Oh my gosh, all these comments and nobody's recommended their cover of Metallica's Nothing Else Matters yet? Tragic. It's a masterpiece. Please check it out, you won't be disappointed.
The beatboxer, Layne Stein, is an original member and was originally their baritone. When their beatboxer left, he decided he wanted to give it a try. As far as I know he is completely self taught and comes up with noises that aren’t a traditional drum kit. People often say he has swallowed a drum kit, but I believe he swallowed a drum kit an alien spaceship and possibly some of the aliens. Sleeping in the Cold Below is a good example of some of his more electronic sounds as well as the recent release of Black Hole Sun. He also provides their driving beat in their cover of Valhalla Calling. In that he has also done all of the sound effects including the creaking door. But one of my favorites is their completely insane version of In the Hall of the Mountain King. It’s a classical orchestral piece and Layne turned it into slapstick comedy. And it is extremely extremely theatrical. I do believe you would love it. They love to tell stories. They have a strong background in the theme parks, being based in Orlando where Disney and Universal Studios are big employers. Not all of their covers are as theatrical but some of my favorites are more theatrical pieces. They love to dress up and even when they’re not thoroughly in costume they often allude to the theme of the song in the clothing choices. I hope you pursue this path and have subscribed in anticipation of more VoicePlay reactions. By the way, Santa is played by the bass singers brother-in-law and the voiceover is done by Eli who is the little minion in red.
Yay!! Finally getting to Voice Play and Layne’s fabulous beatboxing-as well as the amazing rest of the guys! Give Seven Nation Army a try for some more amazing singing and beatboxing. ❤️🎶
Two significant notes about their beatboxer: first, he specializes in electronic sounds, and second, he has the lowest chest range of any of the top a capella groups.
To hear his low chest voice , I'd suggest "Everywhere You Look" from their partwork series (Full House theme song - just two members doing it), or "Hellfire - he sings bass for most of the intro. As to the electronic specialization, Enemy, Black Hole Sun, Sleeping in the Cold Below, Seven Nation Army, ....
Welcome to VoicePlay! These guys do such great work and they do it as a 100% independent group, so what you saw here? Arranged and directed by their beatboxer (Layne Stein), filmed at his video production studio, lighting design by the bald tenor (Eli Jacobson- his name rhymes with 'jelly'), edited by the beatboxer and funded by Patreon, streaming revenues and live performances. The ridiculous bass (Geoff Castellucci) also provides arrangements, direction and video work. Eli has more recently begun contributing more on the arrangement/video side as well; those three members constitute the core of the group, and if you go through their catalog other members will change, but those three remain constant. One of the things I've noticed is that Layne tends to not get as much video spotlight as the others. Whether that's by accident or design is hard to say, but if you want to get to really see him in action (and hear some great sounds out of him too!) then the song I'd reccomend is VoicePlay's cover of In the Hall of the Mountain King. It is another one of Layne's arrangements, as well as being one of their more theatrical videos much like this one. But Layne is right in the front, and his beatboxing is really highlighted in that piece. And the arrangement itself is absolute mad genius- a must listen! Another good one is We Don't Talk About Bruno, from the Disney movie, Encanto. Layne has a couple very nice moments in that, including a ahort but impressive bit of ingressive technique at the end.
Welcome to the voiceplay rabbit hole! Amazing group! As far as beatboxing, probably not the greatest example to highlight Layne's ability so i really hope you watch more from them because he is absolutely incredible! They all are and so glad you were recommended to watch them. Looking forward to more reactions :-)
As a nonbeatboxer, what I can appreciate about Layne is his precision in terms of the arrangements. He drops intricate runs where is would make the most musical impact, and where other stuff needs to shine in the music or storytelling, he draws back and simplifies so it's purely support that he provides❤ Also, some effects he produces is marvellously comedic. As to the group, their more fun stuff is In The Hall Of The Mountain King, We Don't Talk About Bruno, all their halloween stuff, and ACA Top Ten arrangements. You might enjoy the arranging of Hoist The Colours, Nothing Else Matters, Dream On, and parts 1 & 2 of Panic! at the Disco in 5 Minutes. Strap yourself in!
