Krevin Grard I'm not saying it doesn't look good. It's just not an attention grabber anymore because everyone has seen it for so long. As the video clearly shows.
yea and thank god for it being nothing like an Aventador. This is exquisite and a car that has aged incredibly well. Few people notice it, but those who do appreciate it a lot more than all those drooling over a red lambo
Toby Prince I think they know it as James Boyd's Car but don't really know what it is or particularly looks like. And they also may have heard the name Aston Martin but don't know much about it
@@Official_Dee5iveTV I can't imagine there's a huge group of people that are into cars enough to know what a 458 is without being into them enough to know what one looks like. Someone not into cars isn't very likely to be able to name any Ferrari model, let alone one that's just numbers.
@@ApotheosisCM trust me there are people like that..... My dad thinks every lamborghini is an Aventador...... But it's our job to teach people and not ridicule them for making mistakes....... We all have to start somewhere
The last exotic sports car I gave a thumbs up to was a bright blue Porsche GT3 in Scottsdale, Arizona. The driver was super proud, I can tell. He deserves it man!!
Live in Carmel, Indiana and saw a 2016 Aston martin Vanquish Volante with carbon fiber body black. Just awesome. Followed the owner to grocery store and stopped and talked with him and others were walking by and did not pay any notice to his car. Understandable, almost like Astons are unknown. Still looking forward someday to own one.
I've only seen a few Astons in my whole life, so I'd definitely get pretty excited to see one. But most people wouldn't give a second look just because it's not a crazy, obnoxious, loud design like a Ferrari. It's stealth wealth.
Continental GT is a completely different car. It's nearly a tonne heavier just to start. It may have a higher top speed, but around a circuit it would get destroyed (the handling is imprecise and the brakes are awful). Aston Martins are also handmade, and the leather comes from Bridge of Weir.
I own an Aston Martin DB9 silver 2007 and I agree it doesn't garner that much attention unless you're really looking or stopped some where long enough for people to look up from their phones and see it. I am glad it doesn't grab that much attention because I bought the for car for myself since I have wanted a car like that since I was a kid. Getting attention from a car would be nice at first sure but for me personally the novelty would wear off after a while. It's a beautiful car but it doesn't need to scream it out loud that it's exotic to the public. That's what makes it a classy car in my eyes.
That guy! putting the water bottle on top of your car and then full on just trying to open the door to your car (ferrari) irks me even in just those split seconds....
Far Reach Engineering I know, that dude seriously, I would have punched his fucking lights out. "Oiíi !! ..Get your freaking hands off my freaking Ferrari dude! ..Like, did I say you could just open the freaking door?"
Tony Incredibly wrong. The Aston Martin is built on the aluminum VH chassis architecture, while the Fusion is built on the VD3 chassis, which is stamped steel. But fuck, you were close, right?
I feel your pain! I never get much of a reaction in my original M3 E30 or my GTI '337', BUT everyone goes NUTS when I pull into a gas station with my vintage 1982 2-stroke HONDA MB5 50cc mini-motorcycle (5-speed, 7.1 HP, 53 MPH max)! It looks like a mini Ducati and sounds like a chain saw that needs a tuneup!
I think people don't really react to it in the same way is because Skylines and Ferrari's really stand out and are quite unique even at a glance. The Aston Martin is also unique and a very nice car, but at a quick glance someone may think it's just some stupid Mercedez or something lol.
European ford fiestas and fucus's have a very similar grill, Aston need to change their style, the Jag looks the same, is louder and half the price. This one being silver also does not help, no one notices silver, which is fantastic for those people who like subtleness.
If the car was bright red, British racing green or some kind of brilliant dark purple with black wheels. It would have been noticed. A Ferrari in red is of course much more of an eye catcher. Hell, take a 1st gen MR2 in red and people will think it's a Ferrari from the 80s.
Doug, I work at a car wash and trust me I've developed an eye for these exotic cars, I can spot an Astin martin from a mile away. Headlights are the dead giveaway.
One of my friends used to own a DB6 Vantage. He drove into a gas station one day. The gas station attendant asked "Is this a Ferrari?" No, it is an Aston Martin. "Oh, a Ferrari Aston Martin." We still laugh about this.
