financially well off. And the thing is if you never heat them up, they might last forever. However, if you track them, in as little has 1 track day you will likely high temp heat cycle them enough to wear the coating and then eventually you get to replace those expensive rotors. Most smart track people opt for the steel brakes.
CCB’s would’ve looked great against the imola but like you said if you aren’t taking her to the track they are kinda pointless unless you’re ocd ocd lol I’m sure these videos are very helpful to people currently building their new M’s
I have the carbon exterior package and I wish I did not get it, I could have individually selected all the carbon options from the M performance part list, and retain my individual Daytona violet mirrors instead of carbon fiber. Also, if you are worried about break dust, simply ceramic coat the wheels, much better than paying $8500 for sub par carbon ceramics.
I actually gave my full opinion on that here in this video ua-cam.com/video/5uaySe1ZWoQ/v-deo.html It really depends on how long you plan on keeping the car. You'll see what I mean in the video
People think I’m crazy when I tell em . But I always say when I buy an M3 I will learn the car before I start doing crazy shit . The last thing I need is an incident to be my fault.
You make a great point about the M Drive Professional. Too many people who don’t have the driving skills are trying to drift their M3 and crashing it. I’ll be getting my first M car delivered in the spring, a G80 6MT, and I will be taking the time to learn the car’s driving dynamics and grow into it. As for drifting, when the time is right I’ll go to a large frozen lake and safely drift the car there.
I actually don't have that option on my car. I'm actually glad I just don't see the use for myself. I only want based on one of the m340is I had as a loaner and I assumed it was in the center console. The new ones might be under the armrest
I have several mhc carbon parts and they are very nice quality. Several of the parts like the sp1 lip and their 2 vane air ducts give a different look to the front end. I got many more parts for cheaper than the factory carbon package you can option with the car build. I have seen some brands that are wildly expensive. R44 performance recently had a Christmas deal on their inventory and I got much more than the carbon package offers for the same price, sp1 lip, carbon kidney grill, air ducts, canard, rear diffuser. Only thing left out was the carbon mirrors. All mhc parts
What a deal! I ordered their wing during the Black Friday sale. Ended up getting it for around $1,700. A lot of “Nissans” and lower trim M performance cars are using the high kick trunk lip spoiler and I find it to be too generic. I will be getting the sp1 lip and their 2 vans air ducts as well.
Man I knew you were going to say carbon ceramics 😩. Gonna see if I can figure that out or just get some carbon ceramic pads (anyone have any experience with this?). I’m also not sure I want gold over red calipers. But good point regarding wireless charging. It almost never works well. I think I’ll end up deleting that one
The funny thing is that the gold were probably be very eye-catching, because everybody knows that specific goal is carbon ceramics. It's definitely not as common out there. But it's definitely really good to look at. The carbon ceramic brake pads might be my option that I'm going to have to look into later on
@@TheDailyDriven yes for sure. Just hard to pull that trigger! Other options as well as base price have already increased so it’s hard. 8500 is steep… but what a flex lol! Maybe I’ll save a few more pennies. Replacing the rotors just scares the hell out of me. I plan to keep a long time

