I see why this was deleted because we already knew they got married and had Mavis, but it would have been really beautiful to see this fully animated. Still I am actually quite happy to see at least this scene by the actual animation studio shown for us to see in any form at all.

While they didn't use this scene in the movie, I do appreciate the fact that they reused a couple of elements from this scene for the sequel, namely Dracula and Mavis dancing on the ceiling during her and Johnny's wedding, and the way Mavis revealed to her father that she was pregnant. I like to think that these moments from this deleted scene are still part of the continuity of the film series, so it's really kinda sweet and heartwarming that Drac and Mavis danced the same way Drac and Martha did. Bottom line, great deleted scene, glad some elements weren't forgotten :-)

With Hotel Transylvania 3, how did Dracula zing with the captain on his cruise, but he first zinged with Martha, and you only zing once in your life? I am like so confused.
I guess since his Zing passed away, she was probably reincarnated as a human, a Van Helsing at that. I’d like to think that this is the only way to Zing again, is if you meet your long lost love in their next life.

@@ravenartistofficial honestly instead of Captain Erica it would have been better if Martha was reincarnated as a Human but she had the same if not similar facial hair/face but wasnt Martha then the zing makes sense cos Dracula would only zing to the person who he once loved and Mavis could have a Mother complex around her too for more character development cos she never remembers her mother and we never got to even see her (except for a portrait frame) and it could make a full circle with Drac having his own love again and Mavis with a mother along with her grandchildren etc I dunno why they left out this story scene infact it would make more sense in the movie and they could have made her death more dramatic and it explains dracula paranoia and protectiveness of the hotel/castle and avoidance around humans could have had him instantly disliking Johnny right when they first initially met trying to scare him off rather than Johnny thinking its a Halloween party and Drac just forgets he hates Humans and tries to Help him find a disguise instead which also made no sense to me in the plot.. would have been better if Johnny kept returning to the hotel or made a disguise for himself and then stumbled into Mavis and then drac couldnt get rid of him cos she met him like the plot for this movie could have been written better but cos its a Kids Movie it loses potential.. similar to Zootopia their first story idea was amazing but they scrapped the idea cos the plot was far too dark or something and im guessing these stories have to be written to follow a certain criteria ?
Where was the midwife? Did Drac really make his wife give birth completely ALONE?!?! But seriously, this sequence is adorable. I don't know where it would've fit in the story, but I'm glad it wasn't completely forgotten.
well remember, that was 118 years ago. men weren't allowed in the same room when the woman was giving birth until the 1960s/1970s because it was a woman issue to deal with early on and sometimes men couldn't handle the intensity of child birth and hence the nurses made the husband stay out of the room.

He still loves Martha....he hasn't seen anyone for over 100 years since she died....he built the hotel for her, he protected their daughter for her, and now that daughter is grown up and has a family of her own and their friends and all the monsters in the world are now safe......it's time to learn to love again....but loving again doesn't mean he'll stop loving Martha....

Otherwise I guess it's up to the writers of fan fiction to give the viewers closure
Well, saving the reveal of Lady Lubov for later helps set things up dramatically, to say nothing of the final version giving us a new take on the classic Dracula balcony scene.

I'm disappointed that this scene was cut out from the movie It would've added so much more depth to Dracula's character and made his motivation for protecting Mavis more fleshed out.
Not because it was deleted means it didn't happen. The story is built up with many scenes, some are shown, some are not it's like a little camera and you choose where to point it. This part of the story was probably not shown to deeper Dracula's sadness when he's trying to burry the past deep behind him instead of moving on, hence his blind hatred for the humans.

