I do have access to an outside lot if I decided on the 9” but then I’d be parking outside so it would really have to be worth it.
Thank you. Well, most chevys have the 4” lift and I just liked the look of the 9”. Both tan good. I did not like the rake however on the 4”. I think rough country’s lift gives it a more leveled stance. 9” just looked bad ass, but yes, no parking garages. Did you see the video with the 9”?
@Ezio Comparini - Wow this looks awesome. Great look! Quick question, I know this is FabTech, but would you suggest RC or BDS for a 4" lift for my trail boss? I do light to moderate off-roading, and not very often. Thanks in advance! & again, super awesome look on this truck!
@@eziocomparini7068 awesome. So you're saying get the monotube shocks right? And did you do just the standard strut spacers or the front config. or the lifted struts?
dalliofficial yes! Just spacers it’s good enough. No need for expensive components unless you’re racing Baja. LOL. Mono tube rear shocks and you’re good to go my friend.
So I’ve been trying to understand. I have a 2020 6.2 Trail Boss and want to fit 295/70/18. I was thinking a 1.75-2” level kit. With a 4” Level kit, since the trail boss is already lifted by 2”, is the 4” level kit only really adding another 2”?
So a 4” lift is 4” more than stock for the trail boss, which it is a 6” for a non trail boss. The kits are basically the same for trail boss to non trail boss. Make sense? A 6” lift for a non trail boss lifts the trail boss 4” as we sit 2” higher as is.
The Trail Boss and GMC AT4 come with a 2” suspension lift. It’s a suspension package that GM offers for its trucks. You can technically create a LTZ Texas edition (badging) Trail Boss, if you’re buying a new truck. You can’t “add” a 4” suspension lift on top of a 2” suspension lift to get a 6” lift. You’d have to buy a 6” lift. I’ve owned several Chevy trucks and you can pretty much put any package you want on the trucks (if buying new). The Texas edition for example just comes with the LTZ convenience package, the safety I package, 20” chrome wheels, and it says Texas edition. Trail boss has z71 off road package, a 2” front lift, and it says trail boss. I just bought a 2019 LTZ Texas Edition 4x4 with a 6” lift the dealership put on. I could pay them to put Trail Boss on the truck just bc it looks cool. But any good lift is gonna have better shocks than Rancho that come w z71 and every lift comes with skid plates, so it really depends on what badging you want man. Definitely hope I don’t sound rude just trying to help.
Need some help, ironically I have the same truck color too 🤦🏼. Got a 4” BDS lift with same tires and wheel size. Nitto ridge grapplers too. Two issues, one it rubs and the lift shop said they cannot take the front mud flaps off Bc they’re attached to the frame 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️ WTF. Two, getting speed wobble around 60mph+ not horrible but enough to piss me off. Any help thoughts ideas would be greatly appreciated.
You have to remove the mud flaps and do some trimming there. Watch the rest of my videos. I go over every thing. Speed wobble I bet you is from not adding hub rings to your after market wheels. Good luck.
@@eziocomparini7068 Not yet, getting more pissed off by the day. It's a long story but considering the amount of $ paid I should not be having this issue. The tire shop provided the hub rings but they're not the ones that put the wheels on, so I have to double check they were put on as well. work in progress.
I can't wait I forgot to mention my truck is the same color as well i gotta ask why did you switch the fabtech 4 to the 9 inch lift i have been watching your video to kinda see what mine will look like let me know why you switched very curious
Travis Tryon I just like the look of the 9” with the 35” tires. Fabtech has a rake which I didn’t like. I like a leveled look. If I was to do the 4” again, I would go with Rough Country and upgrade the rear shocks. Visit me on IG liv_now1 for pics.
What MPG did you get with this setup? I have a 2021 in the same color and thinking about going 4" BDS with 35/12.5/22 also. Stock i only get 14 mpg around my house.