Any of their Disney song covers are fun to as are the Viking songs "Valhalla Calling" and "My Mother Told Me" Then there is The Dragon Born Comes where Geoff impersonates that horn in the Ricola Commercials, and as a Beat Boxer I think you would also apricate Lien doing the drum fill from "In The Air Tonight"
Voice Play's beat boxer is Layne Stein - the guy with the light on his nose in this video. He plays a wicked violin, too - see their cover of "Warriors" - or anything that piques your interest
I recommend their version In The Hall of the Mountain King (I think I got that right). Instrumental song that even my curmudgeon dad who loves classical music liked how inventive they were with it.
Voiceplay has some of the best covers of any group anywhere of video game songs (halo, Valhalla calling, sleeping in the cold below, dragonborne comes, enemy), Halloween (anything from nightmare before Christmas, hall of the mountain king, hide and seek), and disney Broadway (little mermaid, wicked, we dont talk about bruno, moana) Geoff their elite bass and Layne the beatboxer take turns on arranging and production. Eli is their rock tenor and does top lighting and cgi backgrounds. The other members change sometimes, but always belong like family
Great reaction! You have a great ear and caught a lot of subtle things many miss. I think you'd really like Valhalla Calling Me. It's another super arrangement.
Subscribed!! Welcome to the VoicePlay family!! This is a great entry into the VoicePlay rabbit hole. Great song to pick. Now you're ready to be mind blown over and over again. You'll love VoicePlay's versions of Valhalla Calling! Nothing Else Matters, Dream On, Dragonborn Comes, Warriors, Seven Nation Army, Black Hole Sun, Creep, Drunken Sailor, Theme from Halo, Enemy, ...that's just to get you started. Enjoy the rabbit hole!!
Oh, yes! There is lots more to discover! I’ll let others make specific recommendations because you can’t go wrong with these guys! My opinion, they are the absolute best and most creative acapella group out there! Layne (the beatboxer) arranged this! 😅
You need to watch their cover of In the Air Tonight, Layne is their beat boxer, Geoff is their bass , Eli pronounced L E is their highest tenor, they have been a group since 1997 so some of their members have gone to Broadway, others have gone to tv careers, one sings for the navy, you know, life. Because they have been together so long and because they use to tour they are very professional. Geoff has his own channel. They do all genres of music from Disney to Metallica to classical to gaming …Skyrim’s Dragonborn, and Halo I think you would enjoy a trip down the rabbit hole😂❤ bye the way this is from the Nightmare before Christmas. The beatboxer, Layne is on the far right with the white spot on his nose.
@@KlownMusicReacts You might be interested in seeing a live version of the same song - YT might block the link so search for Voiceplay - Oogie Boogie - Valley Forge Casino, 12/20/2019
Yep, I love musical theater and fell in love with these guys after watching just a couple of videos. When I do run across reactors who are like, "Well, you know, I'm not saying that they aren't good singers, but I can't stand all these theatrics," I can concede that they may be 100% honest, but that just means I probably am not going to watch any more of their reactions to VoicePlay, because we obviously have just too divergent tastes. I have to resist the temptation to respond, "I suppose you also hate watching plays that bring in all those 'superfluous' things like set design, sound effects, scenery and costuming and blocking, because all you need to do is have the actors stand onstage and read the lines from a script in order to perform the play."
Everything about Voiceplay is wonderful. The big, bearded dude left in early 2020 for undisclosed personal reasons after 23 years with them. The black singer left in 2021 to sing with the US Navy but has been back several times as a featured artist. He has been replaced, the first has not. One man short they work with a group of talented friends as featured artists. Don't get confused when you don't recognize the performers, we are a forgiving lot. For more outstanding beatboxing, try their version of Valhalla Calling. Or In the Hall of the Mountain King. Subscribed in anticipation!
@@shelleeroe Earl was a founding member, back when they called themselves 4:2:Five. The reason it was so hard for Layne and Geoff when Earl left is because Earl had been singing with them since high school, if not middle school. The trio even lived together for a year as young adults. Which makes VP's Still Alive video even funnier. The cake is a lie!