Krevin Grard I don't find it ugly, of course, but the 3/4 view is a bit too massive and the whole car looks a bit too 'choppy'. It's definitely a good looking car but I'm not crazy for it.
Want people to notice you. Change the exhaust, wrap it in a not so boring color, drop the suspension, add some dark wheels and puts some cool dark shades. Then maybe someone will notice you.
actually this is quite interesting because the color plays an important part there because it is not quite interesting for the people color grey or silver especially in the city but if you coulve had that aston in a glossy light blue or a brownish red there will be a much diference story surely
In my city (Manchester, United Kingdom) a 2009 model Aston Martin is a sought after vehicle and has the kerb appeal compared to most cars in our country which are regular or another SUV
It’s the color also it has tasteful styling without wings, flares or crazy shaped windows or lights or dancing horses.A beautiful grand touring car for a real gentlemen to drive.
Wow I get more attention in my '07 Saab 9-3 Aero Convertible, don't know why but at least once a week someone stops me at a gas station or the grocery store parking lot and asks me about my car. I find it hard to believe that you don't get attention but then again it might be the color. SIlver cars just don't bring a lot of attention to them. It's why they are one of the cheapest to insure and most plentiful on car lots.

It doesn't help it's the most boring "color" of all.
that design is timeless. That car will always look amazing.
Krevin Grard I'm not saying it doesn't look good. It's just not an attention grabber anymore because everyone has seen it for so long. As the video clearly shows.
It does look good still but it's not as unique. Some jagaurs, Mercedes, etc. have similiar looks at a glance
It's fucking crazy to me that people don't understand how beautiful and desirable this car is.
Taylor Maakestad it's noting great noting new it's not a aventador
yea and thank god for it being nothing like an Aventador. This is exquisite and a car that has aged incredibly well. Few people notice it, but those who do appreciate it a lot more than all those drooling over a red lambo
Taylor Maakestad it’s crazy to me too.
people dont kno wtf it is. its sad
It’s not that great
People react differently in the UK though 👍
People in America are more attracted to suvs
@@TheG60528XiJinPing says who? 🙄
Too right mate
@@TheG60528XiJinPing no. Trucks
@@anthonydenton6553 not gonna lie, as an America, I'd be more interested in a bright blue raptor than an Aston. Sorry guys
Most non car people have never even heard of aston martin
David it's James bonds car, most people know what it is
sadly they don't...i asked a few coworkers and they know bond, bu not what car he drives or even what it looks like.
Toby Prince I think they know it as James Boyd's Car but don't really know what it is or particularly looks like. And they also may have heard the name Aston Martin but don't know much about it
To be honest I've met a Ton of non-car people not know what alpha Romeo is
Robert Martinez I only know James Bond
0:46 did that guy rly just ask if it's a 458🤦🏽♂️
To answer your question... um, yess he did..
Not everyone is into cars as serious as most of us..... At least he asked instead of pretending he knows it all
@Swamuel indeed my dear friend, indeed
@@Official_Dee5iveTV I can't imagine there's a huge group of people that are into cars enough to know what a 458 is without being into them enough to know what one looks like. Someone not into cars isn't very likely to be able to name any Ferrari model, let alone one that's just numbers.
@@ApotheosisCM trust me there are people like that..... My dad thinks every lamborghini is an Aventador...... I do understand how someone can see a car for the first time and remember that name only, then when they see another car of the same brand the first thing that comes to mind is the car they first saw.......
Lexus ISF @ 1:00
When your Lexus has more power then a Ferrari.
Still slower though.
Toyota4Life that was a nice one the IS F with the cool exhaust tips
and a few thousand pounds heavier lmao
but slower than a 10 year old Ferrari.
Shobin Drogan like 18 years old actually
These are the reactions you want! You dont get every single person bothering you about it. Only the people who know, know. Its ideal in my opinion.
PA & NJ sees tons of nice cars on the road - nice ride
Only people who like astons will really notice it, which is great because then you'll only meet enthusiasts instead of people comparing gas milage lol
Hey nice ford fusion
Ryan lol
Ryan lol
Ryan lol
Ryan lol
Ryan lol Ryan lol Ryan lol Ryan lol... hmm... I'm beginning to see a pattern here. XD
That Aston is 10x better looking than the Ferrari
Wrong
Fax
Yeah true but not in grey
Whitenacho no it doesn’t...
