Dope I've been wanting to try the s2400 the web site says they are out of stock now. Guess I'll be waiting, keep up the boom bap, peace and blessings from Raleigh, N.C .
I have been listening this kind of stuff almost 20 years but just recognized that is boom bap) can sound non stop mode! Great feeling and skills, keep going man
I rate mine so much that even the Rossum SP isn't on my radar as a target for my next windfall. As I am scrolling through reading the comments while the video is playing, when I hear something that catches my ear with that SP sound, so far it's been the Sample Trak every time. The S2400 sounds much cleaner, without the artifacts that I hear on the ST-224 tracks.
Mannn sounds good. I was super hoping to hear them both used together in some creative fashion though. Picking up my Isla today, and trying to brainstorm ways to use both in tandem. It’s cool the zoom has the effects. Seems like a perfect buddy for the S2400
Dude this is hard af, both beats ive listened to so far are🔥 I have a sampletrak but would love to try an Isla s2400 if i had the money, very jealous haha keep up the good work✌
I have both also, I'm really tripping out how good they sound next to each other, that zoom is well underated. It also has the sp1200/s2400 vibe going on easily. If only they perfected the midi on the zoom.
Good production, interesting video, i can make à comparison, i have à zoom and i chose to not buy the 2400, because there is no" also sp 1200/ 2400 vibe", there is no sp 1200/ 2400 at all.i chose to not named it completly, just the 2400 because there is no sp at all just in this video i can hear that the zoom sound better more dynamic more colored than the 2400, i dream of the sp since 1992 and Mecca the soul brother and i wait for the 2400 since isla instrument annonced it, and i decide to buy an sp 12 turbo, If you want the sp vibe, buy an sp or Dream about it, If you want the mpc vibe, buy an mpc 3000 and If you want a Ford mustang buy à Ford mustang not an émulation of it.
@@karimalloul3809 I actually like the S2400 more then the Sp1200. The S2400 is way more future proofed then the SP1200 and it also hits very hard. The S2400 was never meant to be a Sp1200. It's more like an evolution of it. The newest remake the Rossum Sp1200 is more of a replica of the original. But in this day and age, I would never in my right mind spend 4000 for 20 seconds of sample time or 15000 for the original Sp1200. With the 2400 you can go Clean or go Aliased or you can resample internally. That's having options. It also has unlimited sample time.. the sky is the limit with that machine. It will get it's flowers sooner than later also.
@@justinmerritt3843 Some people have no Idea. I had the SP12 Turbo back n the day. The workflow was so damn slow, especially with having to use an Amiga floppy drive, plus that mofo got hot. I was always scared something was gonna blow. The S2400 is solid, I'm loving it.

The 8 outs of the S2400 go through nice EQs and a reverb, the Sampletrak goes raw without any mixing into my soundcard. I think that's an unfair comparison :D
@@asbeluxt Hi, So your asserting that the zoom sounds the same as the s2400 raw?. I would be interested for you to do a direct test. Keep on as well with beat making and been creatve.
@@thegroove2000 No I am not saying they are sounding exactly the same, but they definitely go in the same direction soundwise. The s2400 just sounds nicer because the beats that come out of it are kinda mixed with my tascam. Overall the s2400 has the nicer workflow and more features, but the Sampletrak is definitely a good alternative if you are on a budget and like to have a portable sampler
Brooo !! Is that the Isla Instruments S2400 making it sound so nice ? Or is it your samples and maybe processing ? This sounds really really good. It has that old boombap sound but it sounds really clean nice and tight in a modern way. What is doing the midi sequencing ? The timing sounds really good too. I'm so impressed ! I'd just love a simple breakdown of your process here. Thank you for making this video ! Those beats are spot on !
Thanks for your kind words! The S2400 has a distinct sound to it if you pitch the samples down. The lower the sample the dirtier the sound so I pitch it waaaay down :D I tried to mix the individual outputs as clean as possible for this rough machine. I also use an external reverb (which is unfortunately a bit too loud in this video, but whatever..). This makes my snare and hihat sound a lot more interesting and boombapier. I think it also depends on the samples I am using, I always look for a specific kind of sample that works great with the sound of the S2400, but it's hard to describe what I am looking for exactly. The sequencing is also done in the S2400. It has a nice swing that you can set in percent to get the best regroove out of this machine. I hope this helped you! If not, you have to wait until next week when I upload a full beatmaking Video using the S2400.