Welcome to VoicePlay! Geoff (their bass) is not entirely human, pretty sure he's some kind of 5 octave alien wizard. He's so fun to watch/listen to. Lane is the beatboxer, but the guys do you multi tracking on their productions and Geoff has this percussive nature to his low notes so it's adds alot of depth. For beatboxing, maybe try the Halo theme, or Seven Nation Army. Totally different vibes.
Welcome to the Rabbit Hole!!!! 😁 VoicePlay are just the best IMO. Their unofficial nickname is The Theatre Kids Of Acapella. Geoff Castellucci is the Bass and he is one of the best. He has a five octave range and has his own solo channel The beatbox is Layne Stein. He sings too he has his own studio and does productions with a former VoicePlay member. The bald tenor is Eli Jacobson. He is an excellent voice actor and did the voice of Santa here. These are the three remaining members of the group. The high tenor with the beard and the baritone in the leather jacket have left to pursue their own things. If you can react to Valhalla Calling the guy in the leather jacket came back to sing with his friends. His name is J None.
I really enjoyed watching this reaction. It was not only fun to watch but very informative. Voiceplay does a wide variety of covers. They've done a lot of different genres, from Metallica, to SoundGarden and much more. Disney stuff, lots of small snippets they call minis. Oogie Boogie is the song that I first watched when finding them so I often stroll through UA-cam to find new reactors. I'm so happy you reacted to this one. As my suggestion I'd say you'd get a kick out of the beatboxing in "This is Halloween" but in reality you'll probably enjoy just about anything Voiceplay creates because it's all so creative. I hope to see more reactions. I love seeing reactions from a beatboxer's point of view. It's definitely new to me since I'm more of a pianist/singer. I hope to be able to pick up some knowledge about beatboxing while I'm here.
Great reaction and your dutch accent is so adorable, gives me "feeling at home" 😅 Greetz from a vlaams belgian 🇧🇪 who lives in Germany since 2008. Love Voiceplay and all the solo stuff Geoff is having on his channel. To see a lot of Layne (their beatboxer) you could start with their medleys (Little Mermaid/Moana/Encanto), "Queen in 5 minutes", "Boybands in 5 minutes" and their recent songs are simply amazing, you really cant't go wrong with any Voiceplay song and all fans will be happy to go along with you down that rabbithole ❤ Definitely suscribed to your channel ✅️

YAY!! So glad you found Voice Play!! They are the theater kid of acapella! AND! Everything they do is amazing! Hellfire is so good. I Can't Make You Love Me is so emotional.. Little Mermaid medley is fun! Some live things are The Chicken Song and Road Trip. Geoff [silent o] The bass - taught Layne [beatboxer] how to beatbox - so Geoff can sneak some in at times. And Geoff has some solo work where he has sometimes 4 of himself harmonizing with himself! Cannot wait to see you discover more of their stuff!!
This video is one of the more theatrical songs they do, which sets them apart from most a capella groups. Often they sing is more usual way, in a lineup. At Christmas they did a cover of the Mean Girls song Jingle Bell Rock and it's hilarious. Every video is so much more than just singing. They work incredibly hard. And Geoff, the bass, has his own channel of low bass covers which are not a capella but Geoff creates his own musical backing for those.
I see a lot of others commenting on what you should watch and listen to next. Someone may have already suggested this, but Seven Nation Army is another good one where Layne’s beatboxing is highlighted. VoicePlay is my favorite a cappella group. Welcome to the fold! We love a lot of reactors.
Their ACA range is live (bar one or two) - if you want to see just how good Layne is as a beatboxer. In all their more serious productions they show clicks etc. Their rock songs are my personal favourites, but choose your genre - they have the widest genre range. Whichever range you choose - you will not be disappointed. They are awesome. Hopefully there will be more VP in future? 🌹🕊
Welcome to VP - their Disney covers have the most of the strange voices - but whether they do that or not, the variety in the way they present their voices is extraordinary. Layne Stein is the beatbox. Listen to Dream On - Layne does a really strange & interesting sound in that one I've never heard before...You might also listen to their medley, Queen In 5 Minutes - they use Queen songs to tell their own story, and it's insane. Layne has a sweet baritone, but usually when he sings it's in a character voice. He's a wonderful comic actor with superb timing, so it works out well. Everything they do is top notch...
