This sounds insane... but im the current owner of this exact truck! I still have your sticker on the rear left quarter glass. glad to watch your review, its good to see others enjoy this truck as much as i do... even if its a turtle lol. A lot has been changed since you have driven it. if you ever want to drive it again, let me know!
I had this car to pull my horse trailer. In Germany, the car was called the Terrano 1. The next model was the Terrano 2. The funny thing was: The new model had the same rudimentary driving comfort. No comparison to today's SUVs. But it was a great time! Both models have rusted away from me. Thank you for this beautiful film to another time!
Nice! There were some really neat Autech versions as well. This generation also was the Terrano in Europe. The things you mentioned: Don´t forget that this is still an 80s car. It was built from 1986-1995.
4:38 well its not a choke, its a fast iddle knob, you turn or pull that knob to increase the rpm on cold start, once the engine got to operating temperatures you can push or turn back the knob for the normal iddle, also fun fact, in Costa Rica we got the D21 with that TD27 N/A engine, my father's 1990 D21 was once own by the United States of America embassy in Costa Rica and man you can beat and beat those engines holy hell Nissan back in the day make some tough little engines
@@reegankeeley6213 althou when I hear choke I can imagine like a restriction in the carburetor, on a diesel engine you just imcrease the amount of fuel that the pump injects, the airflow and all remains the same without any restriction
OMG. That thing is gorgeous. So f'n cool. From a car lover at that. That gen of hardbody, pathy, terrano have always been my fave. The Toyotas get the love, but these were just as good, if not better in many ways.
I have a D21 pickup 4x2 with the TD27 NA engine (non turbo). Slow as a 🐌 but ultra reliable and easy to maintain. The engine is stupidly simple and runs like a Swiss watch. It has the sufficient power/torque ratio for a work truck.
Those moonroof covers are next to impossible to find in the US for the USDM Pathfinders. They always got lost or broken. So it's rare to have that period.
In 1992 USDM cars still used R-12. It wasn't until the mid-90's that it changed. Similar timing to OBD-2, I think OBD-2 came on to the scene a year or 2 after R-134a
Road with 4 people in an Isuzu Rodeo from VA to Canada. The high rear floor board kept knee joints under stress and was like a torture rack. It’s best viewed as a 3-seater 2 front and a person can treat the rear seat like a couch.
Great review I’m from New Zealand and we have heaps of terranos in all different configurations the factory td27 diesel engines are slower then slow however with increased fuel and boost and a few small supporting mods you can get decent power
It's not really a chock has nothing to do with flooding with fuel it just pulls the throttle cable to warm up without keeping foot on pedal.Big improvement put a V8 diesel air system with a snorkle the Nissan one was for to small for a turbo.
❤ У меня таких два! Один для рыбалки, другой для города. Оба 1992 года ТД 27. Городской - красавчик! Красный, с велюровым салоном цвета бордо. Крылья передние заржавели - новые поставил. Машины - класс!
We've had a bad experience with ours (2003 Terrano), but it was more engine related than transmission related. I'm still.not a huge fan of manual transmissions in SUVs, especially if they're driven more on road, but I guess it's great to have one for offroading, so I can understand the appeal for them.
Yo Zack. We need to have a quick chin wiggle. "Stereotypical" is not synonymous with "typical". "Stereotypical of (carmaker) in the (era)" makes no sense. Even just the word "stereotypical" isn't really a useful word, though it could be shorthand adjective to describe person who conforms to a stereotype. A stereotype is a widely held but fixed and oversimplified impression of a particular type of person, especially relating to ethnicity, religious, or political affiliation. It does not usually apply to inanimate objects. If you only used the word occasionally, I'd not say anything, but this has become a staple of your videos and it's starting to bother me.
Gearbox: chillin. Transfer case: I MUST DANCE
When you say terrano at 0:10, you perfectly say Toronto the way a person from Toronto would say Toronto.
Source: I’m from Toronto.
Love the vid!

You just described a choke
@@reegankeeley6213 come to think about it, yes thats a freking choke HAHAHAHHAHA

My mom and dad had a 88 Pathfinder 2 door (in 94 or so). Black , with a 3.0 liter V6. (5-speed manual as well). Sure miss it.
I miss the trucks and SUVs of the 90s. Had one of these (US Pathfinder) and it was ahead of its time back in 87.
Damn I already love this Terrano more than the Hilux Surf!! Nah obviously I love both of them. These JDM SUVs are awesome!!

Love your reviews! You bring different kind of cars which i didnt know about that path finder in japan. Great review!
Great review. Those great old days with manual transmission SUVS. We were happy with them, now they are all boring.

Best review ever!
hahaha "Cons: Sllllllloooooooooowwww"
Really cool to see a JDM pathfinder and that is a gorgeous color. Great generation of vehicle.

Glad I loved it hopefully some time soon I will see u again!
Buy another Miata rn😤
Forgot to mention this was the first time Nissan had those hidden door handles for the back seat.
That is one of the things I miss about the Pathfinder. When they redesigned it to look like a bloated wagon/minivan in 2013 it lost that feature.
This thing is awesome. Probably awesome towing a drift car.
I saw one towing a box truck 😊
The choke is actually attached to the throttle cable.
Good cars my dad bought the terrano 3 door td27 on the 90's an intercooler and a bit more Boost helps the lag of power
That's sick! Just a question, was the td27 turbo engine relatively fuel efficient, did you need to stop at the gas station often?
Zack we need more old Suv-s
That transfer case shift lever looks terrified.
JDM numbawan!
I HAVE 1992 MODEL NISSAN TERRANO 4X4 MATIC ON THE PHILS
Those vents always melt, USDM or JDM. They used bad plastics. The same thing with the speedometer and tachometer needles.
Z32 300zx t-top covers are very similar.
My neighbour has one. I think the steering wheel on the left tho, im not sure
Gotta drive the v6 version they haul ass feel like a rally raid truck
Looks like my 1995 Pathfinder
Tengo el mismo pero sin turbo es muy lento pero una maravilla para el campo muy confiable una máquina
I own this now in colorado
Настоящий авто
Для настоящих мужиков💪
Современные авто сейчас из пластмассы👎
Turn the fuel and boost up. All mechanical procedure and a different car imediatly!
Great car for movie villains, looks mean.
efi diesel turbo made 130 hp & 278 nm normal mechanical turbo made 123 hp and 242 nm

Men I just brought so happy
That's my buddy Jimmy's car!!
Ayy what’s up
The fact I was going to buy one of these but auto the other days is a bit sus
Cool
Nice car
I wouldn’t mind having that slow diesel engine in my pathfinder. The vg30e isn’t that fast either 😅

Its not a choke fool its a hand throttle
Handbrik not fangtion
Take care of that turbo before it runs away on you.
I want to rent a car in Canada and rent this car
Nissan puck up d21
SUV's with manual transmissions🤮😖☹️
Why?! It's a performance feature that makes an SUV more fun.