We’ll stock I got 13 city and 15 highway. I’ve since did a 9” lift. Check out the video and mpg stayed the same. I added an air aid unrestricted intake tube, K&N drop in filter and a muffler delete. Man!!! 16 city and 21hwy at 70mph not to mention the power difference. It is 100% noticeable. No lie. I did the same mods in a Ram Hemi and lost bottom end power. Our trucks? Best performance mods. Go big with Mcgaughys of FTS. YOU won’t regret it. Skip the 4” lift.
@@eziocomparini7068 I went with the BDS 6inch, would have would to go with the 9 but was worried about it fitting in my garage. What intake tube did you install?
From stock to this what’s the overall handling change? Is it much louder? I love my ride right now and don’t want to sacrifice the stable feel it has. But i want the look you have too!!
Poway Imports rides the same and not loud at all. Nothing to make it louder other than adding mud terrain tires. See my new video with a 9” lift and truck rides the same. Now, if you’re driving fast they curves, that will be affected however as Center if gravity has increased.
Exactly. The 2” lift is taken off the truck and the 9” lift is installed, the same way it is installed in a non Trailboss model. So this kit raises the Silverado 9” from factory. 7” for the Trailboss as from factory we already have a 2” installed. Make sense? In other words a non Trailboss and a Trailboss with the FTS lift, they would sit at the same height.
@@eziocomparini7068 I need to start selling drugs😆 This is my first new vehicle. In hindsight, I should of bought all my upgrades before I got my truck. Im one of the idiots paying 850$ a month, and my monthly income is like 2200🤣.
Check out my other videos that show how to increase mpg. After these mods, I was getting the same as I did when I first bought it, even with the 9” lift. I explain every mpg mod and they’re very easy.
Jay Folts oh awesome. I’ll look for you. Yes, I like the height now, but never had a tall truck so I’m going for it this tine. I’ve had heels as well. Look at my IG and check out my old JL. Did some fun off reading with it.
Nice. Hard to make the move to truck from the Jeep. We go a lot of places off road still. Want to do a trailer and the Jeep just doesn't have a huge capacity.
Jay Folts I love all cars, keeps, trucks. They all have their pros and cons. I love sheep for life. What I like about the truck is that it’s like an SUV inside and comfort, has a bed to carry stuff if needed, 4x4, and it looks cool. So it checks off most of my requirements than other vehicles. 😉
@@floridas_own well that’s ok. 20x10 are just fine. It’s all about the proportionate look you’re giving the truck. For instance, I had more compliments when the truck was just leveled with the 20x10 than any other time. I too now have a Ram night edition completely stock and I’m happy with it as is.
Fabtech kit are essentially the same thing for the trail boss and non Trailboss. The Trailboss Lot has different front strut brackets as the Trailboss comes lifted 2” from factory. Call them directly if you’re gonna order.
I have an at4 and I am debating on a leveling kit or a 4 inch lift either to make my truck a 6 inch in total or just 4inch but I don’t wanna sacrifice the ride quality or too much gas mileage this is my first truck and my first time modifying it any help would help
Lorenco C check out my new video with the 8” lift. LOL. They all ride like factory, I’ve had them all. Our trucks look good regardless. Do a leveling kit and some aggressive tires and the truck looks great. It’s up to you. Mpg suffered with the heavier wheels & 35’s. But got it back up by deleting the muffler, adding a K&N drop in filter and a non restrictive intake tube.
Lorenco C no, they would have to pin point what caused the damage to blame it on something. But none of this lift cause any weird angles that would cause defects. All angles remain the same as stock. You’ll be safe going either route. But if you like high and clean, save up for the FTS or Mcgaughys 9” lift. Looks great and rides like stock. I hit 90mph today in the highway for a second and it was smooth as glass.

Ethan Noel thanks! There’s no logic behind it. LOL don’t go off road in the truck. It’s a daily driven truck. Check out my other videos. Jeep JL Rubicon was good off road. These trucks are too big for off-road anyways. A Tacoma would be a better choice.