Honestly, Ericka is a good person and her character development was amazing. I just wished that Drac only zinged ONCE and that's it. I still don't get how he zinged twice since you can only zing once. Yes, Drac is lonely being alone but I just don't think that I approve Draricka. Don't get me wrong, I love the franchise, Drac, Ericka, and they're cute, but Martha should be the only love of Drac :((
True. However being immortal can be quite boring. Both he and Mavis will outlive Johnny and Erica, therefore it is set for heartbreak, so it makes sense that they sing after their former loved one passes away.
As awesome this scene is, It is nearly impossible to find a place to put it in, it can't go near the beginning since it gives too much information and it would slow down the film's pacing if put anywhere else
+Dracomut it would've been perfect when Dracula tells Johnny what really happened to Martha or when Mavis and Jonhnny kiss for the first time. Or after the Zing book was read. So mention of it at any of those times would've been perfect!
+Jowen B. Layug Jr. Have you not seen the movie? Zing is the term that the monsters use for "Love at first sight" So when someone "Zings" its love at first sight. And the Zing book was the book with a poem about how Mavis parents met, felt a "Zing" and knew right then they be husband and wife for a Zing only happens once in your life! that's part of the poem. Her mom is telling her one day she'll feel her Zing and to cherish it for true love doesn't come by as often as people think it does and when you do find someone you 'zing' with well it does only happen once in your life. So they met in Hawaii but they felt their "Zing" there and this would've been perfect to be seen a number of times in the movie!
I wish they would have animated this at least in a short form so we could understand why Dracula resented humans a little better. Could have been some great character development here!
This is heartbreaking. The scene shows that Dracula and Martha really cared for each other, and no matter how much you’re entertained, and how much you smile, you can’t help but feel sad. You love this scene as it shows Dracula as the happiest he’s ever been, but you know that Martha died when Mavis was only a baby, and didn’t get to see her child grow up. This scene, while sweet and entertaining, is about to open the water mill for business when you know what happened, breaking Drac’s family, heart, and mind. He was never the same after the love of his life was killed.
I love the scene. The pacing and everything, wish it was fleshed out and put in! It’s gonna sound weird but I’m glad they also gave the extra “dad-crew” stuff to do. Almost more in this scene than in their movies combined it feels like tbh, yet somehow not overstaying their welcome.
Not to be the one person going 'meh' - but I can see why this wasn't used. The cameramovement is awesome, nice transitions and all, but it's too slow overall, and really, everything is pretty clichè. There's nothing surprising here and I don't feel like mr. and mrs. Dracula have a very unique relationship at all. Maybe it's an unfair comparison but play this and the opening scene to UP alongside each other. They are pretty much trying to put across the same point, but UP is SO much more effective and touching. The most noticable part is that they never show mr. and mrs. dracula going through any trouble together, which is such a missed opportunity. A scene like this is not a bad idea, I love backstory as much as anyone, but the characters and the story deserve better!
I hate the fact that Drac has fallen in love with Erika not only for defeating the purpose of the first movie but also for implying that someone is only happy if they are in a relationship, as if friends and family aren't enough. Otherwise all the singles in the world would be unhappy.
I really think it would’ve been a better idea for them to have made a prequel involving these two before they came out with the second and third movie. Just imagine, we get to see Martha and Dracula meet and fall in love, but instead of skipping right to the marriage we instead get to see them spend actual time together going on fun adventures and Drac having to juggle guy-time and time with his girlfriend, I can already see his guy pals getting super jealous over Martha or teasing Drac about being inlove. Of course the ending would be something along the lines of the guy friends realizing that Martha makes Drac happy and that they should learn to accept and adapt, and of course hinting at them all meeting their significant others as well. Then they could’ve easily added Part 2 which takes place after Hotel Transylvania Part 1, where Mavis and Johnny get married and have Dennis, and part 3 where Drac instead is celebrating his Anniversary in a room with a picture of his wife, reminiscing about the wonderful past spent with her(instead of showing him on tinder 🤦🏻♀️). I could picture Mavis overhearing her father talk to the painting about how lonely it has been, and how hard it was to raise their child alone for all those years but that he is truly happy she found love and how Martha would’ve adored Dennis. Mavis takes things into her own hands and THIS is what leads to everyone going on a cruise ship, Mavis’ mission being to set her father up with someone on the cruise unaware of the malicious intent of the captain. Now doesn’t that sound like a better plot? Or am I just a lil ol fashioned dummy head, haha
I love this! I wish they kept this and made it into a flashback when Dracula read the gift Martha made Mavis for her birthday or Martha could have lived! Love this movie and the second one! I haven't seen the first one in forever! I need to watch it again! lol!