I think im one of the only people on earth that doesn't think that era of astin martins looks good
Its because its not loud. Get better rims and a loud exhaust
Yeah, rimzzzz would do the trick.
get some nice chrome spinners!
***** Lmao so true
Homestar1998 Hahaha hahahahahahahahahah dude I just spit out my lunch laughing so hard 😂😂
It's because the car looks like a Mazda or a Toyota. It's a nice car, but not exotic looking at all.
This world needs more car guys
Its such a sexy car, Even after 10 years it Looks up to date
Do it again with an Aston Martin Vulcan ;)
Ian P Vulcan is not Street legal.
there is one which is street legal but only one. i dont know if it has a reverse gear tho
Shumbudi tuch mah spaget just push it XD
That’s a drag car
the color doesn´ t help. The country either
the skyline is a super star
Pablo Rey guess what guys? In indonesia there's only less than 10 Vantage
That guy! putting the water bottle on top of your car and then full on just trying to open the door to your car (ferrari) irks me even in just those split seconds....
Far Reach Engineering I know, that dude seriously, I would have punched his fucking lights out.
"Oiíi !! ..Get your freaking hands off my freaking Ferrari dude! ..Like, did I say you could just open the freaking door?"
because its a 2 door ford fusion
haha
Tyler Jones nope it's not
Mark Wright it is built around the same frame. Ford and Aston Martin collaborate.
Tony Incredibly wrong. The Aston Martin is built on the aluminum VH chassis architecture, while the Fusion is built on the VD3 chassis, which is stamped steel.
But fuck, you were close, right?
Tyler Jones
If only Doug had a place I could read more of his thoughts..
Urstin PB that would be pretty cool
THERE IS SUCH A PLACE!
Doug's new book: Doug: The maniacal ravings of a man who only owns 1 sock.
Yeah.... If only.... He should make one!
wtf was with that guy who put his water bottle on your hood and grabbed the door handle??
Edit: just watched the video, has to be staged lol
If someone walked up on my challenger and just put a water bottle on the roof and started opening my door, their face would meet the ground.
@Kristof Alexy Nah, hentai mate, summon them tentacles on em 😉
Awesome a Ford Fusion coupe it's a shame they don't make these anymore
Nice car! What year is this Maserati from?
Jaguar F-Type r coupe fan ohhhhhh.segun.jl.estamos.en.ese.año.ohhhhhhhhh.genial.:D
PCMasterRace you're joking right
I feel your pain!
Doug you should start writing some articles man, possibly on Autotrader?
Nah, I don't think anyone would read those.
Oh Furkan, you laugh riot!
Heck - I might even read them if they were publish on Autotrader.....
Doug DeMuro Oh my God...a reply from Doug himself! Is it sad that I am genuinely ecstatic about that?
I think people don't really react to it in the same way is because Skylines and Ferrari's really stand out and are quite unique even at a glance. The Aston Martin is also unique and a very nice car, but at a quick glance someone may think it's just some stupid Mercedez or something lol.
EBSting stupid Mercedes lol when Mercedes cls amg s class amg turn more heads lol
Would be different if you filmed in the UK. They always get looked at and a ton of respect
Is that a ford fusion?
No, Its the Mondeo :D
+mothafus No its a "Ralf o romeo" lol
Definitely a 2 door Ford Mondeo.
European ford fiestas and fucus's have a very similar grill, Aston need to change their style, the Jag looks the same, is louder and half the price. This one being silver also does not help, no one notices silver, which is fantastic for those people who like subtleness.
Focus's*
To be honest it's probably because of the color.
SoCalSupercars true
If the car was bright red, British racing green or some kind of brilliant dark purple with black wheels. It would have been noticed. A Ferrari in red is of course much more of an eye catcher. Hell, take a 1st gen MR2 in red and people will think it's a Ferrari from the 80s.
Neo VeNoM hey my Miata is red and some people think it's a Ferrari
Doug, I work at a car wash and trust me I've developed an eye for these exotic cars, I can spot an Astin martin from a mile away. Headlights are the dead giveaway.
America wouldn't know what it is because it's a British car.
I would want a DB series Ashton Martin, or a vintage Alfa Romeo guiletta sprint.