Pentatoinix are the cool kids, Home Free are the music kids and VoicePlay are the theater kids....They all have their pros and cons and styles...as you stated, VoicePlay is very theatrical. Geoff, who is their bass singer and often credited Tim Foust from Home Free for helping with his low range. I like most of the music by all three groups. My only issue with VP, and they are much better about it in current projects, is they tend to drop the bass bomb sometimes just because they can, not to benefit the music...but like I said that was from earlier projects, recently they have been much more balanced.
Same here - that's my only gripe. I love both VP and HF - HF is the fav because the sound is so clean usually. And I love the drops as long as they fit. VP does cater to their fans who love it no matter what.
#TheatreKidsOfACapella. The bass Geoff Castellucci has his own channel and does low bass covers. You haven't experienced anything yet. Welcome to the rabbit hole and enjoy the ride.
I believe that Sandy Claws was played by Geoff's brother in law (correct me someone?) but his voice was done by Eli. Eli has an amazing control of character voices!
Beatboxer who also loves A Capella here. Geoff has a super low voice to begin with but the really low stuff is Fry Subharmonics like what Dubz has been using for a bass in recent years. The beatboxer is also the producer for the group and I believe he layered and processed a spit snare and the colaps double click to make the snare and snap sounds you were talking about. Love the stuff bro!
There are 3 major acapella groups reactors watch, Pentatonix is the choir kids, Voiceplay is the Drama kids, Homefree is FFA. All are great in their own way. I'm sure others can add others to the list.
If you'd like to hear more of their character voices, definitely recommend any of their other Nightmare songs. They typically do that in those (especially This is Halloween). Personally, I'd recommend one of my favorites, Hoist the Colours. If you game, they have some fun covers. They have a little bit of something for everyone, actually. Also, they have had some changes over the years so don't be surprised if you see different people in different songs.
Welcome to Voiceplay! You're in for a wild ride with them 😅Their catalog is huge with all different genre of music. Usually they're very theatrical but always wonderful. Have fun! Hoist The Colours is a masterpiece to start with
Okay, our left-to-right of their most common positioning. J. None, Baritone. Currently doing a stint with the U.S. Navy. It seems whenever he gets leave, he is back making songs and videos with the guys, so consider him on hiatus most of the time. Lots of guests fill this spot when he is away. Earl Elkins Jr., High Tenor. Left the group a few years ago and was replaced by Cesar De La Rosa. Eli (pronounced Elly), Lyric Tenor/Baritone. Very versatile voice. Usually running the lighting. Geoff (pronounced Jeff), Baritone/Bass/Counter Tenor/Soprano?: Obviously the lead here. Layne: Beat Boxer/Baritone/Tenor: Co-owner of the studio they usually shoot their videos in. Arranged this song.
They do layer things to get the sound they want - their beatboxer also sings in a lot of their songs, so he will record the beat and they layer it with his singing and stuff like that. They also do some post production, but they don't use pitch correction or change the range - only stuff like adding reverb to add to the sound. Geoff, the bass, has a range from C♯1 to A5 without going into his his falsetto. You might like their Valhalla Calling, but personally, I'm fond of things like their medlies such as Moana or Little Mermaid - but they have a wide range of songs.
Loved your enthusiastic reaction and your breakdown and analysis at the end- thanks! I am a new subscriber looking forward to more of your reactions to Voice Play. Yes, Voice Play are often referred to as the theater kids of acapella music and I think you will really appreciate their unique style and approach to acapella music. Voice Play and Home Free are close friends very supportive of each other ( Voice Play's beatboxer, Layne Stein, helped with the arrangement of Home Frees "Butt Remix" that you recently reacted to). They are completely independent doing all of their own production without a record contract or label so they have complete control of their artistic expression. I think you would really enjoy their covers of "Valhalla Calling", "Seven Nation Army" (for complex beatboxing) and "Warriors" for an unexpected surprise that beatboxer, Layne, can do while he beatboxes.