Even as a kid this was so amazing to me and I just loved this ad it's entirety especially seeing how they used to be and what Mavis's mother was really like. They seem to be a lot more carefree and happy 😍

As awesome this scene is, It is nearly impossible to find a place to put it in, it can't go near the beginning since it gives too much information and it would slow down the film's pacing if put anywhere else

+Jowen B. Layug Jr. Have you not seen the movie? Zing is the term that the monsters use for "Love at first sight" So when someone "Zings" its love at first sight. And the Zing book was the book with a poem about how Mavis parents met, felt a "Zing" and knew right then they be husband and wife for a Zing only happens once in your life! that's part of the poem. Her mom is telling her one day she'll feel her Zing and to cherish it for true love doesn't come by as often as people think it does and when you do find someone you 'zing' with well it does only happen once in your life. So they met in Hawaii but they felt their "Zing" there and this would've been perfect to be seen a number of times in the movie!

THIS IS PERFECT WHY WAS IT DELETED?! The whole thing is just soooooooo sweet!!!!!
This is heartbreaking. The scene shows that Dracula and Martha really cared for each other, and no matter how much you’re entertained, and how much you smile, you can’t help but feel sad. You love this scene as it shows Dracula as the happiest he’s ever been, but you know that Martha died when Mavis was only a baby, and didn’t get to see her child grow up. This scene, while sweet and entertaining, is about to open the water mill for business when you know what happened, breaking Drac’s family, heart, and mind. He was never the same after the love of his life was killed.
I love the scene. The pacing and everything, wish it was fleshed out and put in!
It’s gonna sound weird but I’m glad they also gave the extra “dad-crew” stuff to do. Almost more in this scene than in their movies combined it feels like tbh, yet somehow not overstaying their welcome.

Not to be the one person going 'meh' - but I can see why this wasn't used. The cameramovement is awesome, nice transitions and all, but it's too slow overall, and really, everything is pretty clichè. There's nothing surprising here and I don't feel like mr. and mrs. Dracula have a very unique relationship at all. Maybe it's an unfair comparison but play this and the opening scene to UP alongside each other. They are pretty much trying to put across the same point, but UP is SO much more effective and touching. The most noticable part is that they never show mr. and mrs. dracula going through any trouble together, which is such a missed opportunity. A scene like this is not a bad idea, I love backstory as much as anyone, but the characters and the story deserve better!

I hate the fact that Drac has fallen in love with Erika not only for defeating the purpose of the first movie but also for implying that someone is only happy if they are in a relationship, as if friends and family aren't enough. Otherwise all the singles in the world would be unhappy.

I really think it would’ve been a better idea for them to have made a prequel involving these two before they came out with the second and third movie. Just imagine, we get to see Martha and Dracula meet and fall in love, but instead of skipping right to the marriage we instead get to see them spend actual time together going on fun adventures and Drac having to juggle guy-time and time with his girlfriend, I can already see his guy pals getting super jealous over Martha or teasing Drac about being inlove. Of course the ending would be something along the lines of the guy friends realizing that Martha makes Drac happy and that they should learn to accept and adapt, and of course hinting at them all meeting their significant others as well.
Then they could’ve easily added Part 2 which takes place after Hotel Transylvania Part 1, where Mavis and Johnny get married and have Dennis, and part 3 where Drac instead is celebrating his Anniversary in a room with a picture of his wife, reminiscing about the wonderful past spent with her(instead of showing him on tinder 🤦🏻♀️). I could picture Mavis overhearing her father talk to the painting about how lonely it has been, and how hard it was to raise their child alone for all those years but that he is truly happy she found love and how Martha would’ve adored Dennis. Mavis takes things into her own hands and THIS is what leads to everyone going on a cruise ship, Mavis’ mission being to set her father up with someone on the cruise unaware of the malicious intent of the captain.
Now doesn’t that sound like a better plot? Or am I just a lil ol fashioned dummy head, haha