Ashton Martin...
zep head
Yeah, the Kutcher GT.
They also wouldn't understand the meaning of "subtle" or "understated" ..... unless it's loud and in your face, it doesn't register.
Armani Nguon im pretty sure they no wat a rolls royce is
I was already a fan of Aston Martin, but I think I'm even more so now, I love the style, class, and performance, and I value my privacy, it's perfect.
One of my friends used to own a DB6 Vantage. He drove into a gas station one day. The gas station attendant asked "Is this a Ferrari?" No, it is an Aston Martin. "Oh, a Ferrari Aston Martin." We still laugh about this.
@Kristof Alexy And my friend constantly regrets selling it. Now he can't afford buying another one.
I honestly don't fine the Aston that beautiful
Do you fine it for being ugly?
Phil Es 'find' errare humanum est :)
redsn0 I don't see the point to offend ppl for expressing their own opinions.
We should start fund to buy you glasses. lol
Krevin Grard I don't find it ugly, of course, but the 3/4 view is a bit too massive and the whole car looks a bit too 'choppy'.
It's definitely a good looking car but I'm not crazy for it.
It's a GRAY Aston Martin... Wrap it on red and you will get attention.
Doug is a legend.
Want people to notice you. Change the exhaust, wrap it in a not so boring color, drop the suspension, add some dark wheels and puts some cool dark shades. Then maybe someone will notice you.
The Smell of Napalm in the Morning Usually doesn't matter to attention seekers lol
Yeah, but Doug sold this car like a week ago...lol
...Or you could just put a vinyl wrap on it.
Good way to look like a classless tool
+Nicholas Seamans That's what my car looks like.
oh that's the Aston martin? I thought it was your old microphone! LOL sorry
Hahah. Well played, John Davis.
I love how dougs video quality hasn’t changed a bit in 3 years
"You know, I just took a road trip and averaged 47 miles to a gallon."
Guess what he drives. xD (1:04)
Typical pretentious Prius driver bragging about his gas mileage 😂😂😂
Doug. Is. Awesome. Never a disappointing video.
actually this is quite interesting because the color plays an important part there because it is not quite interesting for the people color grey or silver especially in the city but if you coulve had that aston in a glossy light blue or a brownish red there will be a much diference story surely
wonder how much more backlog videos Doug has of this car since he's already sold it.
3:20 what every rich weird guy does after he buys an exotic
Did you pay for fuel every time or did you just make them think you were stealing it
SamJPC I was filming with him...we only put in $7 a time
The guy at the counter must have thought you were real tight asses driving up in an Aston and only paying for $7 gas.
Tbh i would be all over that car if I saw it.
Yeah, I've seen a few on the road and wanted to go up and talk to the driver but didn't want to be THAT guy lol....
In my city (Manchester, United Kingdom) a 2009 model Aston Martin is a sought after vehicle and has the kerb appeal compared to most cars in our country which are regular or another SUV
I NEVER get reactions in my Peugeot 106 diesel.
Notice me senpai
So you're gonna do one of these videos in the Viper right?
0:44 the first question from the guy who owns the Prius is the fuel economy…
this is like taking a mercedes out and seeing if people notice it. did you really expect any different?
Fire Squad if it would be an slr yes 😂
well that's a McLaren Mercedes
Xhuliano Murati even the slr is an older car not many people would think it was special until he opened the doors
2013 C63 AMG when you start revving the shit out of it.
2007 CLS looks pretty vicious though, and the 63 AMG variant sounds like a badass muscle car when just cruising.
Man if you pass on front of me with this thing I'd take a thousand photos
Gutierrez Rodrigues dos Reis Lol seriously, the Aston he’s driving looks like and old worthless Porsche Cayman, and you’re impressed by that?
@@user-zm7de9fc9x shame on you
It’s the color also it has tasteful styling without wings, flares or crazy shaped windows or lights or dancing horses.A beautiful grand touring car for a real gentlemen to drive.
ANOTHER SAAB ENTHUSIAST BESIDES ME EXISTS!
because saabs are rare :) each of my family member has one :)
I get waved and pointed at by people and I drive a '93 Opel haha, I feel bad for Doug. People don't seem to care about bumper to bumper warranty