VoicePlay, first arrange the songs, then record them. After that, they use a Boom-Box, while play-acting. Layne Stein is the beatboxer, but Geoff Castellucci (Bass) sometimes helps out,
To really hear Layne (dressed as Zero in this, the nose-glowing dog of Jack Skellington), their beatboxer at work, I recommend "Sleeping In The Cold Below" or "Wayward Son." The latter I have to constantly reminds myself does NOT have actual drums, it's all Layne. Oh, don't be surprised if you see different faces, Voiceplay has gone from a five man group to a four man group with guests for almost every song. J. None (skeleton shirt in this) is a member on reverse leave, as he's singing with the Naval Choir, but comes back frequently to sing with the group. And we now have Cesar, as their High Tenor Earl ("You haven't got a prayer!") left several years ago. You're going to have fun with this group! If you'd like, I can post some "rules" (suggestions, really, "More of a guideline than a rule" And if you get that quote you'll be the first!) that I put together, very helpful for listening to Voiceplay. I've only ever had one reactor complain about them, thought I was trying to tell him how to run his channel (I wasn't, and I'm not like that), so now I wait for explicit permission, like a hearted comment or actual words saying "Go for it!" 💙
Welcome to the wonderful world of VoicePlay. They are absolutely amazing. Geoff Castellucci (the bass) has his own channel. I have subscribed to see more VoicePlay & Geoff Castellucci reactions. They are known as the theater kids of acapella. For VoicePlay, I would recommend: Nothing Else Matters; Black Hole Sun; Seven Nation Army; Hoist the Colors; Drunken Sailor; The Dragonborn Comes; Creep; In the Air Tonight; Hellfire; and The Lion Sleeps Tonight (is them just having fun). For Geoff Castellucci, I would recommend: Don't Mess Around with Jim; 16 Tons; Over the Misty Mountains Cold; I See Fire; Ain't No Sunshine; Ghost Riders in the Sky; Unshaken. The suggestions are just a few of their songs. Enjoy the VoicePlay & Geoff Castellucci rabbit hole.
You might want to contrast this production with an earlier view of them doing the song live on stage, I was impressed by how similar the two productions were. This one is better because of the use of layers and the scenery control, IMO. But their are excellent in both.
For some more amazing bass, great beat-boxing, and awesome harmonies, I would strongly recommend "Valhalla Calling", "Hoist The Colors", "Drunken Sailor", and their cover of Aerosmith's "Dream On." Not that the rest of their repertoire isn't also great, but these - to me, anyway - really show off those facets best.
This is super low key and subtle for Layne. Try Hall of The Mountain King or Drunken Sailor. Both have him much more forward and you’ll hear him cutting loose more.
Did anyone ever tell you you look a little bit like Matthew Lillard? He was in "Scream" and "Scooby Doo" (the live action version, he played Shaggy...and did it PERFECTLY)!💙
I'm subscribing to enjoy watching you watch Voiceplay! "Valhalla Calling" is my favorite! My record is "Hoist The Colors," though which I sleep to, and last year I listened to it over 43,500 times. Yes, really. And that number has gone up considerably, as I still listen to it every night as I sleep! "Valhalla Calling" has too much of a beat to sleep to. 💙
This one is a highly recommended intro to Voiceplay. But I’m not sure it’s the best. Although they sometimes use character voices, it’s usually not this much. This one is the rare exception; usually they don’t have one lead - they all get turns. And this isn’t the lowest (or highest) that Geoff can sing now. I’m subscribing to watch your Voiceplay journey.
You should react to their Wicked medley. Their We Don’t Talk About Bruno is also terrific… And they have lots of other great covers. Enjoy your reactions!
I agree with all the recommendations below but especially want to suggest their cover of Hellfire from Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame or their Wicked Medley. For a less theatrical cover, you should check out their cover of Nothing Else Matters by Metallica.
Oh my gosh, all these comments and nobody's recommended their cover of Metallica's Nothing Else Matters yet? Tragic. It's a masterpiece. Please check it out, you won't be disappointed.
Only because folks were emphasizing Layne beat boxing, vs err other surprises
“Problem” is that they have so so many great covers

I think nearly every Voiceplay reaction I've watched has had the reactor saying "there's so much going on!"