It still rubbed a bit with the 4” (total 6” lift) without trimming. Trimming is a must. Slight, but has to be done. With the 9” lift I have now, now rubbing without trimming. Mine was already trimmed from before but if you’re going straight to a 9” lift, no trimming required.

Looks good. What color is that? How you like the truck? Not sure if I should take a look or pull the trigger on the Ford!
David Holzman hi, is the shadow grey and I like the truck very much. I like all trucks tho. Had a Ram which I liked a lot too. They’re all good. Go with the best looking truck and best deal. Then lift it and add some bigger tires and or wheels. 👍
David Holzman if you’re gonna lift a Chevy, don’t pay extra for the Trailboss. Get a regular 4x4 and lift it. Saves you money. I should have.
also what motor do you have or does it only come with one option ? not familiar with the Chevys
There’s a 6.2L as well. I don’t have interior pics. It’s nice, basic but nice.
Great truck bro
Thank you.
Just curious did you buy just 4 wheels/tires or 5 ?
Only 4.
I think this looks great and want to do the same but now I see you have videos of a 9” FTS lift and say that you wish you did that to start with. What was wrong with this setup in the video that made you change to the 9”? It’s my everyday driver and I do work downtown and park in a parking garage.
What a beauty 😯
Looks great bud
Nice. Thank you. I like my 9” lift better tho. LOL.
Is that a puddle of water from the ac or are you leaking some other fluid underneath?
A/C. LOL.
@Ezio Comparini - Wow this looks awesome. Great look! Quick question, I know this is FabTech, but would you suggest RC or BDS for a 4" lift for my trail boss? I do light to moderate off-roading, and not very often. Thanks in advance! & again, super awesome look on this truck!
dalliofficial RC is cheaper and just as good. Just get the upgraded rear shocks.
Ready lift as a 4 inch option As well I was thinking about going that route on my 2020 trail boss
How’s the kit holding up any maintenance or issues with it ?
I went to a 9” lift shortly after, so I can’t answer your question. However, they’re a reputable brand.
What’s a rake
The angle. So if it leans down in the front it has a rake. If the truck is leveled front and rear, it has no rake.
is it not equivalent to a 6 inch lift bc the TB already have a two inch lift????
Yes, comparing it to a regular Silverado.
Clean ser up man👍
So I’ve been trying to understand.
Good luck.
@@eziocomparini7068 I've been looking through your videos, thank you much.
@@Lawmandan81 awesome. Hope they help. Did you get your truck fixed?
@@eziocomparini7068 Not yet, getting more pissed off by the day. It's a long story but considering the amount of $ paid I should not be having this issue. The tire shop provided the hub rings but they're not the ones that put the wheels on, so I have to double check they were put on as well. work in progress.
@@Lawmandan81 ugh damn. Never fails. Good luck. It will be right after all.
Did you have to add spacers to clear the brake caliper?
No, these wheels don’t need spacers, they clear just fine.
You can definitely tell the lip is huge in the video just got to know what to look for
Yeah, it doesn’t look bad ass.
Travis what color is this called for the trail boss
Bryan Highley it is called the shadow grey. Very pretty in person.
@@eziocomparini7068 Yeah it is. I just bought the same truck with that color. Awesome.
Airaid intake tube. And yes, 9” does not fit in regular gaffes. LOL.
I purchased the same lift kit. Full throttle 7 inch kit for my 2020 trail boss and they said the 2 inches will not add to it. Your thoughts?
So is this the 7 or 9 inch lift from full throttle?
@@tawlkturkey it’s the same lift. Just raised the Trailboss 7” from factory am regular Silverado 9”.
How much $ was it to take your stock boss, and do all this?
I can’t remember. When I did the 9” lift was like $4,000 installed.
@@eziocomparini7068 I need to start selling drugs😆
This is my first new vehicle. In hindsight, I should of bought all my upgrades before I got my truck. Im one of the idiots paying 850$ a month, and my monthly income is like 2200🤣.