That's definitely a hefty build. The only thing I would probably take off would be the wireless charging and Wi-Fi hotspot. You just need to ask yourself if that's something you're really going to utilize. Double thumbs up for the individual color though for sure!
@@TheDailyDriven on the Wi-Fi, I want to use the BMW’s credit card like card to open the door and start the car, I don’t want to give it away on the color but I’m might of spilled beans on one of your videos, I have one question, The maintenance on Carbon Ceramic rotors, what the cost to maintain them?
The maintenance on the carbon Ceramics is very costly which is one big downside. They do advertise that it's good for the life of the vehicle. But if you're taking it to the track and you're excessively driving the car hard where the brakes are being abused then it probably won't last. Each rotor is about $4,000 retail
Adding carbon ceramic breaks just to not have brake dust seems silly to me. Get a different set of aftermarket pads if brake dust is a problem. Yea, $8,500 over a 5 year loan, on a month to month basis, isn't a lot, but you're probably looking at $10k after interest on that addition which can be used in a number of places. Unless you're using it at the track, putting carbon ceramic brakes for aesthetic purposes is nuts.
Another great vid, Ken 🤙. Two options I would now not do thanks to you. Thought to do mdrive because on my wife's '21 x3m, we didn't opt that, and there's no way to change dash to m mode. I believed I would need mdrive for this. Strongly considering the cfp, but I prefer the body colored spoiler and would want the "air breather" in cf. There's been recent small changes to the build page on BMW website (for base M3's): no anniversary emblem option, & mirror caps are not body colored. I don't care for shadowline anything, so now have to consider cf caps. As for the brake dust, I deal with the frequent cleanings with regular f97 brakes. The premium for ccb's may make it unaffordable for my g80 but I will be selling my E36 M3, so it should help offset if I do. Also, cleaning 8 regular M car wheels may not be worth my time. I tend to clean my M's more than drive them. Just a caretaker🤔
Ceramic brake package is great for the cool factor; however, when it's time to change those rotors 💰💰💰 That's one of the reasons 911 track junkies switch from ceramic brake package to steel rotors.
Bro, you don't get to keep the rotors forever so buying them for 8k is a waste, especially knowing you'll have to replace them at some point becuz of wear and tear...
Does anyone know how long a regular M brake is going to last, and does anyone know how long does the bmw CC break going to last, if you using for a daily driving, maybe a track day once a year or so

A fully spec M3 is 100k or lil over 100k. It's really expensive and now u can get used M8 or M5 for 80 to 90k
Another suggestion for your channel you make other videos like workout videos 💪🏼 or vlogs to increase your views and diversity of your channel. Just a suggestion.

But I might take some options off, Going to play around with it a little more, But I do want the ceramic brakes, Waiting for LCi for the M4 I want Idrive 8
The brake dust horror is real. I wish I could have stretched into the ceramics.
Oh it definitely is. But there's definitely a few brake pads that others have been using that's been minimizing the horrid brake dust issue
Ceramic brake package is great for the cool factor; however, when it's time to change those rotors 💰💰💰
That's one of the reasons 911 track junkies switch from ceramic brake package to steel rotors.
Bro, you don't get to keep the rotors forever so buying them for 8k is a waste, especially knowing you'll have to replace them at some point becuz of wear and tear...
Carbon ceramic brakes are not worth the extra cost.
My 850 wheels bleed brake dust
Yup within 5 minutes...a ton of brake dust !
Does anyone know how long a regular M brake is going to last, and does anyone know how long does the bmw CC break going to last, if you using for a daily driving, maybe a track day once a year or so
Beautiful car
Thank you ! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
I have wireless charger on two of my cars. Yup! They’re useless with my cases🤙
💯💯💯💯
I regret not fully loaded and unlimited budget ,lol
The unlimited budget would be definitely ideal LOL
@@TheDailyDriven my wife just got 23 m3xdrive last Friday. She likes it, but she said it is a harsh ride(her previous car was 17 540xi). For me, this car is a bit same to my 2010 GTR(sold it like 8 years ago).
Have you guys tried comfort mode on the suspension? That might help on the harshness. Then again this is a performance Sedan.
@@TheDailyDriven we both did since the car only under 150km,not M power yet, just normal driving. It should fun to try. However, it slip a bit in raining day when you turning.
bros solution to brake dust is the $9k carbon brakes /next
I'm definitely not alone on that lol
Trust me, you don't want CCB's.
How are you legally allowed to drive around carrying those guns bro...
Lol 😅..its Florida a right to bare arms state lol
Chattin
Videos a bit long and repetitive. Good content if pared down a little. Save the manuals
Manual hold value lol those are the cheapest ones out there and nobody wants them at all they collecting dust at dealerships.
This is the last manual M3. Wait till all the hybrids/ full electric cars. It'll be sought out. Just like the E9x M3's. Manuals are worth more as compared to the DCT.
No Ceramic is not good for people who are track focus. Costs too much to replace, you want steel brakes. Everyone knows this.
Yeah I know and that was something i was willing to deal with but now im just going to look for a set of aftermarket pads that are low dust