Yay!! Finally getting to Voice Play and Layne’s fabulous beatboxing-as well as the amazing rest of the guys! Give Seven Nation Army a try for some more amazing singing and beatboxing. ❤️🎶
Ooh good call!!
Two significant notes about their beatboxer: first, he specializes in electronic sounds, and second, he has the lowest chest range of any of the top a capella groups.
Oelalala is there any video where he does this?
I think he does the inhale bass boom on Dragon Born. It's from a video game and they are in full costume again.
@@mamiemartinson4649 Also Hoist the Colors maybe? He’s right there with Geoff on the Yo Hos.
Their cover of “Black Hole Sun” could be a good pick for beat boxing

Adding my endorsement to these suggestions! ❤
The level of excitement I have when I stumble across someone's first reaction to Voiceplay! And to have it be Oogie Boggie🙌🏻
That's the kind of reaction I like from someone listening to VoicePlay!🙌 Ooggie Boogie's Song is the perfect debut.❤
As a nonbeatboxer, what I can appreciate about Layne is his precision in terms of the arrangements. They’re an excellent group. Multitalented, super creative, as others would already have told you about….
Voice Play's beat boxer is Layne Stein - the guy with the light on his nose in this video. He plays a wicked violin, too - see their cover of "Warriors" - or anything that piques your interest

That last Low note, E1. People went crazy the first time they heard it. And the guy playing Zero, the Bright Nose, Layne. He is the Beatboxer.
They are my favorite acapella group, mainly because. They are theatricle.
Oh, yes! There is lots more to discover! I’ll let others make specific recommendations because you can’t go wrong with these guys! My opinion, they are the absolute best and most creative acapella group out there! Layne (the beatboxer) arranged this! 😅
Welcome to Voiceplay! I'm looking forward to following your journey through their music!
I noticed himbeatboxing, but I also noticed layers, so its hard to explain what is happening
LOL!
I love watching people see Voiceplay for the first time. Welcome to Voiceplay!
I didn't realize that he was with them for 23 years.
You should hear their cover of "Hoist the Colors".😊
Welcome to VoicePlay! Geoff (their bass) is not entirely human, pretty sure he's some kind of 5 octave alien wizard. He's so fun to watch/listen to. Lane is the beatboxer, but the guys do you multi tracking on their productions and Geoff has this percussive nature to his low notes so it's adds alot of depth. For beatboxing, maybe try the Halo theme, or Seven Nation Army. Totally different vibes.
Welcome to the Rabbit Hole!!!! 😁
VoicePlay are just the best IMO.
Their unofficial nickname is The Theatre Kids Of Acapella.
Geoff Castellucci is the Bass and he is one of the best. He has a five octave range and has his own solo channel
The beatbox is Layne Stein.
To see a lot of Layne (their beatboxer) you could start with their medleys (Little Mermaid/Moana/Encanto), "Queen in 5 minutes", "Boybands in 5 minutes" and their recent songs are simply amazing, you really cant't go wrong with any Voiceplay song and all fans will be happy to go along with you down that rabbithole ❤
Definitely suscribed to your channel ✅️

OH MY GOD! thank you so much
One of the reasons I have been watching you is the unique perspective you bring. I’m a huge VoicePlay fan. Thanks for sharing with us
All their videos are good. Have fun!
Welcome to the VP family, thanks for the reaction and keep them coming!
🎼🎼 more Voiceplay , please !!! .. I will suggest "My Mother Told Me" (( Pirate Music )) .... , or "Seven Nation Army" (( goosebumps..)) 🎼🎼
#TheatreKidsOfACapella. The bass Geoff Castellucci has his own channel and does low bass covers. You haven't experienced anything yet. Welcome to the rabbit hole and enjoy the ride.
For vocal percussion live try some of their live one shot "ACA Top 10 Videos"
if ya wanna hear the beatbox react to their hall of the mountain king you can hear it better because of no words
Welcome to voiceplay, klown! 😁💜💜
That bass comes from Geoff "G1" Castellucci.😊
Love your reaction 🙂 Really hoping you'll join us down this rabbit hole. Have subscribed in anticipation. 😊
If you like this video, another Nightmare Before Christmas cover Voiceplay does is This Is Halloween. Also very theatrical, and one of my favorites!
