This song brings back so many memories, the good old days and nights in Camden, when new friendships and new loves would just pop out of the blue, and everything felt sweet and warm.
You’re so right. It takes me back to when I was a 1st year apprentice. I would be at a gig every weekend in Newcastle, I didn’t even care who was playing but I’d be dancing away there and feeling invincible, I never even seen age coming so fast.

That’s where Stephen Street was a bad influence on his vocals. When Mick Jones produced he allowed Pete to sing naturally in the moment like a live take, but then Street encouraged him to go for it in a vocal booth and really project his voice but it doesn’t suit his songs

It’s a bittersweet thing sitting here at 23:20, the kids have gone to bed and reminiscing, listening to this song. It’s brings me so many memories and emotions back. I remember how it was being young and excited for life. I wouldn’t give up what I have now but I’d love to just have one night again being 18 standing in front of the stage at the Carling Academy, waiting for the band coming out.

Havent heard this song for years and still knew virtually every word. Pete Doherty is incredibly notoriuos and still somehow doesnt get the artistic respect he deserves I think. Him and Amy were the last real rockstars in the old magically fvxked up and briliant sense I think. Arctic Monkeys were too in their early days, and to many still are but thats a different breed altogether. They were as good and prolly better in their art and overall music output to most actually but yeah, a different breed.

I agree with you, The Libs and Pete himself have had recognition and had appeared in so many "Greatest" and "Best of" lists of the noughties (i.e. NME conducted a poll in which they included Pete as one of the greatest musical heroes of all time, just to name a single mag.). What I meant, is that they're very underrated by the public in general, music and rock fans alike. They're known only in the UK and some Europe countries, but not in America or the rest of the world. PS. I'm from Colombia.

Where indie bands, or bands coming from the independent scene used to get the hype they deserved (Smiths, Oasis, Blur, Suede, Stone Roses, etc) times where rock and guitar music was the main genre in the world, the main character, those were the biggest acts in the world, and it was cool to go buy their albums and concert tickets and ask 4 their songs on the radio and TV. Nowadays it's only about pop shit commercial music and electronic music..