How mpg where you getting trying to decide if I wanna do this set
Check out my other videos that show how to increase mpg. After these mods, I was getting the same as I did when I first bought it, even with the 9” lift. I explain every mpg mod and they’re very easy.
Damn that looks really good. Been considering picking one up. Which color is that?
Jay Folts tha m you. This is the shadow grey. Great truck.
Thanks! Great color. Looks about the perfect height for what I would be doing. Just followed on IG with my Jeep acct. Can’t wait too see the new lift.
I’m debating if I wasn’t to get the 20x10 or 22x12 in the same rim on my RAM. Which one did you like better?
I like 22”. 24”s even better. LOL.
@@eziocomparini7068so after it all I went with the 20x10. I made your same mistake. I want 22s now and a lift. Lol 😆
Link to which fabtech kit you went with?
Fabtech kit are essentially the same thing for the trail boss and non Trailboss. The Trailboss Lot has different front strut brackets as the Trailboss comes lifted 2” from factory. Call them directly if you’re gonna order.
Is that the short bed or standard bed nice truck
YungDiddy short bed....
Great upgrade,, what’s the cost of the lift and tire package ..
Dan H the lift was like $1,900 install $800. Wheels $1100, tires $1800. Do a Rough country tho. It’s cheaper and just as good. I should have...
Ezio Comparini thanks man ,, really appreciate it
Dan H sure thing!!! Best of luck with your build.
What about your warranty, is the warranty voided because of the lift you did
Long as you don’t go over the 4”...which in turn is a 6” lift warranty will be fine.
What color is this called?
What retractable running boards are you running?
The ones on my truck. You open the door and they come out for you to step on....
Are you running spacers?
No, these wheels don’t need them.
Very clean and you took off the ugly trail boss stickers, first thing i would do.
Haha! Yes. Didn’t like the sticker. Since then, it’s been lifted 9”. I have a video on it if you like to see it. Thanks for the compliment
Where did you get hitch cover?
LOL. eBay.
@@eziocomparini7068 Also do you know if adding a lift or level kit will affect the warranty with GM?
Lorenco C no, they would have to pin point what caused the damage to blame it on something. But none of this lift cause any weird angles that would cause defects. All angles remain the same as stock. You’ll be safe going either route. But if you like high and clean, save up for the FTS or Mcgaughys 9” lift. Looks great and rides like stock. I hit 90mph today in the highway for a second and it was smooth as glass.
@@eziocomparini7068 9 inch is a little too high for me because i still want to keep it in the garage if I can that’s why I’m stuck between 2inch sst level or 4 inch lift such as bds
Lorenco C yes, no garage for me as my bike is in my spot anyways. LOL. Go with the 4” Rough Countey and just upgrade the rear shocks. I didn’t like the BDS as much. Gave the truck a rake. I like it leveled.
Did you ever get rid of your 4 in fab tech lift?
Armando Garcia I have someone buying it.
Great look
Michael Cosenza thank you. I’m still thinking a bit higher tho.
@@eziocomparini7068 I thought the factory two inch lift was high. But the 4 extra inches on that is about the sweet spot.

Ethan Noel thanks! There’s no logic behind it. LOL don’t go off road in the truck. It’s a daily driven truck. Check out my other videos. Jeep JL Rubicon was good off road. These trucks are too big for off-road anyways. A Tacoma would be a better choice.

@@eziocomparini7068 got the 6.2 two weeks ago I hope 🤞 it won’t be an issue. Lot of lifter failures reported.
Hmm. What are they saying? I can’t correlate an engine issue with lift. I could see transmission if angles aren’t right but not engine.
Trailbosses are sitting on 2" lift on stock so you added 4" that's total 6" that's why there's no rub. That's how trailboss works
It still rubbed a bit with the 4” (total 6” lift) without trimming. Trimming is a must. Slight, but has to be done. With the 9” lift I have now, now rubbing without trimming. Mine was already trimmed from before but if you’re going straight to a 9” lift, no trimming required.
Maybe he didn't use a spacer or not too thick to not require a trim.
No spacers