Its always so cool seeing someones first exposure to VoicePlay
7:09 yes absolutely, that is the perfect description of the voice 👌
They also did a video for This is Halloween, from the Nightmare before Christmas
The man singing is also a beat boxer as well as a bass singer. And with a five-octave vocal range, he is also a baritone and a tenor.
Voice play is more a theatrical A Cappella group. Though they did knock it out of the park with their cover of “Nothing Else Matters.”
There are a lot more where this came from. Welcome to VoicePlay
VoicePlay, first arrange the songs, then record them. After that, they use a Boom-Box, while play-acting. Layne Stein is the beatboxer, but Geoff Castellucci (Bass) sometimes helps out,
Geoff (bass) and Layne (beatboxer) both have 5 octave voices and have friends since jr. high.
These guys are my Favorite acapella groups out there also the Bass is Geoff Castellucci pronounced Jeff and he does solo work too.
I've only ever had one reactor complain about them, thought I was trying to tell him how to run his channel (I wasn't, and I'm not like that), so now I wait for explicit permission, like a hearted comment or actual words saying "Go for it!" 💙
Hoist the Colours, Valhalla Calling, Dragonborn Comes (Skyrim) are another few suggestions, and Drunken Sailor. Have fun with them.
For some more amazing bass, great beat-boxing, and awesome harmonies, I would strongly recommend "Valhalla Calling", "Hoist The Colors", "Drunken Sailor", and their cover of Aerosmith's "Dream On."
Not that the rest of their repertoire isn't also great, but these - to me, anyway - really show off those facets best.
This is super low key and subtle for Layne. Try Hall of The Mountain King or Drunken Sailor. Both have him much more forward and you’ll hear him cutting loose more.
My favorite band
You need to watch them do their version of In The Hall of the Mountain King. They are called the theater kids of accapella for good reason.
Theatrical: yes because "the PLAY is the thing".
Welcome to voiceplay so many to to choose from 😊
Fun reaction...thank you.❤❤❤❤
Welcome to the VoicePlay rabbit hole! You can’t stop with just one!
Love the reaction! Seven Nation Army!
If you liked this Video, the Bass Singer is Geoff and you REALLY NEED TO REACT TO HIS SOLO SONGS. HE'LL BLOW YOUR MIND
Love them geoffquakes 😊
They get you in the gut❤ everything he does is chefs💋
sometimes J.None just has to have his neck snapped for the sound effect... we can probably still still hear him laughing about it in the next room
Enjoy your VoicePlay rabbithole; it's as amazing as Ren's rabbithole.
I must suggest Seven Nation Army, Creep and Geoff's cover of Shenandoah!
For a complete contrast 'I can't make you love me' has almost no beat boxing, and will have you crying for the loss by the end.
Yayyyy Voiceplay! Subbed 😁
Song recs:
- Valhalla Calling
- Hellfire
- Hoist the Colors
- Nothing Else Matters
- Seven Nation Army
- Enemy
it’s definitely an adventure 😂❤
Note about the beat boxing. Layne is THE beat boxer, but Geoff (the bass) can also beat box.
❤
"Any other good Voiceplay videos?" Yes, all of them.
Did hall of the mountain king yesterday :)
Absolutely LOVED it
I recommend you do Valhalla Calling next for a real class beatboxer. Layne (with the lighted nose) is the beatboxer.
Interesting tidbit: Santa is played by Geoff's father-in-law.
Brother-in-law
I agree with all the recommendations below but especially want to suggest their cover of Hellfire from Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame or their Wicked Medley. For a less theatrical cover, you should check out their cover of Nothing Else Matters by Metallica.
Amazing reaction, i did enjoy It alot.
Take a look to Valallah Calling by voiceplay, famous Song by Them + good beatboxing
If you want crazy range watch Valhalla calling by them. Geoff has a five or more octave range and maybe has at least a three octave low range himself
Layne not maybe
